Mobile Augmented Reality for Teaching Bar Placing (철근 배근 교육을 위한 증강현실 컨텐츠 개발)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop an mobile augmented reality for students to learn bar placing work, which is increasingly utilized in the construction field. In order to improve the understanding of the structural drawing, a structural drawing is used as a marker image, and an augmented reality is realized by superimposing a virtual 3D bar placing model that is placed according to the structural drawing on the screen. In addition to the 3D modeling, the contents are developed so as to help students to learn the interpretation method of 2D drawings, the development and splices of reinforcing steel, bar fabricating practice according to KCI structural concrete design code, and the process of bar placing. The results show that the augmented reality is positively evaluated in terms of interface style, perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, perceived enjoyment, attitude toward using, and intention to use. The augmented reality is worth to be introduced because it has advantages of visualization and interaction in terms of education.

Structural Design of Aluminum Sandwich High Speed Car-ferry (알루미늄샌드위치 초고속 카훼리의 구조설계)

  • Aluminum-faced honeycomb-cored sandwich panels as hull plating can provide structural weight savings when compared with the conventional aluminum single panels. The aim of the present paper is to confirm the feasibility of the sandwich panels for the hull material of fast ferries through designing an 80m class proto-type fast passenger/car ferry. For the case study, the structural design for the same principal particulars using the aluminum single panels is also performed, and the design results for the two types will be compared to confirm the weight savings between the two construction methods. The economics of a ship, being comprised of the shipbuilding cost and ship operaing cost, will require a cost analysis including a quantitative comparison between the two construction methods and the results of the cost analysis will be presented. Finally, the reasons why aluminum sandwich panels have not presently been used as the hull material for large size fast vessels will be discussed.

Initial Equilibrium State Analysis of Cable Stayed Bridges Considering Axial Deformation (축방향 변형을 고려한 사장교의 초기평형상태 해석)

  • The study proposed the initial equilibrium state analysis method that considers axial deformation, in order to accurately determine the initial shape of a cable-stayed bridge. Sepecifically, the proposed method adopted the successive iteration method. In order to evaluate appropriate initial cable force introduced in the initial equilibrium state analysis, parametric studies were performed and a useful linear analysis method proposed. The geometrically nonlinear static behaviors of cable-stayed bridges were considered, using three-dimensional frame element and elastic catenary cable element. The usefulness and applicability of the analytic method proposed in this study were demonstrated using numerical examples, including a real cable-stayed bridge. The algorithm, is applicable in cases wherein axial deformation is not adopted in the fabrication camber, or final cable force is adjusted to eliminate construction and fabrication errors occurring during construction.

A Convergence Work Experience of Nursing Students under Preceptorship (간호대학생의 프리셉터십 융복합 실습 경험)

  • This study is to understand the work experiences of nursing students under preceptorship in 3+1 year program, and suggests effective practice to prevent stopping nursing profession. Four focus group interviews were made with 23 nursing students in 3+1 year program. Data were analyzed through the grounded theory of Corbin and Strauss' (2008). Through comparative analysis, central phenomenon of was 'looking for lighthouse'. The causal condition was 'opportunity to learning practice'. Contextual conditions were 'mood of being a true nurse', 'getting vivid information about clinical field', and 'lack of students perception about preceptorship'. Intervention conditions were 'work environment', 'proactive learning' and 'attachment to the hospital'. Action/interaction strategies were 'adjustment to diverse demands of patients and guardians', 'feeling as if it were one's own affair', and 'looking as much as knowing'. Consequence were 'pride' and 'itinerary of learning as a new graduate nurse'. This study is meaningful because it gives useful basis to nursing students in the process of 'looking for lighthouse'.

The Finite Element Analysis for Calculations of Equivalent Elastic Constants Using the Homogenization Method (균질화기법과 유한요소법을 이용한 복합재료의 등가탄성계수 산정)

  • This paper discusses the homogenization method to determine effective average elastic constants of a linear structure by considering its microstructure. A detailed description on the homogenization method is given for the linear elastic material and then the finite element approximation is performed for an investigation of elastic properties. An asymptotic expansion is carried out in the cross-section area, or in the unit cell. Two and three lay-up structures made up of individual isotropic constituents are chosen for numerical examples to check discrepancies between results generated by this theoretical development and the conventional approach. Asymptotic characteristics of the process in extracting the stiffness of structure locally formed by spatial repetitions yield underestimated values of stiffness. These discrepancies are detected by the asymptotic corrective term which is ascribed to considerations of microscopic perturbations and proved in the finite element formulation. The asymptotic analysis is the more reasonable in analysing the composite material, rather than the conventional approach to calculate the macroscopic average for elastic properties.

사용자 인터페이스 디자인을 위한 Video Protocol 분석 도구 개발에 관한 연구

  • 디자이너에게 필요한 정보가 제품의 성격이 변함에 따라 변하면서 정보 수집의 흐름도 달라져가고 있다. 지금까 지의 디자인 정보 수집이 단순 설문조사에서 사용자의 사용상황을 관찰하는 보다 실질적인조사 혹은 컨텍스트 디 자인(Context Design: 사용환경을 고려한 디자인)으로 바뀌어 가고 있다. 그러나 기존의 조사분석방법들이 특정한 면(인지적 혹은 행위적)에 편중된 자료 수집에 초점이 맞추어져 있어서 다양한 정보의 수집과 이러한 정보의 통합 적 관리가 어려운 문제점을 가지고 있다. 정보의 수집과 통합적 관리의 어려움이 발생하게 되는 원인을 좀더 구체 적으로 살펴보면 첫째, 수잡되는 데이터의 문제이다. 데이터의 성격을 사용자인 개인의 조작행위에 중점을 두거나 또는 작업상황이나 사용자의 성격/선호도와 같은 부분에 중점을 두기 때문에 서로 상호작용하여 사용자 인터페이스에 큰 영향을 미치는 이 두 유형의 데이터에 관한 분석을 어렵게 하는 원인이 되고 있다. 둘째, 적당한 데이터 수집도구 (data logger)의 미비를 들 수 있다. 이것은 기존의 Data logger들은 정보를 문자나 숫자 또는 특수문자로서 정보를 추출하게 됨으로써 데이터를 뽑는 당시부터 정보가 추출자로인하여 1차적으로 가공이 된다는 점이다. 이것은 보다 실질적이고 분석단계에서 보다 면밀한 분석이 이루어 질 수 있는 중요한 데이터가 유출될 수도 있다는 것을 의미하는 것이다. 마지막으로 위에서 언급했던 두 유형의 데이터를 동시에 분석할 수 있는 방법의 부재와 실질적인 데이터를 분석하여 이를 디자인에 활용할 수 있는 정보로 가공할 수 있는 도구가 마련되어 있지 않다는 점이다. 디자인 작업은 종합적인 시각화 과정임에 비해 분석된 결과가 비시각적이며 위에서 언급했듯이 분절된 정보가 되기 쉽기 때문에 이를 디자인에 곧바로 적용시키기 어려운 점이 있다. 이에 본 연구는 기존의 바용성 평가를 위한 분석도구들이 갖는 문제 점들 해결하여 제품의 사용자 인터페이스 디자인 개발과정에서 활용할 수 있는 평가 분석도구를 개발하는 것을 목표로 한다. 이를 위해 첫째, 다양한 유형의 정보를 포함하는 비디오 정보를 선정하였따. 둘째, 데이터를 다양한 측면에서 추출할 수 있는 Data logger를 개발하였다. 셋째, 데이터를 시각적으로 정리하고 분석할 수 있는 도구를 제안한다. 마지막으로 인터페이스 디자인에서 여러 가지 디자인안을 도출해 내는 작업에 이용할 수 있는 종합화과정을 개발한다. 이러한 일련의 과정이 통합된 컴퓨터 시스템 안에서 이루어지도록 프로그램을 개발하여 정보의 유용성을 높일 수 있도록 한다.

  • The usefulness of walls in the structural planning of multistory buildings has long been recognized. When walls are situated in advantageous positions in a buildings, they can be very efficient in resisting lateral load. Specially coupled shear wall system is the primary lateral load resisting system of buildings. It is customary to refer to such walls as being 'coupled' by coupling beams. The coupling beams must exhibit excellent strength, stiffness ductility and energy dissipation capacity. To achieve these demands for steel coupling beam, steel coupling beam with Face Bearing Plate(FBP) embedded in the reinforced concrete walls is proposed. A comprehensive experimental test involving 2 steel coupling beam with and without FBP has been performed. Through experimental study, the evaluation of the advantage of that was establish and proposed the failure mode.

Conceptual Structural Design Method in Integrated Design System for Tall Buildings (초고층건물의 통합설계시스템에서 개념구조설계법 개발)

  • The conceptual structural design consists of selecting structural material and form of the building, producing a preliminary dimensional layout. The information such as height of the building use, typical live load, wind velocity, design acceleration, maximum lateral deflection, span, story height is a important factor in conceptual design phase. In this case, the knowledge solutions for past similar problems cam be used in the process of defining and finding a solution to the design problems. In this paper, the conceptual structural design method using case-based reasoning which is intended to assist engineers in the conceptual phase of the structural design of tall buildings is introduced. Inductive retrieval method and nearest-neighbor retrieval method are used for selecting structural system and similar design case, respectively.

  • Multi-layered stone masonry monuments, such as stone pagoda can be modeled as a multi-degrees of freedom system. The dynamic behavior of these structures are mainly influenced by contour condition of contacting surface of stones. In this case the mass of the system can be easily estimated, mean while the estimation of stiffness at junction is not simple. In this paper a method for estimating the spring constant at the contacting surface of stone in proposed. This paper describes a method of computational modelling technique for structural analysis of stone pagodas using measurement of natural frequency and eigenvalue analysis. For this purpose Five story stone pagoda in Cchongnimsa site was selected as a model.

  • This paper suggests study of basic structure design and structural analysis for the twin car-ferries. The rules and methodology for the analysis of strength of medium and small high speed vessels with a length of more than 50m and a width / ratio of more than 12, such as car-ferries, have not been clarified yet. Therefore, in this paper, the scantling of the members is based on the Korea Classification standards, and the car-ferries standards were additionally applied to verify the structural strength of the design. The results of this study are expected to be useful as basic data related to structural design and structural analysis of high speed twin car-ferries.
