Africa was seen as not only the continent of famine and diseases, but also a safari and the Nature's repository. However, these images are only the fragments of information about the African continent. So, we have to understand and recognize the origin of Africa in aspect of its learning and the mythology as well as the truth of the African as modern human origins. Moreover, we have to do our endeavor to have a good perspective about Africa as our future partner somewhat less than the wretched continent that we applaud their effort to the pursuit of stability and the development in terms of their modern cities, economy and politics and we have to aid and send relief cargoes simply.

  • With the advance of digital technology, new methods which acquire color information and combine it with various contents are emerging. Color has some effect on emotion while it gives some information as component of an image. In addition, change in emotion and sensation from color stimulus makes some change in cognition. This research investigate the effect of color overlay on cognition depending on emotional state. With this goal, subjects consisting of 10 men and 10 women solved some problems with color overlay of red, orange, and green after watching short video clips which intend to induce target emotion. Experimental results show that red color overlay under positive emotion significantly reduces the average score of solving problems, while green overlay under negative emotion significantly increases it. It is also analyzed that there is not statistically significant difference in cognitive function with color overlay while it is significantly better under positive emotion than negative emotion without color overlay.

The foodservice companies have been choosing a type of advertising called Product Placement(PPL) because it is unconsciously shown more often than other types of advertisements while customers are watching a movie or TV drama. Therefore, the aims of this research were to investigate the influence of the customers' perception of PPL inserted into TV dramas on brand image and purchasing intention. Additionally, present study performed to identify the differences between Korean and Chinese customers. For the survey, the study used both offline and online sampling methods, and the analyzed data was from 150 Korean and 150 Chinese respondents. As results, the more respondents were positive and familiar about PPL, the higher the brand image and purchasing intention. Chinese consumers had positive perception of PPL, which positively influenced the brand image and purchasing intention while Korean consumers' ethical awareness about PPL had a negative influence. Therefore, the Korean foodservice industry needs to differentiate the strategies for the PPL marketing between the Korean and Chinese market.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the teacher-students interactions shown in the images of elementary science class by preservice teachers. We applied nine analysis criteria in three domains such as emotional support (climate, regard for student perspectives, teacher sensitivity), classroom organization (instructional learning formats, behavior management, productivity), and instructional support (quality of feedback, language modeling, concept development) in the aspects of positive or negative interactions The results show that majority of student-teachers tended to prefer positive interactions especially regarding instructional learning formats or concept development. For the image of avoided class, they tended to show negative interactions related to instructional learning formats or regard for student perspectives. However, they showed extremely lower frequencies for some categories of negative interactions. Female preservice teachers tended to have slightly higher frequencies for some positive interactions than their counterpart. The findings indicate possible approaches to teachers' professional development and further research.

  • In this study, we investigated the elementary school students' images of science class and the factors influencing their formations. 280 sixth graders were selected from nine elementary schools in Gyeonggi province and Gangwon province and the DASCT-C (Draw-A-Science-Class-Test Checklist) was administered. In addition, four students were individually interviewed in order to investigate their responses deeply. Analyses of the results revealed that the students' images of science class for four science subjects (physics, chemistry, biology, and earth science) were more 'student-centered' than 'teacher-centered' or 'neutral'. The students of the teacher with student-centered image of science class had also more student-centered images than those with teacher-centered images. Many students answered that the main factors affecting their images of science class were the experiences of impressed or funny science classes, the perceptions of wanted science classes, the active science learning experiences, the educational experiences outside the school curriculum, and the negative science learning experiences. Educational implications of these findings are discussed.
