Objectives: The purpose of this study was to report the effect of complex Korean medicine treatments on Essential Tremor Plus (ET plus) patient aggravated by a traffic accident. Methods: We treated an ET plus patient with complex Korean medicine. The patient's resting tremor and kinetic tremor in both hands intensified after experiencing a traffic accident, with tremor in the left hand being worse than that in the right hand. Effect of complex Korean medicine treatment was evaluated using Fahn-Tolosa-Marin Tremor Rating Scale (FTMTRS), Numerical Rating Scale (NRS), and Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI). Results: After 26 weeks of treatments (acupuncture, pharmacupuncture, cupping, Iigyeungbyunqi-therapy, and herbal medicine), the FTMTRS decreased from 38 to 15. NRS of Lt. upper limb pain decreased from NRS 9 to 0. BAI score also decreased from 31 to 17. Conclusions: Complex Korean medicine could be used to treat patients with ET plus aggravated by a traffic accident.

아현동 밸브기지 폭발사고(94. 12. 7), 대구 지하철공사장 폭발사고(95. 4. 28), 부천의 LPG충전소 폭발사고(98. 9. 11)는 세계적으로도 그 유래를 찾아보기 힘든 사고들이다. 가스의 소비가 늘어나면서 크고 작은 가스사고 특히 대형사고의 위험성은 항상 주변에 상존하고 있다. 대형사고사례는 사고조사와 분석을 통하여 많은 것을 교훈으로 얻을 수 있다. 그러나 부천사고의 직접적인 원인이 아직도 규명되지 못하고 있다. (중략)

본 논문에서는 부천시 핵심 국가기반시설로서 부천시민의 삶의 질에 가장 큰 영향을 끼치는 요인인 수돗물 공급서비스의 위험요인를 파악하고 이를 해소하는 방안을 마련하며, 국제 및 국내적으로 테러의 위험이 높아가고 있는 가운데 재난대비역량을 강화하여 시민이 수돗물을 안심하고 이용할 수 있도록 수돗물 공급역량 강화 방안을 마련하였다. 본 논문에서는 팔당댐 수원지에서 부천시 정수장까지 원수 공급 과정부터 정수장내 취수/정수/배수과정을 거쳐 소비자에게 공급하는 전과정에서 위험요인과 개선방안을 도출하였으며 향후계획 수립 방향을 제시하였다.

Tracheobronchopathia osteochondroplastica (TO) is a rare idiopathic tracheobronchial abnormality characterized by diffuse cartilaginous and osseous nodules protruding into the airway lumen of the trachea and bronchus. TO is easy to misdiagnose because of nonspecific symptoms and chest CT scan with pathologic biopsy is necessary for definitive diagnosis. We report two cases of patient with TO who underwent laryngomicroscopic biopsy and tracheostomy with literature review.

Oculogyric crisis is an acute dystonia involving ocular muscles characterized by sustained conjugate upward or lateral deviation of the eyes. Metronidazole is a commonly used antimicrobial agent in treatment of anaerobic infections. However, its long-term use can cause toxic encephalopathy particularly in patients with hepatic dysfunction. Here, we describe a case of oculogyric crisis as a presenting manifestation of metronidazole-induced encephalopathy.

Objectives This study aimed to investigate the effect of SJS non-resistance technique-facial palsy (SJSNRT-F) using Korean medicine treatment on facial nerve palsy through three case studies. Methods SJSNRT-F, with other Korean medicine treatments, was performed on three patients who underwent treatment at OO Korean Medicine Hospital from March 2021 to August 2021. Additionally, the House-Brackmann grading system (H-B grade) and Yanagihara's unweighted grading system (Yanagihara's score) were evaluated in these patients. Results There was a significant increase in the Yanagihara scores. Except for one patient who was discharged early, two patients showed improvement in the H-B grade. Conclusions This study suggests that Korean medicine treatment including SJSNRT-F may affect the treatment of facial nerve palsy. However, better clinical studies are needed to confirm the same.

Objectives: The aim of this study was to investigate the latest clinical studies on Korean medicine treatment of post-concussion syndrome (PCS) in the Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure Database (CNKI). Methods: We searched the last 10 years of clinical studies discussing Oriental medicine-based treatments for PCS in the CNKI database. The search focused on the authors, publication year, type of study, purpose of the study, method and duration of treatment, evaluation criteria, and results of each article. Results: Of the 22 selected studies, 1 was a non-randomized controlled trial (nRCT), 2 were case series, and 19 were randomized controlled trials (RCTs). Treatments included oral herbal medicine in 16 studies, oriental medicine through external use in 2 studies, acupuncture in 3 studies, and traditional Chinese medicine injection in 2 studies. The most frequently used herb was Cnidii Rhizoma (川芎). All 22 studies confirmed the efficacy of Oriental medicine treatments. Conclusion: More varied and scientifically designed clinical studies are required to develop treatments for PCS. The results of this study could be used as basic data for further PCS studies.

Leiomyoma is a common benign tumor from smooth muscle cells, mostly in the uterus. Peritoneal leiomyomas (PLs) are extremely rare and mostly reported as disseminated peritoneal leiomyomatosis. However, to the best of out knowledge, radiologic findings of isolated PL are not reported in English literature. Herein, we introduce the radiologic findings of PL mimicking hepatic mass in a 34-year-old female. CT showed a mass with curvilinear heterogeneous enhancement at the liver's peripheral area. On MRI, the mass showed gradual and heterogeneous enhancement on gadoxetic acid-enhanced MRI and diffusion restriction. The radiologic diagnosis was a benign hepatic tumor, such as degenerated hemangioma, adenoma, and inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor; however, the mass was diagnosed as PL pathologically.

Under the recent situation that there increase the efforts to facilitate DFS(driver feedback sign) in school zones and children's protection areas caused by severity of traffic impact on children, the current study aims at predictively evaluating how and to what extent the reduced car speed is influential to the reduction of traffic accidents in elementary schools located in Buchon city by analyzing the velocity variation before and after DFS installation including its reduction ratio in traffic accidents as well as related literature survey. It, furthermore, aims at identifying applicable effectiveness in DFS operation for elementary schoolers in Buchon based on the data collected.

수술 시 시행되는 마취 과정에서 저혈압, 빈맥 등의 합병증이 다양한 정도로 발생한다. 이는 환자의 수술 후 심근경색이나 급성 신장 손상과 같은 심각한 합병증을 야기할 수 있으며 이러한 합병증들은 환자를 사망에 이르게 하는 원인이 되기도 한다. 본 연구에서는 머신러닝 기법을 활용해 전신마취 유도 중 저혈압 발생 환자를 예측하고자 한다. 순천향대학교 부천병원에서 수집된 207명 환자의 데이터를 이용하여 저혈압 발생 환자를 탐지하는 모델을 구축하였다. 의무 기록정보에 나타난 성별, 나이, 몸무게, 키, 신체적 상태 정보와 마취 유도 단계의 생체 신호 정보를 이용하였다. 신체적 상태 정보를 제외한 전체 피쳐를 모두 사용하였을 때, 탐지 정확도 68.06%, 관련 논문을 바탕으로 중요 피쳐만을 사용하여 실험하였을 때, 정확도 71.53%였으며, 환자의 신체적 상태 피쳐를 포함하여 실험하였을 때, 정확도 75%로 가장 우수한 결과를 얻었다.
