The following research analyzes the most employed social marketing tools such as portal advertisement, blogs, and SNS channels to effectively execute social media marketing from performance indicator and ICSI perspective, analyzes each channel's characteristics and results based on Korea distribution companies' case studies and suggests a framework to effectively use each channel. Portal site advertisements are the most effective channel to draw customers with new information and are thus linked to profit by corporations with excessive budget and workforce. Blogs target a specific range of customers providing quality information and knowledge thus improving a corporation's and its product's trustworthiness, spread the word by allowing customers to scrap the information, form social groups and synthesize ideas, events, new contents and social involvement with loyal customers. SNS channels allow customers to get involved in real time information and events, grow through network by the power of customers, react immediately to customers' needs, and execute real-time market and customer reports. Though national corporations currently rely heavily on portal site advertisements, insightful marketing professionals are showing financial results with blog and SNS. In the future, based on a precise understanding of each channel's benefits and expected results, and with a focus on flexibility, timeliness and integrated use of each channel, a portfolio of dynamic marketing as a maximizing strategy could be synthesized.

  • This study aims to analyze the effect of consumer characteristics such as consumer innovativeness on using popular social media in Korea. Social media usage is estimated by probit and multinomial probit model with user characteristics using Korea media panel data of 2019. According to the analysis, users with hedonoc innovativeness are likely to use social media, while users with cognitive innovativeness are not likely to use it. Regarding individual social media usage, functional innovativeness increases the probability of using Kakaostory, and hedonic innovativeness increases the likelihood of using Instagram. • This study empirically studied the factors affecting the intensity of use of mobile social media and fatigue. Theories for the research framework were based on the theory of planned behavior, the theory of private information protection, the theory of flow, and the theory of process incentives. As a result of data analysis, it was found that self-efficacy, user habits, and flow experience positively influence the intensity of mobile social media use. This study assumed that personal information protection issues negatively affect the intensity of mobile social media use, but have little influence on the use intensity. The intensity of media use had a positive effect on media fatigue. In other words, when the intensity of using mobile social media increased, the feeling of fatigue increased. The expected process incentives variable did not show a moderating effect between media use intensity and social media fatigue. The findings will have implications for social media-related companies and organizations that want to use social media tools for business and public services.
