IFLA(국제도서관협회연맹)의 어린이/청소년 도서관분과(Libraries for Children and Young Adults Section)는 전세계의 어린이 및 청소년을 위한 도서관 발전에 초점을 맞추고 있다. 뿐만 아니라 평생학습의 중요성, 어린이의 독서, 그들의 정보를 제공받을 권리에 대한 인식을 고양시키고 있다. IFLA의 어린이/청소년 분과에서는 『어린이 도서관봉사를 위한 가이드라인』과 『청소년을 위한 도서관봉사의 지침』을 마련하여 각 국의 언어로 번역되기를 원하고 있다. 이에 우리 협회는 어린이를 위한 도서관봉사에 도움이 되기를 바라며, 우리 협회 송영숙 어린이ㆍ청소년 봉사위원회 위원장(IFLA 어린이ㆍ청소년 도서관분과 상임위원, 서울독서교육연구회 회장)의 번역문을 수록한다. 본 번역문의 원문은 http://www.ifla.org/Vll/s10/pubs/ChildrensGuidelines.pdf을 참조하기 바라며, 『청소년을 위한 도서관봉사의 지침』의 한국어 번역문은 본지 2003년 7ㆍ8월호 96쪽~102쪽에 게재된 바 있다.

Multicultural family members have difficulty in educating their children due to language differences. In order to solve these difficulties, it is necessary to provide smart translation services that enable them easily and quickly access real-life vocabularies. However, the current automatic translation technology is being developed in dominant languages such as English, Chinese, and Japanese. There are also limitations to translating special-purpose terms such as documents of schools and instructions of public institutions. In this study, we propose a real-time automatic word translation service for multicultural family members who understand beginner level Korean. The service automatically analyzes the semantics of each word in the Korean sentences and provides a word-by-word translation. This study includes semantic analysis research for Korean language, building multilingual translation knowledge, and fusion study of language education. We evaluated the word translation service for migrant women from Vietnam and Japan and obtained meaningful evaluation results.

The purpose of this study is to explore ways to nurture creative and fusion-type talents centered on ANT. In order to nurture creative and convergence-type talents centered on ANT, first, it is necessary to utilize Kao's Law in the network formation stage. Second, it is necessary to utilize the strong power of weak ties in the network formation stage. Third, in order to cause a stir in the stage of raising questions among the four stages of translation, the ability to ask questions must be developed. Fourth, education in various creative problem-solving techniques is needed to throw a stir. Fifth, in order to successfully intervene in the second stage of the four stages of translation, the stage of attracting attention, communication and critical thinking skills must be trained. Suggestions for follow-up research are: First, it is necessary to compare and analyze the four stages of translation and the stage of the creative problem-solving model presented by ANT. Second, it is expected that there will be follow-up studies that apply specific cases centering on ANT.

본고는 작년 11월 대한기계학회 추기학술대회에 초청되어 행한 특별강연의 내용에 따라서 정 리한 것이다. 기계공학교육의 총론이라기 보다 오히려 동경대학 기계계학과의 실상소계에 그 치고 있으나 한국의 동료제형의 참고가 되면 다행으로 생각한다. 이를 계기로 기계공학교육의 분야에서도 한. 일교류와 상호이해가 한층 진전되는 것을 기대한다. 마지막으로 본고의 번역을 위하여 수고해 주신 이택식 대한기계공학회 전회장께 심심한 감사의 뜻을 표한다.

MTEBI는 미국에서 초등 예비 교사들의 수학 교수 효능감을 측정하는데 자주 이용되는 척도이다. 이 연구의 목적은 MTEBI를 한국의 중등 예비 교사들에게 사용하는 것이 적합한지를 탐색하는 것이었다. 이를 위하여, 미국에 있는 대학원에 다니며 영어와 국어 둘 다 말할 수 있는 박사 학생 두 명이 MTEBI를 브리슬린의 이론대로 국문으로 번역하였고, 그 뒤에 한국에 있는 다수의 수학 교사 교육자들이 번역된 척도를 면밀하게 검토하였다. 한글판 척도를 먼저 작은 표본에서 초벌 실험하였는데, 두 개 문항이 도구의 신뢰도와 타당도를 현저하게 떨어뜨렸다. 본 연구에서는 이 두 개의 유용하지 못한 문항을 대신할 두 개 문항을 더한 23개 문항으로 구성된 척도에 대하여 정규성, 신뢰도, 요인 타당도 등을 658명의 표본에서 검사하였다. 초벌 연구에서 발견된 두 개의 유효하지 않는 문항은 본 연구에서도 역시 그와 같아서, 그 두 문항은 척도에서 제거되었다. 최종적으로 얻어진 21 문항 척도는 한국의 예비 수학 교사들의 수학 교수 효능감을 측정하는데 적합한 척도이다. 앞으로, MTEBI 한글판을 이용하여 한국에서 교사 효능감에 대한 연구가 활발하게 일어나기를 기대한다.

This paper is motivated by Watanabe's (2001) observation that English byphrase passives are sometimes translated into Japanese object topicalization constructions. That is, the original English sentence in the passive may be translated into the active voice with the logical object topicalized. A number of scholars, including Chomsky (1981) and Baker (1992), have remarked that languages have various ways to avoid focusing on the logical subject. The aim of the present study is to examine the translation equivalents of the English by-phrase passives in an English-Korean parallel corpus compiled by the author. A small sample of articles from Newsweek magazine and its published Korean translation reveals that there are indeed many ways to translate English by-phrase passives, including object topicalization (12.5%). Among the 64 translated sentences analyzed and classified, 12 (18.8%) examples were problematic in terms of agent defocusing, which is the primary function of passives. Of these 12 instances, five cases were identified where an alternative translation would be more suitable. The results suggest that the functional characteristics of English by-phrase passives should be highlighted in translator training as well as language teaching.

Purpose : This study aimed to conduct a translation, backtranslation, and content validity test of the Sensory Processing Measure (SPM) for Korean children. Methods : The translation and content validation process involved direct and backward translation; a test of equivalence between the two versions (the original SPM and the Korean version SPM; K-SPM) was performed using content-related evidence collected by a group of experts and a group of parents. Data analysis was carried out using Excel Content validity indices (CVI), mean, and standard deviation were used for the analysis of content validity. Results : The result of the comparison between the original SPM and K-SPM in the group of experts was 3.54 ± .74, the S-CVI/Avg for semanticity was .92, and the S-CVI/Avg for structure was .86. The results for the mean of the understanding test and the S-CVI/Avg were 3.48 ± .63 and .94, respectively. Conclusion : K-SPM will considerately be used as an assessment to identify sensory processing, praxis, and social participation issues for children in Korea. Further studies are suggested to increase the age range and the sample size for a more comprehensive applicability of the K-SPM to Korean children.

Cyphert 씨는 미국 California주 Torrance통합교육구의 교과과정 자문위원이다. 학교도서관과 학습활동이 어떻게 연결되어야 할 것인가? 하는 문제는 이제 우리의 중요 관심사로 되어있거니와, 이 글은 이러한 문제에 관하여 많은 시준를 던져주고있다.

한국이 세계 해양 분야의 선두로 나아가고, 주도권을 갖기 위해서는 한국이 주도하는 해기 교육 영문화 작업이 필수적이다. '2015 알제리 VTS 교재 제작 프로젝트'에 참여한 경험을 바탕으로, 해기 교육 글로벌화를 위한 영문화 작업 시 필수적으로 고려되어야 할 문제점들을 짚어 보고, 한국이 해사교육 글로벌화를 위한 기술 교재의 영문화를 위해 갖추어야 할 대안들을 도출해보려 한다.
