In 2017, multimodal transportation tests for evaluating road, sea, and rail transport were performed by research institutes in the US, Spain, and the Republic of Korea. In this study, acceleration and strain data determined through road and sea tests were analyzed. It was investigated whether the load generated for each transport mode was amplified or attenuated according to the load transfer path. From the results, it was confirmed that the load transfer characteristics differed according to the transportation mode and loading path. The effects of strain determined through each test on the structural integrity of the spent nuclear fuel were also investigated. It was found that the magnitude of the measured strain had a negligible effect on the structural integrity of the spent nuclear fuel, considering its fatigue strength. The results for the acceleration and strain data analyses obtained in this study will be useful for scheduled domestic transportation tests under normal transport conditions.
In this paper, a conceptual approach of the stress path method was newly proposed for a rational estimation of settlements of saturated clay deposits. In the proposed approach, settlement-related characteristic deformation behaviors of a specific clay deposit, which can cover all probable stress changes expected in the field, are experimentally evaluated in advance. Then settlements of various structures constructed on the deposit are easily estimated with only the characteristic deformation behaviors and without any additional experimental effort. In Part I of this paper, in order to provide practicality to the new conceptual approach, we developed a detailed procedure which is capable of evaluating characteristic deformation behaviors of a saturated clay deposit with only a limited number of tests and easily predicting deformations under a given stress change using the characteristic deformation behaviors. The applicability of the developed procedure was clearly shown by presenting an actual application example.

A series of torsion shear tests were performed according to various stress-paths on hollow cylinder specimens of $K_0$-consolidated clay to investigate the influence of rotation of the principal stresses on the stress-strain and strength characteristics. The effects of stress-paths and reorientation of principal stress were mainly observed in the prefailure stress-strain behavior. The experimentally obtained failure surface from torsion shear tests could practically be modeled by an isotropic failure criterion. Coupling effects between stresses and strains were investigated when both torsion shear and vertical stresses were applied. The work-space in torsion shear tests was illustrated and the relation between stresses and strain increments was also investigated in the work-space.
An extensive analysis of 3,490 metabolic pathways in 471 archaebacterial species was conducted using the MetaCyc database. The number of metabolic pathways in these species varied significantly, ranging from 13 to 184 per species. Notably, no single metabolic pathway was found to be common in all archaebacteria. However, the "UTP and CTP de novo biosynthesis" and "tRNA charging" pathways were present in the 470 species. Among the top 12 most prevalent metabolic pathways in archaebacteria, five were associated with nucleic acids and five with proteins. The remaining pathways included the "synthetic pathway of S-adenosyl-L-methionine (SAM)," a critical cofactor in various bioreactions, and "phosphopantothenate biosynthesis III (archaea)," which is required for essential post-translational modifications. These findings underscore the importance of nucleic acids and protein metabolism in archaeal biology. When the average and standard deviation of the distance values obtained from the phylogenetic tree of metabolic pathways, each class of archaebacteria was divided into main two groups and the others, showing that the distribution of metabolic pathways was diverse. This study's insights hold potential applications in both foundational science and drug development.
A series of torsion shear tests were performed to study the drained stress -strain behavior of medium dense Santa Monica Beach sand under various stress paths. The torque was applied to both clockwise and counterclockwise directions at the end of hollow cylinder specimen. Two clip gages had been previously used to measure the changes in wall thickness and diameter of the specimen. In this study, however, the lateral strain was determined by measuring volume changes in specimen. Specimens were prepared by the air pluviation method and gaseous carbon deozide( CO2) was used to measure precisely volumetric strain in specimen. The drained stress -strain behavior of cohesionless Boils during rotation of principal stress directions was analysed based on the results of torsion shear tests. The coupling of mal stress were applied. It was also found from the test results that the atrial strain at failure decreased with increasing value.
Our research introduces a novel system for creating 3D vehicle animation. Our system is for intuitively authoring vehicle accident scenes according to videos or based on user-drawn trajectories. Our system has been implemented by combining three existing ideas. The first part is for obtaining 3D trajectory of a vehicle from black-box videos. The second part is a tracking algorithm that controls a vehicle to follow a given trajectory with small errors. The last part optimizes the vehicle control parameters so that the error between the input trajectory and simulated vehicle trajectory is minimized. We also simulate the deformation of the car due to an impact to achieve believable results in real-time.
The K-shortest path algorithms are largely classified into two groups: oneis for finding loopless path (simple path), another loop paths. In terms of cimputational complexities, in general the loop-paths-finding ones are considered more efficient and easier to be handled than the loopless-paths-finding. The entire path deletion methods have been known as the best efficient algorithms among the proposed K-shortest path algorithms. These algorithms exploit the K-th network transformation to prevent the same path, which was already selected as the (K-1)th path, from being redetected. Nevertheless, these algorithms have a critical limitationto be applied in the practical traffic networks because the loops, in which the same modes and links can be unlimitedly repeated, are not preventable. This research develops a way to be able to selectively control loop-paths by applying link-label. This research takes an advantage of the link-based shortest path algorithms that since the algorithms can take care of two links simultaneouslyin the searching process, the generation of loops can be controlled in the concatenation process of the searched link and the preceded link. In concatenation of two links, since the precede link can be treated a sub-shortest to this link from the origination, whether both the node and the link of the searched link were already existed or not can be evaluated. Terefore, both the node-loopless path, in which the same node is not appeared, and the link-loopless, in which the same link is not appeared, can be separately controlled. Especially, the concept of the link-loopless path is expended to take into consideration reasonable route choice behaviors such as U-Turn, P-Turn, and Turn-Penalty, which are frequently witnessed in urban traffic network with intersections. The applicability of the proposed method is verified through case studies.
