Study on control of orientation of multicomponent thin film by laser ablation (레이저 어블레이션에 의한 다성분 박막의 방향성 제어 연구)

  • 펄스 레이저 증착법을 이용하여 MgO 기판 위에 YBCO 박막을 c 축으로 성장시켰다. 이를 위하여 다양한 두께의 YBCO 박막을 여러 온도에서 증착시킴으로서 두께와 온도에 따른 YBCO 박막의 방향성을 조사하였다. 레이저원으로는 Nd:YAG 레이저의 355 nm의 파장을 이용하였으며, 증착시 기판온도는 $700^{\circ}C$$750^{\circ}C$에서 박막의 두께를 $3,000{\AA}$, $10,000{\AA}$, $20,000{\AA}$ 등으로 변화시켜 증착하였다. 이렇게 증착되어진 박막의 표면은 SEM으로 관촬되어졌으며, Raman Spectrascopy로 박막을 분석하였고, XRD를 사용하여 그 박막의 배향성을 연구하였다. 본 논문에서는 이와 같은 분석과 연구를 통하여 증착되어진 다성분 박막의 배향성이 기판온도와 박막두께에 따라 민감하게 변화함을 체계적으로 분석하였으며, 그 결과 기판온도와 박막 두께에 따른 YBCO 박막의 a 축, c 축 성장의 의존성을 확인하였다.

Ellipsometric Expressions of Multilayered Substrate Coated with a Uniaxially Anisotropic Alignment Layer (단축이방성 배향막이 코팅되어 있는 다층박막시료의 타원식)

  • The effective reflection coefficients of an obliquely incident wave on a multi-layered substrate coated with a uniaxially anisotropic alignment layer are derived. The effective reflection coefficients as well as explicit ellipsometric expressions are provided as a function of film constants of multiple layers together with magnitude of anisotropy, direction of optic axis, and thickness of the alignment layer. It is expected that by adapting these expressions to the conventional modelling technique, the ordinary refractive index, the extra-ordinary refractive index, the azimuth angle and the tilt angle of the optic axis, and the thickness of the aligned surface can be determined simultaneously together with the thickness and volume fraction of each layer beneath the alignment layer.

  • 본 연구의 목표는 임의의 3차원 사출성형 금형 공간내에서 단섬유 강화 플라스틱의 충전 공정에서의 과도기적 섬유방향성을 예측하는 수치해석 프로그램의 개발에 있다. Hele-Shaw 방정식에 단섬유에 의해서 추가된 응력을 고려한 Dinh-Armstrong의 모델을 도 입함으로써 새로운 충전과정의 압력 지배 방정식이 유도되었다. 새로운 압력지배 방정식은 단섬유에 의한 응력 때문에 몇 개의 새로운 항들을 포함하고 있다. 충전 과정의 해석은 새 로운 압력지배방정식과 에너지 방정식을 유한효소법과 유한 차분법을 이용하여 풀고 동시에 배향텐서(roientation tensor)의 변화 방정식을 4차 Runge-Kutta 방법을 이용하여 풀었다. 단섬유 배향 텐서를 텐서의 변환 법칙을 이용하여 임의의 3차원 금형 공간내의 모든유한요 소의 중심에서 두께방향의 모든유한 차분 격자를 따라 계산하였다. 이러한 방법으로 임의의 3차원 사출성형 금형 공간내에서 비등온 충전유동과 과도기적 3차원 섬유배향상태를 서로의 상호작용을 고려하여 수치 모사하여 다양한 유동 형태에 따른 단섬유 배향 상태의 변화에 대하여 알아보고자 한다.

Alignments of Reactive Mesogen Using Rubbed Glass Substrates (러빙한 유리 기판을 이용한 반응성 액정 배향)

  • Alignments of photo-reactive mesogen were induced using bare glass substrates without a polymer alignment layer. It was found by using polarized FTIR spectroscopy, polarized microscopy, and birefringence measurement experiments that the reactive mesogen could be aligned along the rubbing direction although the glass substrate without an alignment layer was used. The induction mechanism of the rubbed bare glass is ascribed to that polymers from rubbing clothes are coated on the glass substrate along the rubbing direction and lead the alignment of liquid crystals through intermolecular interactions.

Tribological Properties of Laminated Fiber Orientation in Carbon Fiber/Epoxy Composites for Reflecting Material of the Electromagnetic Wave (전자파 반사재료로 사용되는 탄소섬유/에폭시 복합재료의 적층 탄소섬유 방향성이 마찰특성에 미치는 영향)

  • The effect of carbon fiber orientation on the tribological properties of carbon fiber/epoxy composites used as a reflecting material for the electromagnetic wave has been investigated. It was found that the carbon fiber/epoxy composite which slides normal to prepreg lay-up direction had less friction and wear that those slides parallel to prepreg fiber lay-up direction due to the increase of delamination between carbon fiber and epoxy. Composite with unidirectional orientation($0/0^{\circ}$) had higher tribological properties than those with multidirectional orientation($0/45/90/-45^{\circ}$ and $0/90^{\circ}$) when the sliding direction was normal to prepreg lay-up direction. This was caused by the debonding between carbon fiber and epoxy which is proportional to contact area between the sliding surface and carbon fiber. Opposite results have been found when the sliding direction was parallel to prepreg lay-up direction due tot he tensile force applied on carbon fiber. In addition, it was shown that wear factor increased with increasing sliding velocity but the friction coefficient did not depend upon the sliding velocity.

Effect of Fiber Orientation on Ionic Conductivity of Electrospun Polyimide Nanofibers Mats (전기방사 폴리이미드 나노섬유매트의 섬유배향이 이온전도도에 미치는 영향)

  • In this study, polyimide(PI) nanofibers mats were prepared by electrospinning and three different fiber morphologies of random, uniaxial, and biaxial orientation were prepared by controlling the speed of drum-shaped collector and other parameters. The SEM studies reveal that the aforesaid morphologies were obtained on the nano-fibrous mats prepared. The ionic conductivity was measured using an in-plane type conductivity tester for the PI mats soaked in the mixture of 1M lithium trifluoro-methane-sulfonate and tetra-ethylene glycol dimethyl ether. The ionic conductivity was surprisingly higher for the biaxial PI mats. For the uniaxially-oriented mats, the ionic conductivity was found to be higher in the parallel direction compared to the perpendicular direction of the fiber orientation. A curious cyclic fluctuation was found in the ionic conductivity with time. The observed behavior was explained by considering the distance between fibers and transport speed of ions used in this study.

  • We studied the mechanism of liquid crystal alignment on polyvinylfluorocinnamate (PVCN-F) films which were irradiated by UV using polarized fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy and ultraviolet/visible (UV/Vis) spectroscopy. UV irradiation of PVCN-F films caused decrease of vinylene -C=C- stretching peak area at $1638cm^{-1}$ and shift of conjugated C:0 stretching vibration at $1712cm^{-1}\;to\;1734cm^{-1}$ which is caused by nonconjugated C=O stretching nitration. To study the orientation direction of 5CB liquid crystal (LC) molecules in the liquid crystal cell with PUV irradiation, rubbing treatment or without any treatment on the PVCN-F alignment layer, we used polarized FT-IR dichroism technique. We successfully measured 5CB LC alignment directions, which are perpendicular to the irradiated PUV polarization direction and parallel to the rubbing direction in the liquid crystal cell without using dichroic dyes.

  • 현재 변압기 철심 재료는 주로 방향성 전기 강판이 사용되고 있으며, 우수한 자기유도 특성과 낮은 철손이 중요한 요건이다. 방향성 전기강판은 약 3%Si을 함유하며 2차 재결정에 의해 {100}<001> Gross texture로 배향된다. 극박 3%Si-Fe의 2차 재결정에 미치는 냉간 압연율의 효과에 대한 연구결과 보고는 거의 없다. 본 연구의 목적은 다단 냉간압연에 의해 제조되는 박판 3%Si-Fe strip의 자기유도에 미치는 최종 냉간 압연율의 효과를 밝히는 것이다. (중략)

  • Induction mechanism of molecular orientations for a rubbed polymer film as an alignment layer was investigated using polarized UV/Vis spectroscopic experiments for polyimide and polyvinylcinnamate whose conjugated electrons are located along main chain and side chain, respectively. By determining anisotropy formed in the rubbed film, LC director formed in the LC cell, and orientation direction of deposited pentacene molecules, it was found that LC orientation was induced mainly by molecular interactions whereas surface microgrooves formed by the rubbing process affect the orientation direction of deposited pentacene molecules.

  • PEN (Polyethylene 2,6-dicarboxyl naphthalate)은 PET와 화학적 구조가 유사한 polyester 이다. PEN은 PET 의 benzene ring 대신 naphthalene ring이 있는 구조로서 rigid 한 구조를 바탕으로 PET 보다 훨씬 우수한 기계적 물성과 기체 차단성 및 전기 절연성을 가지고 있기 때문에, 현재 PEN에 대해서는 많은 연구가 진행되었고, 상업용으로도 생산되고 있다. 현재까지 진행된 PEN에 대한 연구 중 X-ray를 이용한 배향 거동에 대한 연구보고는 많았으나, 아직까지 FTIR-ATR 을 통해서 시료의 Machine Direction (MD), Transverse Direction (TD), Normal Direction (ND)의 세 방향으로 필름의 3차원적 분자 배향의 거동에 대한 연구보고는 없다.
