Preparation of Mo-Bi-V-Al Mixed Oxide Catalysts and Its Application to Methanol Synthesis by Partial Oxidation of Methane (Mo-Bi-V-Al 복합 산화물 촉매의 제조와 메탄 부분산화에 의한 메탄올 합성반응에 응용)

  • This study was aimed at the development of catalysts for the direct methanol synthesis by partial oxidation of methane. Mo-Bi-V-Al mixed oxide catalysts were prepared and characterized and used in the direct methanol synthesis reaction. The catalysts prepared by the sol-gel method had much larger surface areas than those prepared by the co-precipitation method. The larger the surface area was, the less the methanol selectivity was. The catalysts having larger surface area facilitate the complete oxidation of methane, decreasing the selectivity of methanol. The catalysts prepared by the sol-gel method showed higher methanol selectivity of 13% at $20^{\circ}C$ lower temperature than those prepared by the co-precipitation method. Through XRD analysis, it was revealed that the structures of the catalysts prepared by the two methods were different. In the reaction, methanol selectivity increased and carbon dioxide selectivity decreased with pressure due to the suppression of complete oxidation reaction at a high pressure.

  • 고정층반응기에서 여러 가지 전이금속으로 치환된 하이드로탈사이트($[M_xMg_{6-x}Al_2(OH)_{16}(CO_3)^{2-}]{\cdot}H_2O;$ M: 전이금속(Ni, Mn, Co, Cu, Zn) x: 전이금속 치환비($x=0.5{\sim}6$))를 합성하고 이를 소성한 후 메탄의 부분산화 반응에 사용하였다. 반응 시 도입되는 $CH_4/O_2$비는 2로 하고 $VHSV=120,000cm^3/g$ h, 온도를 $500^{\circ}C$ 부터 $50^{\circ}C$ 간격으로 하여 $800^{\circ}C$까지 수행하였다. 실험결과 다른 전이금속들 중에서 니켈로 치환된 촉매가 대체적으로 부분산화반응을 촉진시키는데 좋은 것으로 나타났으며, 실험 결과 니켈의 hydrotalcite 중의 치환비(x)에 따른 차이는 별로 없었다.

Direct Methanol Synthesis by Partial Oxidation of Methane (메탄의 부분산화에 의한 메탄올 직접 합성)

  • Methanol was directly produced by the partial oxidation of methane with perovskite and mixed oxide catalysts. Perovskite ($ABO_3$) catalysts were prepared by the malic acid method with changing A and B site components. Three-component mixed oxide catalysts that have Mo and Bi as a main component were prepared by the co-precipitation method. Among the perovskite catalysts, $SrCrO_3$ showed the highest methanol selectivity of 11% at $400^{\circ}C$. For the three-component mixed oxide catalysts, there were no remarkable changes in methane conversion. Among the mixed oxide catalysts, Mo-Bi-Cr mixed oxide catalyst showed the highest methanol selectivity of 15.3% at $400^{\circ}C$. The catalytic activity and methanol selectivity of the three-component mixed oxide catalysts were directly proportional to the surface area of the catalysts.

Pinholes on Oxide under Polysilicon Layer after Plasma Etching (플라즈마 에칭 후 게이트 산화막의 파괴)

  • Pinholes on the thermally grown oxide, which is called gate oxide, on silicon substrate under polysilicon layer are found and its mechanism is analyzed in this paper. The oxide under a polysilicon layer is broken during the plasma etching process of other polysilicon layer. Both polysilicon layers are separated with 0.8${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ thick oxide deposited by CVD (Chemical Vapor Deposition). Since broken oxide points are found scattered around an arc occurrence point, it is assumed that an extremely high electric field generated near the arc occurrence point makes the gate oxide broken. 1'he arc occurrence point has been observed on the alignment key and is the mark of low yield. It is found that any arc occurrence can cause chips to fail by breaking the gate oxide, even if are occurrence points are found on scribeline.

Partial Nitritation in an SBR Reactor by Alkalinity Control (알칼리도 제어에 의한 SBR 반응조에서의 부분아질산화)

  • In this study, major parameter of partial nitritation was investigated for the stable operation. In order to establish partial nitritation system, prevailing parameters such as temperature, BA (bicarbonate alkalinity) and pH were evaluated. As a result, it is inferred that appropriate bicarbonate alkalinity ratio (mg $NaHCO_3{\cdot}L^{-1}/mg$ Inf. $NH_4{^+}-N{\cdot}L^{-1}$) drives stable 50% partial nitritation at $32^{\circ}C$ and ambient temperature, respectively. Alkalinity ratio was proposed as new strategy for 50% partial nitritation without pH control in both temperature regimes. Because of the results, it was added amound of BA required only for 50% nitritation to inhibit nitratation. The effluent $NO_2{^-}-N/NH_4{^+}-N$ ratio reached almost 100% when initial bicarbonate alkalinity ratios (mg $NaHCO_3{\cdot}L^{-1}/mg$ Inf. $NH_4{^+}-N{\cdot}L^{-1}$) were 6.8 (R1) and 6.7 (R2), respectively. Polymerase chain reaction and denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (PCR-DGGE) results demonstrated that AOB was the dominant nitrifying bacteria and NOB was negligible after adopting process control.

  • 기존 Ni-10w/o Cr 연료극과 성능은 대등하면서 creep 저항성이 뛰어난 연료극을 제조하기 위하여 Ni-5w/o Al 합금 연료극의 제조 공정을 연구하였다. 소성 분위기에 따라 완전산화 방법과 부분산화 방법으로 나누어 제조된 전극들의 미세구조 변화를 관찰하였으며, 실험 결과 부분산화 방법으로 제조한 Ni-5w/o Al 합금 연료극이 가장 우수한 소결 및 creep 저항성을 나타내었다. 이는 연료극이 산화물 분산강화 구조를 갖기 때문으로 부분산화 방법으로 제조한 Ni-5w/o Al 합금 연료극을 장착한 단전지의 경우 기계적 안정성 및 전극 안정성이 향상되었다.

Effect of Partially Oxidized Ti Powder on Electrical Properties and Microstructures of $BaTiO_3$-based Ceramics ($BaTiO_3$계 세라믹스의 전기적 성질과 미세조직에 미치는 부분산화 Ti 분말 첨가의 영향)

  • $BaTiO_3$-based ceramics with partially oxidized Ti powders were prepared by sintering at $1350^{\circ}C$ for 1 h in v vacuum, and then heated in air. In this study, the effect of partially oxidized Ti powders on electrical properties and microstructures of $BaTiO_3$-based ceramics was investigated. It was found out that the semiconductive $BaTiO_3$-based ceramics beζame to show excellent PTCR (more than $10^5$) characteristic by adding 5~7 vol% of partially oxidized Ti powder. Also, it was found out that the sintered compact had extremely porous and fine-grained microstructure. The relative density and grain size of sintered compact with 5 vol% of partially oxidized Ti powders were 54% and $1.3\;{\mu\textrm{m}}$, respectively. The mechanism for the development of PTCR characteristic in $BaTiO_3$-based ceramics with partially oxidized Ti powders due to the adsorption of oxygen at grain boundaries, and could be explained, based on Heywang model.

  • 고정층반응기에서 니켈이 치환된 하이드로탈사이트($Ni_3Mg_3Al_2(CO_3)(OH)_{{16}{\cdot}n}H_2O$ ; n=3$\sim$5)를 합성하고 여기에 세리아를 첨가 후 소성하여 얻은 촉매를 사용하여($Ce_xNi_3$-HTlc ; x=0.3$\sim$1.2) 메탄의 부분산화 반응실험을 수행하였다. 세리아가 첨가되지 않은 촉매는 반응 초기 활성이 세리가가 소량 첨가된 ($Ce_{0.3}Ni_3$-HTlc) 촉매보다 우수하였으나 장시간 반응에서는 차차 활성이 저하되었으나, $Ce_{0.3}Ni_3$-HTlc의 활성은 30시간까지 일정하게 유지 되었다. 세리아 함량이 많아 질수록 촉매 활성은 점차 저하되었으며, $Ce_{1.2}Ni_3$-HTlc 는 촉매활성이 매우 낮았다.

Effects of Base Metal on the Partial Oxidation of Methane Reaction (메탄의 부분산화반응에 미치는 Base metal의 영향)

  • The performance of the Pt-B/cordierite catalysts (2 wt%) Pt, 70 wt% Alumina, 28 wt%) Ceria and Zirconia, B: base metal) loaded with 6∼12 wt% Mn, Cu, V, Co, Cr and Ba, respectively was studied for partial oxidation of methane reaction and compared with that of Ni loaded catalyst. As a results, it was found that Ba, Co, Cr as well as Ni loaded catalysts showed higher activity for methane partial oxidation of methane than the Mn, Cu and V loaded catalyst. But it was known that catalysts having good activity for methane showed the good activity for coke formation, too. A XRD analysis of the catalyst before and after the reaction using 5 wt% Ni/Al$_2$O$_3$) showed that there were three Ni phases. In these results, it was found that methane oxidation reaction occulted at the front of the catalyst bed consisted of NiAl$_2$O$_4$and NiO and reforming reaction occurred at the rear part of the catalyst bed consisted of reduced Ni.
