Humidity Change Rate Analysis for Various Waterproofing Method in Underground Structures During Winter Season (지하 구조물 동절기 온도조건에서의 방수공법별 습도 변화량 분석)

  • This paper proposes the appropriate waterproofing methods for underground structures after applying different types of waterproofing materials on the concrete test specimens and selecting the best results out of humidity testing in winter conditions. Results of the testing showed that the underground structures absolutely require relevant waterproofing application based on the environmental conditions; when applied with interior waterproofing, the results showed that the concrete maintained high level of humidity and reinforcing steel within the concrete layer corroded. However, when applied with exterior waterproofing, it was shown that the waterproofing layer prevent direct contact with water and concrete, thereby protecting the concrete structure and improving overall durability. It follows that during underground structure construction, exterior waterproofing methods are have shown by an effective method for improving the durability as well as providing a comfortable interior environment for users.

Extraction of Concrete Slab Surface Cracks using Fuzzy Inference and SOM Algorithm (퍼지 추론 기법과 SOM 알고리즘을 이용한 콘크리트 슬래브 표면의 균열 추출)

  • It is necessary to measure cracks on concrete slab surface accurately in concrete structure maintenance for the stability of the structure. However, in real world, the process is done by time consuming and ineffective manual inspection. Although there have been some studies to provide computerized inspection methods, they are vulnerable to rugged surface or noise due to the influence of the light or environmental reasons. In this paper, we propose a new method that extracts not only undistorted cracks but minute cracks that were often regarded as noise. We extract candidate crack areas by applying fuzzy method with R, G, and B channel values of concrete slab structure. Then further refinement processes are performed with SOM algorithm and density based cutoff to remove noise. Experiment verifies that the proposed method is sufficiently useful in various crack images.

Software Replacement Time Prediction Technique Using the Service Level Measurement and Replacement Point Assessment (서비스 수준 측정 및 교체점 평가에 의한 소프트웨어 교체시기 예측 기법)

  • The software is changed according to the changing businesses and the user requirement, it involves increasing complexity and cost. Considering the repetitive changes required for the software, replacement is more efficient than maintenance at some point. In this study, the replacement time was predicted using the service dissatisfaction index and replacement point assessment index by the software group for each task. First, fuzzy inference was used to develop the method and indicator for the user's service level dissatisfaction. Second, the replacement point assessment method was established considering the quality, costs, and new technology of the software. Third, a replacement time prediction technique that used the gap between the user service measurement and replacement point assessment values was proposed. The results of the case study with the business solutions of three organizations, which was conducted to verify the validity of the proposed prediction technique in this study, showed that the service dissatisfaction index decreased by approximately 16% and the replacement point assessment index increased by approximately 9%.

  • Urban underground structures at low ground elevations (i.e. shallow substructures) unlike typical tunnel structures are subjected to low overburden and high water pressures. This often causes the underground structures to become damaged. Various conventional methods for the urban underpass structures such as dead weight increasement, round anchors, and tension piles, are significantly conservative and provok concerns about the costly, time-consuming installation process. Recently, permanent drainage system becomes to widely use for supplementing the conventional method's shortcomings, but, it is applied without the considerations for ground conditions and water table. In this study, therefore, numerical analyses are performed with various parameters such as groundwater level, wall height, and ground conditions in order to establish design guidelines for induced drainage system which is a kind of the permanent drainage method constructed at the Y-area. According to the numerical results, the induced drainage system is very effective in reducing the uplift pressure that acts on the base of underpass structures.

  • The railway system is an interface industry that can be safely operated by organically operating the lines, vehicles, controls, etc. Various data are generated in the operation and maintenance activities of the railway system. These data are utilized in cooperation with safety and maintenance activities in each field, but amount of data is insufficient for data analysis of safety management due to relevant data being produced without any synchronous criteria such as time or space. In particular, reference data such as location and time of failure data for each field are set to different criteria according to the work characteristics in each field. So, it is not easy to analyze data integrally based on location and time. Therefore, mapping of reference data can be required for integrated analysis of data defined in different formats. By selecting data mapping tools and verifying the results of safety relevant data with the same criteria, the purpose of this paper is to enable integrated analysis of railway safety management data occurring in different fields based on location and time.

  • Worldwide Electric Vehicle (EV) sales are rapidly increasing. But in many cases, charging locations can be found within or near downtown area of the city which makes EV users living outskirts of the city very difficult to establish their daily EV charging routines. In order to improve this situation, we have come up with a daily EV charge service connected with convenience stores and restaurants within reach of most EV users living in South Korea. We aim to allow users to charge their EVs while they shop and eat, just as if they charge their smartphones at cafes and restaurants. We have gone through user diary research and focus group interview research to figure out current user's concerns regarding charging and maintenance of EVs and applied the findings to our proposed service design.

  • In order to know the characteristics of high visit web sites that many people have visited, 37 high visit websites of plastic surgery were compared to 69 benchmark sites of same industry. We selected 36 web site attributes that can be measured objectively from existing studies and composed the data set of 36 attributes multiplied by 106 websites. For analysis, Multiple Discriminant Analysis(MDA) and Decision Tree Technique are conducted for searching what attributes divide two group definitely. The result of this study shows the dividing attributes fall into 3 categories like 'Community', 'Mobile', 'Up to date'. Thus, we are able to conclude that high visit plastic surgery web sites are community centric site but not contents centric, response a change to mobile environment rapidly and are maintained with tide up to date. The methodology employed in this study provides an efficient way of improving satisfaction of visitors of plastic surgery website.

  • 진공 배기 시스템에 위험한 환경을 초래할 수 있는 모든 가능성을 찾아 낼 수는 없지만 누적된 현장 경험과 연구 결과에 맞추어 최대한 필요한 안전 조치들을 취해야 한다. 진공 배기 시스템이나 그 구성품들에 대한 심각한 파손을 유발하는 공통적인 요인들은 발화성 물질의 점화나 진공 배기 시스템의 배기구 막힘에 의해 발생한다. 따라서, 진공 펌프와 진공 시스템의 안전한 가동과 사용을 위해서는 다음과 같은 것들을 반드시 준수하여야 한다. ${\blacksquare}$ 발화성, 폭발성 공정 물질을 사용하는 진공 배기 시스템은 정규 유지 보수 작업(PM) 후 첫 번째 배기 과정은 매우 천천히 진행하여 진공 배기 시스템 내부에 급격한 난류가 형성되지 않도록 해 주어야 한다. ${\blacksquare}$ 진공 배기 시스템 내에서 발화성 물질들의 농도가 발화 영역(flammable zone, potentially explosive atmosphere)에 들어가지 않도록 하여야 한다. 이를 위해서는 불활성 가스를 이용하여 진공 펌프와 진공 배기 시스템의 가동 예상 조건이나 고장 환경하에서 안전한 농도 이하로 희석시켜야 한다. ${\blacksquare}$ 진공 펌프와 진공 배기 시스템에 장착되어 사용되는 밸브 등의 기계적 부품들이나 공정에 사용되는 물질과 공정 부산물들(by-products)로 인하여 배관, 필터 배기구 등이 막히지 않도록 하여야 한다. ${\blacksquare}$ 공정에 사용되는 물질들, 특히 산소($O_2$), 오존 ($O_3$) 등의 산화제 농도가 높을 때는 오일 회전 배인 진공 펌프(Oil rotary vane vacuum pump)에 미네랄(mineral) 오일을 사용하지 말아야 하며, PFPE(Perfluoropolyether) 오일을 사용하여야 한다. 시판되는 진공 펌프 오일 중 비발화성(non-flammable)으로 표기된 오일이라고 하더라도 산화제(oxidant)의 농도가 체적비로 30 % 넘는 공정 환경에는 사용하지 말아야 한다. ${\blacksquare}$ 진공 펌프와 진공 배기 시스템에 의해 배기되는 물질들이 물($H_2O$)과 격렬하게 반응하는 경우는 물이 아닌 다른 냉각제를 사용하여야 한다. ${\blacksquare}$ 안전하지 않다고 판단되는 상황에서는 해당 전문가의 조언이나 해당 전문가의 직접적인 현장 도움을 통해 문제를 해결하여야 한다.

A Stability of P-persistent MAC Scheme for Periodic Safety Messages with a Bayesian Game Model (베이지안 게임모델을 적용한 P-persistent MAC 기반 주기적 안정 메시지 전송 방법)

  • For the safety messages in IEEE 802.11p/WAVE vehicles network environment, strict periodic beacon broadcasting requires status advertisement to assist the driver for safety. In crowded networks where beacon message are broadcasted at a high number of frequencies by many vehicles, which used for beacon sending, will be congested by the wireless medium due to the contention-window based IEEE 802.11p MAC. To resolve the congestion, we consider a MAC scheme based on slotted p-persistent CSMA as a simple non-cooperative Bayesian game which involves payoffs reflecting the attempt probability. Then, we derive Bayesian Nash Equilibrium (BNE) in a closed form. Using the BNE, we propose new congestion control algorithm to improve the performance of the beacon rate under saturation condition in IEEE 802.11p/WAVE vehicular networks. This algorithm explicitly computes packet delivery probability as a function of contention window (CW) size and number of vehicles. The proposed algorithm is validated against numerical simulation results to demonstrate its stability.

  • Nowadays, as IT environment is changing rapidly, traditional infra system such as hardware, software, and development methodology are changing as well. Legacy system has been filled with Intellectual property such as invested budget and development period for the time of IT is developing. Many countries around the world are having troubles with how to manage the legacy system. It is time to study on a development method and the implementation of supporting tool to reuse or process the legacy system. In this paper, it proves the definition, concept and also background of legacy system by showing real market and technology trend. Developed to handle the concrete development methodology, procedure and reference. We can get more profitability and productivity advance by reuse of legacy system and maintenance cost-saving through legacy migration.
