Toxicity of the Tiger Puffer, Fugu rubripes rubripes, Sold at Jagalchi Fish Market in Pusan (부산시내 자갈치 어시장에서 시판되는 자주복 Fugu rubripes rubripes의 독성)

  • Totally, twenty seven specimens of tiger puffer, Fugu rubripes rubripes were collected at Jagalchi fish market in Pusan, Korea during January, April and September in 1995. Anatomical distribution of pufferfish toxin in tiger puffer was examined by mouse bioassay. The frequency rate of toxic specimens containing $\geq$ 10 MU/g was 14.8% in liver; 16.7% in gonad; and 14.8% in skin, and no toxin was detected in muscle. The highest toxin level found was 160 MU/g in liver, 600 MU/g in gonad and 26 MU/g in skin, and each average toxin level (mean$\pm$ standard error) was 7$\pm$6, 50$\pm$35 and 5$\pm$1 MU/g, respectively. Some specimens collected in January and April were toxic, while none of the specimens collected in September showed its toxicity. Although toxicity of tiger puffer showed the seasonal variation, tested tiger puffer was evaluated as a safe seafood fur consumption, in that an acceptable level of toxin was found in the edible muscle and skin.

A Study on the Optimum Mix Design Model of 100MPa Class Ultra High Strength Concrete using Neural Network (신경망 이론을 이용한 100MPa급 초고강도 콘크리트의 최적 배합설계모델에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest 100MPa class ultra high strength concrete mix design model applying neural network theory, in order to minimize an effort wasted by trials and errors method until now. Mix design model was applied to each of the 70 data using binary binder, ternary binder and quaternary binder. Then being repeatedly applied to back-propagation algorithm in neural network model, optimized connection weight was gained. The completed mix design model was proved, by analyzing and comparing to value predicted from mix design model and value measured from actual compressive strength test. According to the results of this study, more accurate value could be gained through the mix design model, if error rate decreases with the test condition and environment. Also if content of water and binder, slump flow, and air content of concrete apply to mix design model, more accurate and resonable mix design could be gained.

  • When manufacturing concrete, several mineral admixture is added to improve the basic physical property and durability and to make economical concrete. Such mineral admixture includes fly ash, granulated blast furnace slag, silica fume, etc., and not only the studies about mixing these mineral admixtures but also the studies for the development of new materials have been steadily in progress. Recently, some researchers have found, as a part of the development of new materials, the rice straw ash can also be used as a pozzolanic material for concrete considering similar chemical properties of rice straw ash to that of rice husk ash. But there has been insufficient amount of study about it. So, this study was to investigate the possibility as mineral admixture of agriculture by-product, by analyzing properties of concretes using rice straw ash with replacement ratio in comparison with other mineral admixture. In order to measure amount of SiO2 of rice straw ash, XRF(X-ray fluorescence) analysis was tested. For the measure pozzolanic reaction of rice straw ash, pH change and color change was tested according to curing day. Also to evaluate properties of concrete using rice straw ash, slump test, air contents test and compressive strength was tested.

Satisfaction and Completion Status according to Online Continuing Education for Radiological Technologist: Focusing on Busan and Ulsan Areas (방사선사 비대면 온라인 보수교육 실태에 따른 만족도 및 이수현황: 부산, 울산지역을 중심으로)

  • This study examines the status of non-face-to-face online continuing education for radiological technologist working at medical institutions in a region, their satisfaction, and completion status, and provides basic data on the design and operation of continuing education predicted after the post-coronavirus. It was implemented to do. From January 5, 2021 to January 31, 2021, 255 radiological technologist license holders who completed online continuing education in 2020 were targeted. Satisfaction with online continuing education was higher as the age, male radiological technologist, and job title increased after obtaining a license. As for the status of completion of continuing education, the higher the age, the higher the percentage of regular members belonging to the branch, the more moderate the cost of continuing education of medical institutions was guaranteed, and the more the completion of the continuing education license and the recognition of legal restrictions. Based on the results of this study, in order to increase the satisfaction and completion of continuing education, it is necessary to develop various educational programs and contents according to age in preparation for the rapidly changing medical environment, and it is necessary to identify and provide members' needs.

A Study on the Transformation and Issue of the Japanese-Chinese Word 'Library' (화제한어 '도서관' 명칭의 변용과 쟁점에 관한 연구)

  • The word library(図書館) is a Japanese translation of the Western library or Bibliothek in the mid-Meiji period. This word has been accepted in Chinese(图书馆), Taiwan(圖書館), Korea(도서관), and Vietnam(Dđồ thư quán), which are Chinese-speaking countries. If so, when and who first introduced the term library to Japan and China? In Japan, the enlightenment thinker Fukuzawa's 『Seiyo Jijo, 1866』 is regarded as the first document to introduce the Western library, and in China, the article published in 『Qing Yi Bao, 1896』 by the reformed thinker Liang Qichao referred to as the first example. Therefore, this study traced and demonstrated the time and person in which the word library appeared, focusing on modern dictionaries, books, translations, papers, and newspaper articles that were introduced in both countries. As a result, the theory of the introduction to Fukuzawa in 1866 is wrong because Western libraries are described in various terms in many diaries and dictionaries, including Motoki's 『An English Japanese Dictionary of the Spoken Language, 1814』. Also, in China, the theory of introduction of Liang Qichao in 1896 is not true because the term library first appeared in Ryu Jeong-dam's 『A Dictionary of Loan Words and Hybrid Words in Chinese, 1884』. In the same context, it is necessary to trace and argue the history of the first use of the term library in Korea and the name of the first library in Korea established by the Busan Branch of the Japan Hongdo Association in 1901.

Characteristics of Puffer Fish Poisoning Outbreaks in Korea (1991-2002) (대한민국에서 복어독에 의한 식중독 발생 특성)

  • The data on outbreaks of puffer fish poisoning during 1991 to 2002 in Korea were gathered from press reports, and characterized information collected. During the period, a total of 32 outbreaks of puffer fish poisoning was reported. These outbreaks caused 111 persons to become poisoning, among the cases 30 persons were fatal. The mean case fatality rate was 27.0%, and most of deaths (93.3%) were the male of above 29 years old. Patient number of below 4 persons per a poisoning accident occupied 75.0% of total outbreaks; 65.8% of total cases; and 66.7% of total deaths) was occurred in the months, November through January. Most of puffer fish poisoning (75.0% of total outbreaks; 68.5% of total cases; and 73.3% of total deaths) were found along the south coastal area of Korea, including Busan, Gyeongsangnam-do, Jeollanam-do and Jeju-do. Over than 80% of puffer fish poisoning outbreaks occurred at fishing boat and home where privately made food was cause, and outbreaks in restaurants accounted for 15.6%. Most commonly implicated foods were Guk, boiled soup with puffer fish meat and spices.

Effects of Emotional Reaction Based on Consumption Experiences of Luxury Korean Restaurants on Repurchase Intention (고급 한정식 레스토랑의 소비경험에 의한 감정반응이 재 구매의도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study is intended to analyze how emotional reaction based on consumption experience of dining at Korean traditional restaurants affects comsumer's repurchase intention. These restaurants are chosen from lists of high quality Korean traditional restaurants designated by the Restaurant Association in Busan. And then a model for the study is designed based on preceding studies and hypotheses are extracted. A statistical package program, SPSS WIN Version 18.0 is used for frequency analysis, reliability analysis and factorial analysis and regression analysis to verify the hypotheses. As the result of verifying how experience of dining at a Korean traditional restaurant affected arousal among emotional reactions, the symbolism factor and the variety factor were all proved to be meaningful, whereas the amusement factor was proved to be meaningless. As the result of verifying how experience of dining at the restaurant affected dominance among emotional reactions, the symbolism, amusement, and variety factors were all proved to be meaningful. As the result of verifying how emotional reactions affected consumer's repurchasing, the arousal and dominance factors were all proved to be meaningful. Moreover, as the result of verifying how experience of dining at the restaurant affected consumer's repurchasing, the variety and amusement factors were all proved to be meaningful, whereas the symbolism factor was proved to be meaningless.

Diacyl glyceryl ethers as the Causative Agent in the Diarrheal Episode Associated with Consumption of Stromateus stellatus (어류 Stromateus stellatus에 의한 설사성 식중독과 지질 특성)

  • There was an outbreak of food poisoning due to eating well-cooked imported tropical fish, Stromateus stellatus on May, 2000, in Korea. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as diarrhea ($92\%$), nausea ($77\%$), abdominal pain ($54\%$), vomiting ($46\%$) and headache ($23\%$) were experienced within $0.5\~2$ hours (median 1 hour) after eating, Any specific natural toxins were not confirmed concerned to those poisoning, but large amount of abnormal lipid ($23\%$) was found from the muscle such as 1-O-diacyl glyceryl ethers (DAGE), which was consisted of $61.8\%$ of total lipid. The 16:0 ($66.3\%$) and 18:1 ($15.8\%$) alkyl chains were dominant in all alkyl chains of DAGE which were presumed as the causative agent for the diarrheal food poisoning. O1eic acid (18:1) was found as a major fatty acid at the sn-2 or 3 in DAGEs. O-16:0-18:1-18:1 ($16.2\%$),O-16:0-18:1-22:1 ($14.7\%$) and O-18:0-18:1-22:1 ($11.0\%$) were contained as the major molecular species of DAGEs by RI-HPLC.
