High Pressure Operation Characteristics of Pilot Scale Entrained-Bed Gasification System Using ABK Coal (ABK탄을 이용한 pilot급 분류층 석탄가스화기 시스템의 고압 운전특성)

  • 석탄의 직접 연소 대신 고온/고압의 조건에서 불완전연소 및 가스화 반응을 통하여 일산화탄소(CO)와 수소($H_2$)가 주성분인 합성가스를 제조하여 이용하는 석탄 가스화 기술은 현실적인 에너지원의 확보를 위한 방법인 동시에 이산화탄소를 저감할 수 있는 기술이라 할 수 있다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 non-slagging 방식의 pilot급 분류층 석탄가스화기를 대상으로 고압 미분탄공급장치, 합성가스 냉각장치, 고온 집진장치 등을 연계하여 상용급 석탄가스기와 유사한 $1,300^{\circ}C$, 20 kg/$cm^2$의 운전조건에서 미분탄의 안정적인 공급을 통한 양질의 합성가스 제조 및 제조된 합성가스의 분기 공급특성 시험을 진행하였다. 그리고, 고압 미분탄공급장치는 공급호퍼에 저장된 미분탄을 고온/고압 조건으로 운전되는 석탄가스화기에 공급하기 위한 설비로서, 이러한 고압 미분탄공급장치를 이용한 기류수송 방식의 미분탄 공급 기술은 가스화기 설계 및 운전제어 기술과 더불어 석탄가스화기 시스템의 안정적 연속운전을 위한 가장 핵심적인 기술 중 하나라고 할 수 있다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 아역청탄인 인도네시아 ABK탄을 대상으로 향후 dense phase 고압 기류수송을 목적으로 하는 고압 미분탄공급장치의 성능특성을 시험을 진행하였는데, 시험 결과 73 kg/h 조건에서 20 kg/$cm^2$의 가스화기에 대한 안정적인 미분탄 공급특성을 확인할 수 있었으며, 이러한 미분탄 공급 조건에서 CO 40~45%, $H_2$ 16~20%, $CO_2$ 5~8% 조성의 양질의 합성가스를 평균적으로 $230{\sim}50Nm^3/h$ 안정적으로 제조할 수 있었다.

A Study on the Characteristics Assessment and Fabrication of Distribution Board according to KEMC Standards (KEMC 규정에 의한 분전반의 제작 및 특성 평가에 관한 연구)

  • This study fabricated a low-voltage 10 circuit distribution board based on the KEMC (Korea Electrical Manufacturers Cooperative) 2102-610 standard and performed a characteristics assessment of the developed 10 circuit distribution board to secure product stability. The developed 10 circuit distribution board is designed to have the characteristics of insulation materials, as well as resistance to corrosion ultraviolet radiation and mechanical impact. The developed distribution board is fabricated to have an appropriate protection class of enclosure, electric shock prevention and protection circuits, switchgear and its components, internal electrical circuits and connectors, external conduct terminal, insulation characteristics, temperature rise test, heat resistance, etc. The developed 10 circuit distribution board consists of a single phase circuit and 3-phase circuits. It is possible to measure in real time the leakage current generated from the load distribution line by installing a sensor module at the load side of each of the branched switchgears. In addition, it is possible to increase a circuit according to the use and purpose of the load and to also manage and check the load in real time. Temperature rise tests were performed on the developed 10 circuit distribution board at 18 places including the inlet connection, main circuit and distribution circuit bus bars and bus bar supports, etc. The highest temperature of $65.3^{\circ}C$ was measured at the R-Phase of the connection of the MCCB power supply for the branch circuit bus bar and a temperature rise of $61.6^{\circ}C$ was measured at the T-Phase of the load side. When applying thermal stress to an MCCB for 6 hours at $180^{\circ}C$ using a heat resistant experimental device, it was found that the actuator lever was transformed and moved in the tripped state.

  • Recently, An introduction of communication based train control system both into greenfield and brownfield of urban transit network has been actively reviewed. However, since a number of line sections and rolling stock depots tends to be constructed based on track circuit for various reasons, necessity of inter-operation between two distinct train control system (CBTC, ATC) increases. Therefore, we propose a design of on-board signalling device that allows inter-operation of CBTC and ATC lines and a method to secure safe connection between these two lines without derailing point machine.

이온빔 보조 증착으로 제조된 카본 박막의 특성 연구

  • 카본 박막은 내마모성, 내산성, 윤활성 및 높은 경도를 가지고 있어, 경질 박막 및 기능성 박막으로 주목을 받고 있으며 그 응용 분야가 매우 크다. 본 연구는 전자빔(Electron Beam)을 카본 grain을 증발시킴과 동시에 아르곤 보조 이온빔을 조사시켜 이온에너지에 따른 박막의 물성변화를 관찰하였다. 특히 본 연구에서 이용한 이온빔 증착 장치의 장점은 이온 충돌 에너지의 조절이 가능하다는 것이다. 카본 박막의 제조는 이온빔이 증착된 고진공 증착 장치를 이용하였고 이원빔원으로는 Oxford Applied Research 사의 RF 방전형 이온빔을 이용하였다. 배기장치는 유회전펌프와 터보펌프를 사용하였다. 기판은 홀더에 장착하기 전에 전처리를 거친 후 용기 내에서 이온빔에 의해 2차 청정을 하였다. 빔전압이 500V, 빔 전류는 4mA/cm2 및 RF power를 400W로 하여 기판 청정을 거친 후 전자빔을 이용하여 흑연을 증발시켜 박막을 제조하였다. 이때 이온빔 전압을 100~500V, RF power를 400~550W 으로 조절하였다. 카본 grain을 Si 및 Slide Glass 기판위에 1$\AA$/sec의 증착율을 유지하면서 증착하였다. 카본 박막의 박막은 평균두께는 0.3~0.4$\mu\textrm{m}$이며 SEM을 이용하여 단면을 관찰하였다. 라만 분광분석을 통하여 비정질 카본 박막의 결합특성을 조사하였고 scratch tester를 이용하여 박막의 밀착력을 관찰하였다. 그리고 카본 박막의 전도도 특성을 알고자 비저항을 측정하였으며, 박막의 성분 분석을 위한 AES 분석을 하였다. 1)AES 결과:표면에서와 박막 내부에서는 불순물인 산소나 질소의 함량이 거의 존재하지 않음을 관찰하였다. 2)경도:1,000~1,400kg/mm2 3)라만 분광 분석:300V의 이온 에너지를 분기로 박막 구조의 변화에 의한 스팩트럼의 변화를 보였다. 4)비저항:10-2~10-1$\Omega$.cm

Evaluation of the Giggenbach Bottle Method with Artificial Fumarolic Gases (인공 분기공 가스를 이용한 Giggenbach bottle 법의 평가)

  • We aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of the Giggenbach bottle method and develop the related pretreatment and analytical methods using artificial fumarolic gases. The artificial fumarolic gases were generated by mixing $CO_2$, CO, $H_2S$, $SO_2$, $H_2$, and $CH_4$ gas streams with a $N_2$ stream sparged through an acidic medium containing HCl and HF, with their compositions varied by adjusting the gas flow rates. The resultant fumarolic gases were collected into an evacuated bottle partially filled with a NaOH absorption solution. While non-condensible gases such as CO, $H_2S$, and $CH_4$ accumulated in the headspace of the bottle, acidic components including $CO_2$, $SO_2$, HCl, and HF that were dissolved into the alkaline solution. Like other acidic components, $H_2S$ also dissolved into the solution, but it reacted with dissolved $Cd^{2+}$ to precipitate as CdS when $Cd(CH_3COO)_2$ was added. The non-condensible gases were analyzed on a gas chromatography. Then, CdS precipitates were separated from the alkaline solution by filtration, and they were pretreated with $H_2O_2$ to oxidize CdS-bound sulfide into sulfate. In addition, a portion of the solution was also pretreated with $H_2O_2$ to oxidize sulfite to sulfate. Following the pretreatment, the resultant samples were analyzed for $SO_4^{2-}$, $Cl^-$ and $F^-$ on an ion chromatography. In the meanwhile, dissolved $CO_2$ was analyzed on a total organic carbon-inorganic carbon analyzer without such pretreatment. According to our experimental results, the measured concentrations of the fumarolic gases were shown to be proportional to the gas flow rates, indicating that the Giggenbach bottle method is adequate for monitoring volcanic gas. The pretreatment and analytical methods employed in this study may also enhance the accuracy and reproducibility of the Giggenbach bottle method.

  • A program aiming at predicting dynamic characteristics of a Liquid Rocket Engine(LRE) was developed and examined to trace entire LRE operation. In the startup period, transient characteristics of the propellant flows were predicted and validated with hydraulic tests data. An arrangement of each component for the pipelines was based on an operating circuit of open cycle LRE. The flow rate ratio for the gas generator and the main chamber was determined to mimic that of real open cycle LRE. Individual component modeling at its transient was completed and was integrated into the system prediction program. Essential parameters of the component dynamic characteristics were examined in an integrated fashion.

Optimal Design Method of 1-Port Surge Protective Device Based on Zinc Oxide Varistor (선화아연바리스터 기반의 1-포트 서지보호장치의 최적 설계 기법)

  • This paper reports a Surge Protective Device (SPD) that is used to protect an automatic metering interface (AMI) power supplies of communication equipment on a low-voltage distribution system from a lightning current. The surge protective device (SPD) can be classified as one-port SPDs and two-port SPDs with decoupling elements depending on the connection type. The protection of internal systems against the lightning current may require a systematic approach consisting of coordinated SPDs. To deal with this, the definition of a lightning protection zone (LPZ) was studied and interpreted through a theoretical review. Because the lightning current resulting from a lightning surge is considerably high, there is limited protection from one SPD; therefore, coordinated cascaded MOV-based SPDs are installed to solve this problem. Regarding the power grid mentioned in this paper, a class II SPD for the low-voltage distribution system installed on the border of LPZ1 and LPZ2, which establish a protection coordination with the Arrester (LA, SA) that corresponds to the LPZO installed on the MOF stage connected to one system were designed to protect various communication (control) equipment, including the automatic meter reading system inside the branch-type electric supply panel of a building, not the incoming side of one system. In addition, performance-related tests were done by a comparison with the existing method through testing, and the optimal design was achieved for the 1-port SPD that uses a series connection and can bleed load current without any decoupling element.

Rotating helium-recondensing system using Roebuck refrigerator (Roebuck 냉동기를 응용한 회전형 헬륨 재응축 장치)

  • This paper describes a design of the helium-recondensing system utilizing cascade Roebuck refrigerators. Superconducting generator or motor has the superconducting field winding in its rotor that should be continuously cooled by cryogen. Since liquid helium transfer from the stationary system to the rotor is problematic, cumbersome, and inefficient, the novel concept of a rotating helium-recondensing system is contrived. The vaporized cold helium inside the rotor is isothermally compressed by centrifugal force and expanded sequentially in cascade refrigerators until the helium is recondensed at 4.2K. There is no helium coupling between the rotor and the stationary liquid helium storage. Thermodynamic analysis of the cascade refrigeration system is performed to determine the key design parameters. The loss mechanisms are also explained to identify entropy generation that degrades the performance of the system.

  • 기계공악은 Service Engineering 이라는 일면을 지니고 있을 뿐만아니라 직접 기계류를 생산하지 않은 업체중에서도 기업상으로 또한 학문상으로는 본래 기계공업의 영역에 속하는 산업이면서 산 업적, 학문적 전문화에의하여 분화된 공업도 많으므로 기계기술자의 역할도 광범위할 수 밖에 없 다. 특히 우리 나라에서 그동안의 사정을 살펴 볼때 각종 생필품의 수요급증과 정부의 수출산업 우선정책등으로 완제품생산규모의 plant도입에의한 제품생산공업이 위주였으므로 제산업이 기반 조건인 기계공업성장의 과정이 경시되어 왔으며 따라서 대학에서 기계공학을 전공한 기계기술자 가 일반적인 기계의 설계와 제작을 다루는 기회보다도 특정기계장치의 운전내지는 시설의 영선을 담당하는 경우가 허다하고 그 외에 광범위한 분야에서 다양한 업무를 취급하여 왔다. 이러한 사 정을 감안하여 본연구는 기계기술자가 섬유, 제지, 비료, 정유등 화학계 공장을 위시하여 채광, 금속, 전자, 방직등 물리계공장 및 발전소 토건업등 기타 소위 비기계공업계열의 기업에서 실제에 어떠한 내용의 작업 또는 직무에 임하고 있는가의 실태를 조사분석하여 기계기술자의 인력수급계 획이나 대학교과과정상의 참고자료에 공할 것을 일차적으로 시도한 것이다.

A Study on the Highway Ramp Section for Simulation of Commercial Vehicle ESC Assesment (상용 ESC 평가 시뮬레이션을 위한 국내 고속도로 진출입로 연구)

  • Commercial vehicle ESC assessment for curvature road was conducted. The previous study of ESC activation condition for losing controllability utilizing the test protocols of double lane change and sine with dwell method was conducted without considering the geometric complexity of roadway design. Since critical rollover accidents were frequently observed in the exit ramp zone, variety of curve, slope and bank have been added for analysis conditions. Detailed feature of the ramp including location, dimension and design characteristics have been analyzed from the typical trumpet type ramp design. Analyzing accident data from 2008, two specific ramps have been selected due to their complexity in design and severity in steering operation.
