A Study on Measuring the Change of the Response Results in Likert 5-Point Scale Measurement (리커트 5점척도에서 자극에 의한 응답결과의 변화 측정에 관한 연구)

  • This study examines how and which direction respondents who participated in 5-point Likert scale surveys change their initial responses when they are given an identical second survey after certain treatments. The research employs three identical questionnaires (first, second and third surveys) to analyze survey results based on group differences, kinds of treatment, survey purposes, and response change direction and the degree. This paper concludes that, first, it is significant that specialist groups do not change their initial responses compared to a general librarian group. Second, there are no differences by survey purpose; however, participants tend to change their initial responses by others' opinions rather than by previous use experiences. Third, participants who initially answered positively tend not to change their responses, and most participants who answered negatively change their initial responses in a positive direction. Fourth, when there are changes, participants change their initial responses by less than two points, and most of them change by one point. Finally, the hypothesis that middle responses change most and that participants who respond at both ends do not change their opinion was rejected by the finding that participants who answered on the negative end tend to change their initial responses in a positive direction.

  • This research, which was conducted for dental hygienists, intended to check out what factors have an influence on their practices by knowledge and attitude on radiation safety management (RSM). This study performed a survey on such an issue from July 2 to August 30, 2012 for 220 dental hygienists who worked in Busan, Gyeongnam areas. The data was analysed using the IBM SPSS Statistics 21.0 program. The results were as follows: As a result of the knowledge according to the general characteristics and RSM, a statistically meaningful difference was found according to the education on radiation and wearing apron. As for the attitude according to the general characteristics and RSM, a statistically meaningful difference was found according to the education on radiation and wearing apron. As to the practice according to the general characteristics and RSM, a statistically meaningful difference was found according to the education on radiation, wearing thermo luminescent dosimeter and wearing apron. When the analysis of safety management practice for radiation was conducted with the independent variables such as knowledge, altitude and health concerns about radiography, it turned out that the factors having an effect on the practice were altitude and health concerns by that order.

  • 본 연구는 2012년 4월 2일부터 2012년 4월 8일까지 519명의 대전 소재 4년제 대학생들을 대상으로 스마트폰의 학습 활용에 대한 실태를 설문하여 학생들이 느끼는 학습 활용도와 학습 활용상의 문제점을 도출해 보고 또한 학년별, 성별 차이를 SPSS 18 패키지를 사용하여 분석하였다. 설문 결과 스마트폰의 학습 활용성에 대한 인식은 "보통"이라는 응답이 40.6%에 달하고 "그렇다"라는 응답과 "정말 그렇다"라고 하는 긍정적 응답은 26.6% 및 5%인 반면 "그렇지않다", "정말 그렇지 않다"라는 부정적 응답은 21.9% 및 5.9%를 나타내 학문적 활용성은 의미를 찾기 어려운 결과를 나타냈다. 성별, 학년별 차이는 통계적으로 유의할 정도의 차이를 보이지 않았다. 한편 스마트폰이 학습 활용에 있어 가장 큰 문제점이 무엇인가 하는 응답에는 "주로 엔터테인먼트에만 쓰게 된다"는 응답이 47.3%로 가장 높은 응답율을 보였고 "학습할 콘텐츠가 별로 없다"는 응답이 20.48%, "화면이 작아 학습에 부적합하다"는 응답이 17.1%로 뒤를 이었다. 이 역시 학년별로는 통계적으로 유의할 정도의 차이를 보이지 않았지만 성별로는 이유의 차이가 있었다.

Investigation on Priming Effect of Image in Social Survey (사회조사에서 사진자료의 점화효과 분석)

  • The object of this study is to investigate how to effect on the response characteristic if the image were used in the internet survey about the social issues. Especially in case of the social issues with pros and cons opinions, the effects of the image on the response characteristics were investigated. In this study, the response attitude of the 4 different groups to 3 social issues was measured at March, 2013. The 4 different groups are following: group with only text information, group with positive image, group with negative image, and group with both image. It is shown in the outcome of analysis on survey that the group with negative images tend to respond negatively and the group with positive images tend to respond positively. It means the priming effect. As a conclusion of this study, if the image were used in the social investigation, the image should be selected discreetly and the effect of image should be reflected in the analysis in consideration of the priming effect of the image.

  • The government set up "national happiness, the hope of a new era of national vision under' job center of the creative economy" to achieve by national goals in the first and figure achieved through the establishment of new growth engines of the youth unemployment problem solve and national level there are a number of business start-up support. September 8, 2015 announced the Government's look at the '2016 Year of the budget, the government for new growth engines greatly promoted the venture entrepreneurship ecosystem revitalization and research and development (R & D) the business for enhanced performance in 2017. According to the direction of this study is to evaluate the current creative economy business incubator at the comparison whether the correct orientation mainly entrepreneurs, entrepreneurs preliminary recognition of student entrepreneurship ecosystem. Entrepreneurs 113 people in that way, 71 people pre-entrepreneurs, students 60, workers were founding agencies conducted an online survey of 47 people, 16 people Investors, 50 public and 11 additional persons including a total of 368 people. This study is in line with the orientation of these entrepreneurs to create economic status and recognition of the Republic of Korea entrepreneurship ecosystem, pre- entrepreneurs, students will examine the comparative analysis around. Analysis, social perception of entrepreneurship is somewhat higher than it was confirmed that the negative response of 32.2% to 36.3% of positive response. Social awareness of entrepreneurs showed a 2-fold higher response rate than the negative of response of 17.1% to 41.7% responding that positive recognition for the current start-up environment is bad, the response is good response to higher response rate than 23.5% to 41.1% It showed. The percentage of responses that better respect the entrepreneurship environment of the future Republic of Korea showed a higher response rate than the rate of 23% in response to deteriorate to 41.2%, with 52.9% awareness is the percentage that responded that the bad part about the ruthless Korea's entrepreneurship environment in China good part as response rate approximately three times greater than the 17.7% showed high response rates. The Perceptions and Purchase Intentions of Health Food Consumers (건강기능식품에 대한 인식 및 구매의도 연구)

  • We investigated consumer perceptions of and purchase intentions for health foods. Data were collected from 454 adults over the age of 20 years living in Seoul and Gyeonggi province, from May 10 to June 5, 2010. Those that "hardly ever drink" (41.4%) were most prevalent in terms of drinking activity, whereas 80.8% of respondents did not smoke. Also, those who responded "hardly ever exercise" ranked highest; although 43.8% in fact exercised frequently. Of all respondents, 44.5% admitted to suffering slightly from stress. A total of 59.5% of respondents opined "I am healthy but I do worry about health", and "exercise" topped the list of approved (37.2% of respondents) health care methods. We also found that 83.5% of respondents claimed to have tried health foods, whereas in the case of having no taking experience, 60% had not purchased such foods because, in their view, this was unnecessary. The extent of concerns about health foods scored 3.09, and the level of purchase intentions for health food was high, with a score of 3.40. Therefore, all of government, producers, distributors, and academic researchers must provide consumers with accurate and complete information, and need to collaborate in the development of consumer education programs on health foods. This will enhance consumer interest in such foods, and empower logical choices.

Moderating effect of hope between fear of negative evaluation and self-esteem among workers (직장인들의 부정적 평가에 대한 두려움과 자아존중감 사이에서 희망의 조절효과)

  • This study was conducted with the purpose of examining the moderating effect of hope between fear of negative evaluation and self-esteem of workers. For this purpose, a total of 34 workplaces located in Seoul, Daejeon, and Chungcheong were selected and surveyed, and a total of 301 copies of the collected questionnaires were analyzed excluding unfaithful responses. The collected data were subjected to correlation analysis, and regression analysis of moderating effect. The research results are as follows. First, fear of negative evaluation did not show a significant correlation with other variables. However, there was a significant positive correlation between the remaining variables. Second, as a result of regression analysis of moderating effect, the moderating effect of agency thinking of hope was identified between fear of negative evaluation and self-esteem. However, the moderating effect of the pathway thinking of hope has not been identified. Finally, based on this study, we discussed ways to increase the self-esteem that was lowered due to the fear of negative evaluation, and specifically suggested program development and policies using hope.

A Comparative Analysis of Individual Attitudes toward Immigrants in Korea, Taiwan, and Japan (한국, 대만, 일본의 이민자에 대한 태도)

  • This research examines individual attitudes toward immigration and the determinants of these attitudes in Korea, Taiwan, and Japan. Using 2003 National Identity module from ISSP data, descriptive statistics showed that Taiwan seems to be the most opposed to immigration, Japan in the middle, and Korea the least opposed. Despite being the least opposed to immigration, Koreans agreed most strongly with having a homogeneous sense of ethnic identity. In addition, Korean respondents saw immigrants are being good for the national economy, but not for cultural diversity. Binary logistic regression analysis showed that age is negatively associated with the individual's attitude toward immigrants in Korea, Taiwan, and Japan. Effects of educational attainment is only significant in Taiwan. Manual worker and others, and those who work in farming, mining, and fishing tend to have negative attitudes toward increases in number of immigrants. Also, individual's values toward immigrants/immigration are related to the individual's attitude toward increases in number of immigrants in Korea, Japan, and Taiwan.

Response Rate and Community Context: Comparison of U.S. Census and the General Social Survey (사회조사 응답률에 영향을 미치는 지역의 경제.사회적 요인: 2000년 미국 센서스와 2002년 미국 종합사회조사 비교)

  • How much do people living in different communities vary in their survey responses? A few studies have examined the effect of the social environment on survey response. Making generalizations from these studies by looking at the effect of social environment on survey response is complicated due to differences in survey dimensions, including incentives, survey mode, types of response rates, and geographic levels. Using the 2000 Census Final Response Rates(CFRR) and the 2002 General Social Survey Response Rates(GSSRR) linked with the 2000 Census in the United States, we attempt to understand how community characteristics associated with survey cooperation vary between data sets. We found that people living in poor area are less likely to cooperate with the Census but more likely to cooperate with GSS, while people living in an area with more minors under 18 is more likely to cooperate with both Census and the GSS. By using two data sources with contrasting survey dimensions within the United States, our findings have implications for survey field operations and hopefully will invigorate studies about response rates in a Korean context.

The Impact of Managerial Response to Negative Customer Reviews on the Success of Accommodation Services: Evidence from Online Accommodation Reservation Platforms (부정적 리뷰의 대응 전략이 숙박시설 성공에 미치는 영향: 숙박 중개 플랫폼 사례)

  • This research investigates how a service provider's response(s) to negative customer reviews influences the success of accommodation services in the context of online accommodation reservation platforms. Specifically, we attempt to comprehend the important role of attentive and instant responses to users' negative review comments in fostering future success by analyzing panel data on 856 motels registered in the largest accommodation reservation platform in Korea. The results present that response volume (Attentiveness) and faster responses (Timeliness) are positively associated with success. We further find that the two review-response strategies have a positive interaction effect on success. Moreover, we show that the effect of review responses is strengthened when the reputation of motels drops. The key findings of this research offer a set of practical guidelines for accommodation owners to achieve business success by effectively managing customer reviews and claims
