국내 경제 및 과학의 발전으로 인하여 국민의 생활 수준은 높아졌다. 그에 따라 생명의 질 향상을 원한다. 즉, 인권을 보장하고 인간으로서 존엄과 가치를 추구한다. 그러므로 의학계는 인간의 생명을 연장하며, 건강한 삶을 유지하기 위해 도움을 준다. 인권을 수호하는 사회의학은 법의학이다. 법의학은 법의방사선학 영상으로 사망자 식별 및 원인을 분석한다. 법의방사선학은 방사선사가 의료영상을 획득하여 제공하는 것이다. 그러므로 방사선사는 법의학 관련 교과목을 이수하여 전문성을 가져야 한다. 최근 의과대학 및 간호대학에서는 의과대학 및 간호대학에서는 법의학, 법의간호학 등 다양한 교과목을 개설하여 운영 중이다. 그러나 방사선학과는 법의학 관련 교과목을 개설한 학교가 단 하나뿐이다. 향후 방사선사 및 방사선학과의 발전과 모색을 위해서는 법의학 교육을 고려하여야 한다. 이를 위해 방사선학과 학부 및 대학원에 법의학 교육의 필요성과 요구도를 조사하였다. 방사선학과 재학생들의 법의학 인식도는 2.977점으로 나타났으나, 방사선사가 법의학 교육 필요성은 3.759점으로 높게 나타났다. 또한, 재학생들의 법의학 교과목 요구도는 84.1%로 높게 나타나 대다수가 개설 운영이 필요하다고 응답하였다. 본 연구는 방사선학과 학부 및 대학원 재학생들의 법의학 관련 교과목 요구도를 알 수 있었으며, 교육의 다양성과 전문성을 모색할 필요가 있다. 법의학 및 방사선학 발전에 기초자료로 활용되길 기대한다.

Purpose : This study aimed to clarify attributes, antecedents, and consequences of forensic nursing competency. Method : Rodgers' evolutionary concept analysis was used to analyze twenty nine articles on forensic nursing based on a systematic review of theology, medicine, psychology, and nursing literature. Results : Forensic nursing competency consists of the following seven attributes: awareness of the medico-legal problem, multidisciplinary integrated knowledge, education and training in forensic science, professional career development, evidence based practice in forensic nursing, collaborative forensic nursing with community partner, safety and security effective communication, and supportive relationships. Finally, we could explain the consequences of forensic nursing competency on knowledge construction in nursing, enhancing professional nursing, and establishing a human rights and social justice based approach. The antecedents of forensic nursing competency were forensic science interest, forensic science experience, and nurses' view of person in forensic-works. Conclusion : Based on these results, we recommend the development of a Korean version of a scale to assess forensic nursing competency.

Purpose : This study aims to develop the Forensic Nursing Competency Scale suitable to South Korea. Methods : The initial items were generated through literature review and interviews. Items were evaluated by experts for content and face validity. By conducting a pilot test, 74 measurement items were developed. In total, 333 copies of the questionnaire were analyzed regarding the validity and reliability of the study. Data were analyzed using SPSS 23.0 program and AMOS 18.0 program. Results : The study selected 53 questions after testing the content, face, and construct validity of the scale. The final 53 questions were composed of 15 sub-components in eight domains. These eight domains encompassed nursing practice, communication, critical thinking, human caring and relationships, evidence management, active information collection, professional development, and knowledge integration. Conclusions : In order to verify the effectiveness of the scale, future studies need to compare the forensic nursing competency in two groups to assess differences in these competency. Moreover, it is necessary to develop a forensic nursing educational program and validate its effectiveness by using this scale.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine factors affecting the performance of the forensic nursing role among emergency department (ED) nurses. Methods: Data collection was conducted on 125 nurses of EDs in 9 medical centers in U metropolitan city from June 20 to July 20, 2016. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression using SPSS Win 21.0 program. Results: There were statistically significant differences in the performance of the forensic nursing role according to the types of emergency medical institutions, perception of the forensic nursing and forensic nurse. Performance of the forensic nursing role had positive relationships with the awareness of the forensic nursing role and forensic nursing competency. Factors affecting the performance of forensic nursing role were forensic nursing role awareness, the types of emergency medical institutions and forensic nursing competency. These factors explained 40.8% of the total variance. Conclusion: The results suggest that awareness of the forensic nursing role, forensic nursing competency and the types of emergency medical institutions have influences on the performance of forensic nursing role. Therefore, it is necessary to design interventions suitable for the types of emergency medical institutions for ED nurses to enhance the awareness of forensic nursing role and to reinforce forensic nursing competency.
