  • This paper presents an optimization technique using genetic algorithms(GA) for loss minimization in the distribution network reconfiguration. Determining switch position to be opened for loss minimization in the radial distribution system is a discrete optimization problem. GA is appropriate to solve the multivariable optimization problem and it uses population, not a solution. For this reason, GA is attractive to solve this problem. In this paper, we aimed at finding appropriate open sectionalizing switch position using GA, which can lead to minimum transmission losses.

  • A feasibility study on the characterization of incipient insulator failure for distribution fault prediction is presented. In this study, real distribution data was collected and analyzed to isolate incipient failure signatures or parameters which were expected to show distinct behaviors before and after failure incident. Several signal analysis methods were applied to isolate the parameters and a new strategy of analysis, the event-date concept, was also applied to find a relationship between non-harmonic and high frequency signal activities and imminent insulator failures.

  • The arc fusion faults in the distribution lines are occurred by lightning surge, stress corrosion and substance touching. Arc fusion fault by lightning surge is one of the most frequent occurrence. In this report, we studied the mechanisms of the Arc fusion faults. Also, we analyzed the reduction effects for surge voltage of lightning protective equipments.

  • In this paper we propose multi-grounded neutral design method which was considered of transferred transient overvoltage when line to neutral fault occurs. Specially, In order to confirm the actual transient overvoltage magnitude which occurs on neutral line, we considered some screening(shielding) effects. The screening coefficient was deducted from field test results and calculation in a distribution line which is identical with an actual power line. The purpose of this paper is to attempt to suggest the guidance for grounding skystem design considering limitation of overvoltage for LV side in IEC 61936. The result is based on EMTP simulation and real field faults situation in distribution lines.

  • This paper described the verification of modeling technique of underground distribution from comparison between field test and simulation. It needs more exact transient phenomenon analysis model to establish lightning protection of underground distribution line. Although, there were a lot of transient phenomenon researches, nobody could has verified the confidence of modeling from field tests in interior until now. So, simulation model verified field test is needed to analyse transient phenomenon of underground distribution system. The examination must be accomplished in many different condition before suggesting these verified analysis model. In this paper, the conditions were examined and the various data results on the different line composition was compared with the EMTP simulation, when the lightning impulse test was accomplished at underground distribution line. Also the value between field test and simulation was very closed and the method of modeling has demonstrated confidence, when the method is used to analyse domestic transient phenomenon of underground distribution.

  • 맨홀 설치간격과 설치장소선정은 케이블 포설장력과 관계가 깊다. 케이블 포설장력은 맨홀의 설치위치와 경간에 의해 이미 정해지기 때문이다. 맨홀경간이 길어지면 설치개소가 적어져 공사비가 절감이 되기 때문에 경제적인 이점이 있지만 반대로 케이블에는 포설장력이 반비례하게 증가하게 된다. 케이블의 수명을 오래동안 유지하기 위해서는 케이블에 적당한 장력이 걸리게 해야 하고 경제적인 측면에서도 경간을 증가시켜야 되는 상황에 처하게 된다. 설계자는 이에 경제적이고도 안정적인 지중배전선로를 구성하기 위해서는 반드시 케이블 포설장력을 계산하여 설계에 반영하여야 한다. 본고에서는 유형별로 케이블 포설장력을 계산하는 방법을 기술하였고 포설장력 산출결과에 따라 경제적인 맨홀설치 방안을 제시하였다.

  • Power system has been improved during for a long time by customers demand. Power suppliers has researched the power system component for more electricity transmission. One of the research is apply the thermal conductors in new cable. The operational temperature of thermal conductors is higher than normal aluminum that thermal conductor is composed of aluminum, Zr(zirconium) and etc. Increase of operational temperature is growth of the transmission capability. Power suppliers was concerned about the increase of operation temperature by thermal conductors. Therefore, the thermal conductor has the possibility that expanded application in power system. In this paper analysed effect of thermal conductor in power distribution system.

  • A single line diagram is a graphic user interface to represent electrical connectivity between power equipments in distribution automation systems. This paper proposes a new single line auto-drawing technique based on the service oriented architecture. Web service, CIM(Common Information Model) and SVG(Scalable Vector Graphics) are adopted to implement SOA concept. A web service demo system was established which is configured with the service provider, consumer and broker to verify the feasibility of this study.

  • This paper describes a modeling and current control techniques of Distribution static condenser (D-STATCON) for power factor compensation. The current control is based on the predictive and the space vector PWM scheme. The predictive current controlled PWM D-STATCON can maintain its performance with power factor compensation and fixed switching frequency. By using the space vector control low ripple and offset in the current and the voltage as well as fast dynamic responses are achieved with a small DC link capacitance employed.

  • 일반적으로 전력 품질을 저하시키는 여러 문제들 중에서 가장 빈도가 높고 민감한 부하를 가지고 있는 수용가에 많은 영향을 주고 있는 것이 순간적인 전압상승(voltage swell)과 전압 강하(voltage sag)인데, 순간 전압 강하는 짧은 시간 동안 공급 전압의 크기가 줄어드는 것으로 대부분 인접한 배전 선로에서의 사고가 그 원인으로 작용한다. 이러한 순간 전압 강하는 제조공정의 제어를 위한 자동화 기기 등의 오동작이나 작업정지 등의 문제를 유발하여 경제적으로 큰 손실을 일으키게 되는데 이러한 순간 전압 강하의 문제를 해결하기 위한 대표적인 전력 전자 기기로는 일반적으로 동적 전압 보상기(Dynamic Voltage Restore: DVR)가 있다. 본 논문에서는 새로운 3상 Quasi Z-소스 DVR을 제안하였다.
