치형수정 기술을 이용한 스퍼기어설계 소프트웨어의 개발 (Development of Spur Gear Design Software using Tooth Profile Modification)

  • The basic concept of 'tooth profile modification' to change a part of the involute profile to reduce the load in that area and appropriate profile modifications can help gears to run quietly and resist scoring, pitting and tooth breakage. In this study, the modification of tooth profile to make a smooth transmission of the normal loads in spur gears has been developed. The modified tooth profile has been determined by the total deflection at contact points. We use the AGMA Standard to design basic gear profile. We also developed a gear design program using tooth profile modification.

  • The area of gear dynamics has recently been the focus of many studies. A new tooth profile modification was proposed by author for reducing vibration and noise of involute gears. A comparative dynamic analysis of the gear drive with the involute tooth and the modified tooth profile(using cubic splines) is performed to the unuformal transmission error reduces the gear vibration and noise due to less dynamic tooth load variation during the meshing cycle. This work also include a gear design process by the meaning of a practical approach, such as Win95 based simulation program with all using basic geardesign variables. Especially this program enables gear designers to dynamic analysis based on G.U.I.

  • Among various gear system, planetary gear system has the best characteristics in high efficiency, excellent strength capacity, easy convertible speed control, and compact design aspect. Strength of gear is considered as the most important design factor. We have studied tooth form and the planetary gear system that have high reduction gear ratio is created by using the involute curve.

  • The dimension of forged part is different from that of die. Therefore, a more precise die dimension is necessarys to produce the precise part, considering the dimensional changes from forging die to final part. In this paper, both experimental and FEM analysis are performed to investigate the effect of several features including die dimension at each forging step and heat-treatment on final part accuracy in the closed-die upsetting. The dimension of forged part is checked at each stage as machined die, cold forged, and post-heat-treatment steps. The elastic characteristics and thermal influences on forging stage are analyzed numerically by the DEFORM-$2D^{TM}$. The effect of residual stress after heat-treatment on forged part could be considered successfully by using DEFOAM-$HT^{TM}$.

  • This paper suggests the establishment of high-accuracy and high-efficiency machining method of scroll shape workpiece by using the feed control method. The cutting paths for machining the inside and outside surfaces of the scroll-shape workpiece are calculated, and the calculation method of the cutting chip areas based on the coordinate of the base circle is shown. A feed control method is proposed for a constant cutting area and cutting force. By machining test of scroll shape workpiece, The machined accuracy of wrap, tool wear, and surface roughness are evaluated. By this method, Reduction of the machining time and large increase of the efficiency can be expected.

김치 냉장고용 홴 및 덕트 시스템 성능 개선 (Performance Improvement of Fan and Duct System for Kimchi Refrigerator)

  • The kimchi refrigerator is the electronic home appliance which is used for the maturing and a custody of the kimchi. In this paper, performance improvement of fan and duct system for kimchi refrigerator has been studied by using a commercial CFD code. In order to achieve a improved fan performance, three-dimensional computational fluid dynamics and the Design of Experiments method have been applied. Additionally, to know the optimized duct inlet shape with the optimized fan, the overall performances were calculated with various duct inlet shapes. The final fan and duct system for kimchi refrigerator showed improved performance in efficiency and total head compared with the existing model.

  • The purpose of this paper is to develop a profile modification technique of spur gears and its computer program for the prevention of gear tooth overlap. In the gear system, tooth overlap produces an impact at the initial contact of some tooth pairs. In this analysis, contact surface was assumed to be unbonded and frictionless under small deformation and stain. The problem is formulated by a variational statement with inequality constraint. Tooth load sharing is obtained by the application of contact theory, and overlap is known by the analysis of deformation. After carrying out the profile modification of gear tooth, we verified the reasonable results.

  • 본 연구에서는 내치차의 절삭가공에서 발생하는 치형오차를 대상으로 이에 영 향을 미치는 제반 조건 중, 커터의 이론적인 인벌류트 치형으로부터의 편차, 커터와 내치차의 잇수에 의한 간섭, 창성과정(generating process)중 원주방향 이송과 같은 가공조건이 기어의 치형오차에 미치는 영향을 분석하고 이를 최소로 하는 조건을 유도 하여 양질의 내치차 생산에 기여 하고자 한다.

  • In this paper, the performance characteristics of the impeller and volute in the 2 vane pump were investigated using response surface method (RSM) with commercial computation fluid dynamics (CFD) code. Design variables were defined with the impeller blade angle and volute area distribution. The objective functions were defined as the total head, total efficiency and solid material size of the 2 vane pump. The design optimization of the design variables was determined using the RSM. The numerical results for the reference and optimum models were compared and discussed in this work.

  • A counter gear transmits the rotation angle, so the angular velocity ratio of the gear does not necessarily need to be constant in the meshing process. As a pinion has a small number of teeth when combined with an internal gear for counters, tooth interference can occur with the use of an involute curve. This paper introduces circular arcs that represent a tooth profile and fillet for the profile design of a pinion through the combination of arcs with lines. The straight line of a rack tooth represents the profile of a mating internal gear. Thus, the circular arc and line maintain contact during the rotation of the counter gear. This paper presents an analysis of the meshing of the circular arc tooth and rack tooth along with the properties of the counter gear, such as the change in rotational velocity and amount of backlash. The contact ratio of the counter gear is 1 because the tooth contact occurs between circular arcs and line. The initial position of tooth contact, which denotes the simultaneous contact of two teeth, is found. As the rotation of the pinion, only one tooth keeps the contact situation. This meshing property is analyzed by the geometrical constraints of the tooth profile in contact and the results are presented as graphical diagrams in which tooth-arc movements are superimposed.
