Ventilation fans utilized correctly can increase the effectiveness of fire fighters and survivability of occupants. It is possible to increase the pressure of a corridor to prevent the infiltration of smoke. In this study, experiments were carried out to evaluate ventilation effectiveness in corridor fires. Corridor used in the experiment was 20 m long. Heptane was used as a fuel. Temperature and visibility were measured in order to evaluate ventilation effectiveness according to the position of a vent. Vent distance ranged from 0 m to 4 m and height varied from 0 m to 1.5 m. When the vent was positioned 2 m long and 0.75 m high the result was most effective.
There are a lot of works for predicting smoke movement in a building experimentally and m numerically. It is Vel${\gamma}$ important to predict a smoke movement in a corridor which is c connected to adjacent spaces. A numerical analysis of smoke movement in an enclosed c corridor is perlormed by a field model. The used field model is develo야d with 3-D u unstructured meshes, PISO Algorithm and buoyant plume model. In this study, tern야~ature a and flow field, some important p하ameters such as smoke spread time, hot layer temperature, c ceiling jet velocity were compared with experimental data which were perlormed in Korea I Ins디tute of Machinery and Materials. And average velocity of ceiling jet by this study is c compared with Hinkley's formula. This paper shows a flow characteristic around the soffit a and average velocity of ceiling jet is i따luenced by geometry of corridor, heat output, and d distance from the fire source.

Most of the existing studies of hospital ward were concentrated on the bed room and there was no study on the day place and corridor space for the inpatient. According to the existing study, 50% inpatients move here and there freely and they want to have a rest in the day place or corridor of the general hospital. So the purpose of this study is to find out the reason why the inpatients prefer to rest in the day place, to survey the inpatients' behavior there and to stress the importance of exterior environment except the bed room in the public space of hospital.

The purpose of this study is to build fundamental data related to corridor space for nursing home design. Elderly with dementia were observed in corridor space at two nursing homes in In-cheon City. Two types of behavior were found out through in-depth observation; Group and Personal behaviors. Group behaviors were varying according to the type of programs such as rest, care, diet, and therapeutic services. Personal behaviors could be classified into wandering and private seclusion. These two behaviors were influenced by management programs of facilities, services of care-givers and individual characteristics of residents. The result of this study was discussed on the following matters: 1) Optimum size of residential unit; 2) Working spaces of care-givers; 3) Relationship between bedroom and common space for gathering; 4) Planning for wandering path; 5) Familiarity of interior finishing materials

The architectural design of student circulation space has a pronounced influence on the educational function of a school building. Recent curriculum and new teaching methods have required the sufficient space provided for circulation and various circulation spaces in a school building, such as elevator, pilotis, bridge, atrium, deck, lobby and locker room. However excessive circulation space is wasteful form the standpoint of both initial investment and operation. This study aims to investigate new circulation patterns and functions, and to propose the adequate size in planning a school corridor. For this purpose, it explores the recent trends of the corridor planning represented in the excellent school facilities in 2002. and analyzes the newly-added functions In the school corridor : architectural in-between space, dwelling space for ordinary activities, space for educational media and auxiliary learning space. This research recommends that the corridor width be carefully planned according to the supposed functions in order to achieve the efficiency in the design of school facilities.
In this study, an architectural acoustics simulation was conducted to examine the clear and uniform transmission of emergency broadcasting sound in a T junction corridor space. The sound absorption performance of the corridor space and the location and spacing of the loudspeaker for emergency broadcasting were varied. The distribution of the sound pressure level and the distribution of sound transmission indices (STI, RASTI) were compared. The simulation showed that the loudspeaker for emergency broadcasting should be installed approximately 10 m from the center of the T junction corridor connection for clear voice transmission. Narrowing the 25 m installation interval of the NFSC shows that an even clearer and sufficient volume of emergency broadcast sound can be delivered evenly.

Landcover map can use to establish basic national environment policy as main data predicting living place, counting pollution like a atmosphere, water and forest part. During the 1998-2005 years, Korean government made landcover maps using satellite image for part of south Korea. Landcover maps are offered free for public purpose to university and institute. So, it used basic data for policy and research parts. There are some problems for application parts because of inconsistency. So, in this study, to estimate accuracy of source data by quality checking for landcover maps. As a result, there are some errors like classification inconsistencies. So, it need verification process for landcover maps.

Hospital architecture is in a transitional period and faces a great change. Furthermore, patients' demand on medical service has been changing. It is said that the importance of public space for people as well as that of private space for patients, doctors and nurses becomes more important than ever. For example, corridor space becomes pathway, waiting room and rest area of patients. Accordingly, the importance of corridor space of public space in general hospitals is increasing. This study aims to present standard data for hospital planning by analyzing space allocation and floor area of corridor space in general hospitals.

The construction of the health care facilities in terms of medical institutional source cost much and affect on management of another sources like staffs for the health care delivery systems and the medical service. For it is hard to change the physical component of the facilities, the reasonability and the efficiency of the facilities should be the major considering point. Consequently, the purpose of this study is to represent the basic data for determining the size and type of corridor space in ward by investigating the design pattern of existing facilities and analyzing several model according to corridor type.

An aerial multi-looking camera system equips itself with five separate cameras which enables acquiring one vertical image and four oblique images at the same time. This provides diverse information about the site compared to aerial photographs vertically. However, multi-looking Aerial Camera for building a 3D spatial information don't use a large-size CCD camera, do uses a medium-size CCD camera, if acquiring forward, backward, left and right imagery of Certain objects, Aerial photographing set overlap and sidelap must be considered. Especially, Sideward-looking camera set up by the sidelap to determine whether a particular object can be acquisition Through our research we analyzed of sideward footprint and aerial photographing efficiency of Multi-view imagery by sidelap changing.
