Research of the Intelligent Home Service Agent Bundle Based on OSGi Framework (OSGi 프레임워크에서의 지능적인 홈서비스 에이전트 번들에 관한 연구)

  • 본 논문에서는 OSGi 프레임워크 기반의 지능적인 홈서비스 에이전트 번들에 관한 연구를 통해서 사용자를 위한 자동적인 홈서비스를 제공하는 에이전트 모델을 제시하고자 한다. 제안된 에이전트 번들은 홈 네트워크가 구비된 스마트 홈 환경에서 사용자와 홈 가전과의 지능적인 매개체로서 동작하여 사용자의 행동패턴을 예측하여 필요한 홈 서비스를 사용자가 요청하기 전에 제공하는 역할을 담당한다. 본 논문에서는 OSGi 프레임워크에서의 지능적인 홈 서비스 에이전트 번들에 대한 구조를 제시하며 에이전트 번들에 대한 세부 구성요소에 대한 설명을 한다. 또한 에이전트 번들은 사용자의 생체 데이터를 기반으로 사용자를 위한 지능적인 홈 서비스를 제공하는데 이를 위하여 사용자 생체 데이터를 세분화한 컨텍스트 모델을 제시한다. 에이전트 번들이 지능적으로 동작하기 위하여 머신러닝 기법이 사용되었다. 본 논문에서 제시된 홈 서비스라 함은 OSGi 프레임워크에 연결된 실내 가전제품들을 말하며 홈 서비스 에이전트 번들에서는 사용자의 생체 데이터를 분석하여 사용자가 제공받기를 원하는 가전제품의 서비스 상태를 제시한다. 이 출력 값을 전달받아서 가정 내 가전제품을 제어할 수 있는 가전제어 서비스 번들이 요구되는데 본 논문에서는 가전제어 서비스 번들에 대한 구조에 대하여 설명한다. 차후의 연구에서는 지능적인 홈 서비스 에이전트 번들과 이 번들의 출력 값으로 동작하는 가전제어 서비스 번들 및 부가 서비스 번들에 대한 통합 모델 을 가지는 번들 매니저에 대한 연구가 진행될 것이다.

WOBR : A WebDAV-Based OSGi Bundle Repository Supporting Effective Group Access (WOBR : 효과적인 그룹별 접근을 지원하는 웹데브 기반의 OSGi 번들 저장소)

  • The OSGi framework is a java-based service platform that can be remotely managed, providing an application life cycle management model, a service registry and an execution environment. Based on the framework, various OSGi layers, APIs, and services have been defined. A bundle is an application that can be executed in the OSGi framework, deployed through a bundle repository. Usually, bundles in the repository are accessible via a designated web page. Unfortunately, the current bundle repositories do not provide any kind of group access services and dynamic bundle installation and deployment. In this paper, we describe a WebDAV-Based OSGi bundle repository named WOBR, which supports effective group-based accesses. WOBR is composed of a WOBR bundle repository, a management bundle and an access bundle that interact with the bundle repository. The management bundle is for configuration of the WOBR bundle repository, managing group access facility to the repository. The access bundle provides access to the repository and search mechanism for the bundles. Additionally, it provides the life cycle management of the installed bundles on the local environment.

The Effects on Social Welfare and Regulation of Bundling in Telecommunications Service (정보통신서비스 번들링의 경제적 효과분석과 규제개선 방안)

  • This paper provides the analysis of economic theories about bundling in telecommunications service. First, the negative aspect of bundling is discussed. Second, the competitively neutral aspect of bundling which is counter response of negative effect is analyzed. Third, some variables affecting the bundling is investigated and the corresponding effect of bundling is discussed. The bundling can increase the social welfare under some circumstance while it sometimes decreases economic efficiency by detering the entry of competitive firms. Finally, regulatory approaches on bundling such as the criteria of bundling provision, the requirement of equal access, the discounting scheme ad a price control, ex anti regulation vs. ex post regulation, and the criteria of predatory pricing are provided.

A Study on Marketing Strategy of MIM Emoticon Using Customized Bundling (맞춤 번들링을 활용한 MIM 이모티콘 마케팅 전략에 관한 연구)

  • This study confirms the responses of consumers when the composition of emoticon bundles can be selected by individuals in MIM service. This aims to verify that customized bundling is a valid marketing strategy in the MIM emoticon market. Currently, the emoticon bundling used in Korean MIM services is in the form of pure bundling. As a result, Consumers must purchase an entire bundle even though he/she doesn't need to use all the emoticons contained in it. Some researches(e.g. Hitt & Chen, 2005; Wu & Anandalingam, 2002) show that when consumers value only part of the products or services included in pure bundling, customized bundling is much more profitable. In their works, customized bundling is appropriate when marginal costs are near zero. Information goods, such as emoticons, meet the condition. On the other hand, customized bundling increase the choosable options, so it can pose a problem of complexity (Blecker et al., 2004). And consumers may experience information overload(Huffman & Kahn, 1998). Thus, judgement on the necessity to introduce customized bundling needs to be made through empirical analyses in the light of characteristics of the product and the reaction of consumers. Results show that when customized bundling was introduced, consumers' purchase intention and willingness to pay significantly increased. Purchase intention for customized bundles has increased by 0.44 based on the five point Likert scale than the purchase intention for existing pure bundles. The increase in purchase intention for customized bundles was statistically independent of the existing purchasing experience. In addition, the willingness to pay was increased by about 2.8% compared to the price of the existing emoticon bundles in the whole group. The group with experience in purchasing pure bundles were willing to pay 5.9% more than pure bundles. The other group without experience in purchasing pure bundles were willing to buy if they were about 5% cheaper than the existing price. Overall, introducing customized bundling into emoticon bundles can lead to positive consumers responses and be a viable marketing strategy.

  • 현재 XML은 데이터의 표현에 있어서 가장 유연하고 독립성 있는 언어로 자리잡고 있으며 다양한 분야에서 활용되고 있다. 이러한 추세에 따라 OSGi 서비스 플랫폼 환경에서도 여러 서비스들이 자신의 데이터를 XML로 표현하고 있으며, 이를 기반으로 서비스 번들의 인증을 XML 전자 서명을 생성하여 수행할 수 있다. 현재 OSGi 에서는 PKI기반 서비스 번들 인중 메커니즘을 이용하고 RSH 프로토콜을 권고하고 있다. 그러나 저장 공간이나 연산이 제한된 환경에 있는 OSGi플랫폼 내에서 작동하는 데에는 어려움이 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 JAR파일로 제공되는 서비스 번들에 대해 별도의 연산이나 인증과정 없이 XML 전자서명을 생성하여 서비스 번들을 인증하는 메커니즘을 제시한다.

A Design of Scalable SNMP Agent Bundle Based on OSGi Framework (OSGi 프레임워크기반 확장형 SNMP 에이전트 번들 설계)

  • A traditional agent was difficult to upgrade and to add MIB implementation code to it because most SNMP agent designs had MIB that was not a self-contained module. To solve this problem, we design the SNMP agent bundle composed of remotely uploadable SNMP agent core bundle and MIB Bundle Also, downloadable server bundle and user administration bundle is added to SNMP agent bundle to download MIB bundle from bundle server. By designing MB-MIB, we enable the network manager to monitor status of MIB bundle on managed devices. The network manager is allowed to install and upgrade the SNMP module or MIB remotely on line. This is the major benefit of designing the SNMP agent bundle based on OSGi. Finally, we expect the network manager to reduce time and expenses in managing enormous networks by using the SNMP agent bundle.

Interaction Effects of Purchase Cycle and Bundle Type on Promotion Effectiveness (제품구매주기와 번들유형이 프로모션 효과에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this research is to investigate how purchase cycle of a product and bundle frame influence consumers' responses to the bundle promotion. In order to test hypotheses of this study, we conducted an experimental study that was a 2(Purchase cyle: Long vs. Short) X 2(Bundle frame: 1+1 vs. Buy2 and 50% off) between-subjects design. The reseults of this study showed the interaction effects of purchase cycle of product and bundle frame on perceived level of discount and product attitude. Based on the results, we provide theoretical implcations to extent the existing research regarding bundling promotion. Moreover, the results of this study suggest some practical implications and a new aspect about bunle promotions.

Evaluation of User Satisfaction for Bundled Software (번들소프트웨어의 사용자 만족도 조사 연구)

  • Usually, bundled software is unwittingly packaged with a user's PC when purchased it. A reason of provides it is for manufacturers to increase the value of the product. However, almost users cannot recognize bundled SW. Paradoxically, sometimes the bundled SW may complain to the user. Eventually these symptoms negatively affect the product. As a result, the SW bundle could not reflect user needs. This study for installed bundled SW on users laptop and we would like to know the understanding and acceptance it of the user. Finally, how can we provides it more effectiveness and looking for ways to make was conducted. From a user perspective, these study four major countries (USA, Germany, China, South Korea) laptop users to perform a total 3,000 people were surveyed. A method of investigation was the quantitative evaluation survey and was conducted online survey approach. Through this study was an analysis to awareness of users by different ages, gender, and usage patterns. Bundle SW through the study of the laptop to the user, effectively providing a way to be confirmed. And right through bundle SW distribution is expected to increase the manufacturer's worth.

  • The OSGi service platform has several characteristics as in the followings. First, the service is deployed in the form of self-installable component called service bundle. Second, the service is dynamic according to its life-cycle and has interactions with other services. Third, the system resources of a home gateway are restricted. Due to these characteristics of a home gateway, there are a lot of rooms for malicious services can be Installed, and further, the nature of service can be changed. It is possible for those service bundles to influence badly on service gateways and users. However, there is no service bundle authentication mechanism considering those characteristics for the home gateway In this paper, we propose a service bundle authentication mechanism considering those characteristics for the home gateway environment. We design the mechanism for sharing a key which transports a service bundle safely in bootstrapping step that recognize and initialize equipments. And we propose the service bundle authentication mechanism based on MAC that use a shared secret created in bootstrapping step. Also we verify the safety of key sharing mechanism and service bundle authentication mechanism using a BAN Logic. This service bundle authentication mechanism Is more efficient than PKI-based service bundle authentication mechanism or RSH protocol in the service platform which has restricted resources such as storage spaces and operations.

  • 기존의 네트워크 환경에서의 서비스와 달리 OSGi 프레임워크 환경에서의 서비스는 생명 주기에 따라 동적이고, 다른 서비스와의 상호작용 등이 일어나기 때문에 거짓 오퍼레이터(OP)에 의해 인증되지 않은 악의적인 서비스가 배치될 수 있고 또한 서비스가 변질 될 수도 있다. 그러므로, 개방형 서비스 게이트웨이 (OSG)를 시동하였을 때 초기화하는 과정인 부트스트랩핑(Bootstrapping)단계에서 공유 비밀키(shared secret)를 생성, 이로부터 유도된 MAC(Message Authentication Codes) Key를 기반으로 한 서비스 번들 인증을 통하여 안전한 서비스를 제공받을 수 있어야 한다. 본 논문에서는 서비스 번들을 인증 하기 위한 키 교환 방법과 서비스 인증 메커니즘을 제시하였다. 대칭키, 공개키의 키 교환 메커니즘은 대칭키를 이용한 키 교환 메커니즘이 공개키를 이용한 것보다 더 효율적이며, 이를 이용한 MAC 기반 서비스 번들 인증 또한 기존의 PKI 기반 서비스 번들 인증보다 인증 속도가 빠르다.
