Relationship of Bone Mineral Density Measured by Ultrasound Bone Densitometry and Body Composition or Backmuscle Strength (초음파방식으로 측정된 골밀도와 신체조성 및 배근력의 관계)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the relationship between bone mineral density (BMD) and body composition (BC) or backmuscle strength (BS). Sixty-one participants were measured by BMD using ultrasound bone densitometry and Inbody for BC (i.e., SLM=Soft lean mass, SMM=Skeletal muscle mass, FS=Fitness score. et al.), BS after self-questionnaire for life cycle. This study was performed after approving Institutional Review Board and obtaining the informed concent from all participants. Participants was divided into two group by BMD T-score; $T-score{\geq}-1.0$, T-score<-1.0. Statistical analysis was performed by using SPSS ver. 22.0(USA), Spearma test for correlation between BMD and BC or BS. BMD or SLM, BS was increased with increasing physical activity or body mass index. SMM or SMM, FS of BMD $T-score{\geq}-1.0$ group was higher than that of T-score <-1.0 group as well as BS(p>0.05). BMD T-score was correlated positively with SLM(r= 0.424) or SMM(r= 0.431) in men, as well as in women(p<0.05). BS was correlated positively with SLM or SMM, FS. BS was significantly positive correlated with BMD in women group (r= 0.591, p= 0.001), but not in men group. We concluded that BMD is the relationship with SLM or SMM, as well as BS in women.

The Association between Resistance Exercise Frequency, Muscular Strength, and Health-Related Quality of Life in Korean Cancer Patients: The Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES) 2014-2016 (한국 암환자들의 근력운동 빈도, 근력과 건강관련 삶의 질과의 관계: 국민건강영양조사 2014-2016년)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the association between resistance exercise frequency, muscular strength, and health-related quality of life in Korean cancer patients. We performed complex sample general linear model and logistic regression analysis using data from a total of 647 cancer patients in the 2014~2016 Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES). Participants who were participating in resistance exercise 0~1 day per week had lower EQ-5D index (0.852±0.016 vs. 0.890±0.020; p=0.006) and a significantly higher risk of having problems in mobility (Odd ratio[OR]=4.07; 95% confidence interval [CI]=1.31-12.63) compared to those who were participating in resistance exercise ≥ 5 days per week. Participants with low hand-grip strength had lower EQ-5D index (0.850±0.018 vs. 0.911±0.016; p<0.001) and a significantly higher risk of having problems in mobility (OR=4.94, 95% CI=2.14-11.41), usual activities (OR=5.18, 95% CI=1.56-17.14), and pain/discomfort (OR=2.46, 95% CI=1.33-4.55) compared to those with high hand-grip strength. This study showed that resistance exercise frequency and muscular strength were associated with health-related quality of life in Korean cancer patients.

  • 30세 이후 근력은 지속적으로 감소하며, 운동을 꾸준히 하지 않는 이상 60세 이후 30% 정도 소실되는 것으로 알려졌다. 근육량이 적어지면 기초대사량이 감소하여 쉽게 살이 찌고, 고혈압 등 만성질환 등에 노출되기 쉽다. 또한, 하체근력이 약화되면 걷기 등 일상생활에서 문제가 따르고, 낙상 등의 위험도 배가 된다. 따라서 건강한 노후생활을 즐기기 위해서는 근력을 유지하는 것이 필수라고 해도 무방하다.

Effect of the Prevention Programs for Musculoskeletal Disorders in one Farming Village (일부 농업인에서의 근골격계 질환 관리 프로그램의 효과)

  • 일개 농촌 마을에서 농한기를 활용하여 시행된 근골격계 질환 예방사업을 소개하고 주요 사업결과를 분석하여 농업인의 건강증진을 위한 기초자료로 활용하고자 본 연구를 수행하였다. 2006년 12월 5일부터 2007년 1월 26일까지 사곳리 마을회관을 12회 방문하여 4번의 기초교육과 5번의 심화교육 등 9번의 근력 및 유연성 강화교육을 실시하였다. 교육 전(사전평가), 기초교육과 심화교육 사이(중간평가), 교육 후(최종평가) 등 3회에 걸쳐 의사 2인에 의한 근골격계 질환 평가, 시각통증척도에 의한 근골격계 통증 평가, 생활체육 전문가 3인에 의한 좌우의 악력, 배근력, 하지근력, 몸통, 어깨, 하지, 무릎유연성 측정을 통한 근골격계 근력 및 유연성 평가, 설문지를 사용한 어깨, 허리, 무릎의 기능 평가를 실시하였다. 총 12회의 일정 중 1회 이상 참석한 농업인은 총 57명이었으며 남자가 20명(35.1%), 여자가 37명(64.9%)이었으며 평균 연령은 60.7(±8.1)세였다. 근골격계 질환 검진에서 한 번 이상의 검진을 받았던 43명중 32명(74%)이 한 가지 이상의 근골격계 질환을 가지고 있었으며, 퇴행성관절염이 26명(60.5%), 근막통 증후군이 19명(44.2%), 허리디스크가 10명(23.3%)이었다.목어깨, 허리, 무릎다리의 통증정도는 1차, 2차 평가 간, 2차, 3차 평가 간, 1차, 3차 평가 간의 비교에서 모두 감소하는 경향을 보였으며 3차 평가에서 1차 평가에 비해 목어깨, 허리, 무릎다리 모두 유의한 통증의 감소를 보였다(p<0.05). 근골격계의 기능을 1차, 2차 평가 간, 2차, 3차 평가 간, 1차, 3차 평가 간 비교한 결과 모두 기능점수가 우수하게 변화했으나 통계적으로 유의하지 않았다. 근력 및 유연성 정도는 좌우의 악력, 배근력, 하지근력, 몸통, 어깨, 하지, 무릎유연성을 측정하였으며 1차 평가에 비해 3차 평가에서 모든 항목에서 근력 및 유연성 정도가 통계적으로 유의하게 증가하였다(p<0.05).연구대상자의 수가 적었고, 농한기에 의한 근골격계 질환의 개선 효과를 배제할 수는 없었지만 이번연구를 통하여 일부 농업인에서 근골격계 질환 관리 프로그램 실시 후 근골격계 질환의 단기적인 개선효과를 볼 수 있었다. 근골격계 질환의 중장기적인 개선효과를 기대할 수 있는 추가적인 연구와 농번기를 통한 관리 프로그램에 대한 추가적인 연구가 필요하다.

Comparative Analysis of Body Composition and Basic Physical Strength between Model Majored Female College Students and General Female College Students (모델전공 여대생과 일반 여대생의 신체조성 및 기초체력 비교분석)

  • This research aimed at comparative analysis of body composition and basic physical strength of model majored female college students and general female college students. The research object was composed of 15 model majored female college students of D University, who learned the purpose of this research enough and wrote the consent form of voluntary participation and 15 general female college students, who have no medical history and currently no special disease, and no experience in regular exercise. They underwent body composition inspection, left right grasping power which is the basic physical strength, back muscle strength, flexibility, rapidity, muscle endurance, and the researcher performed descriptive statistics to calculate the average standard deviation, and analyzed to verify difference between groups by using independent t-test. With statistical significance level p<.05, the results are as follows. model majored female college students and general female college students showed meaningful difference between groups in weight, skeletal muscles, body fat volume, BMI and left right grasping power, back muscle strength, rapidity(p<.05). between groups in flexibility and muscle endurance(p>.05).

Effects of plyometric training on Sargent jump, posture control and lower extremity injury criterion in Taekwondo demonstrator (플라이오메트릭 트레이닝이 태권 시범 선수들의 서전트 점프, 자세 조절 및 하체 부상 준거에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of six weeks of plyometric training on Sargent jumps, posture control, and lower extremity injury criterion in Taekwondo demonstrator. Twenty healthy collegiate Taekwoondo demontrators were randomly assigned to either an exercise group (Ex = 10), and a control group (Con = 10), Con maintained their normal Taekwoondo demontration training schedule. Whereas Ex group completed the plyometric program in three times a week, 60 minute for 6 weeks. Testing before and after training include the Sargent jump, back muscle strength, Y-balance and lower extremity injury criterion. There are no significant increase in back muscle strength, but significant increase in Sargent jump. In postural control, the anterior was not significant, but there was a significant increase in the left and right posterolateral, posteromedial and the total score showed that there was no risk of injuries. In conclusion, plyometric training is a training method that needs to be actively utilized for power, dynamic posture control, lower extremity injury prevention, and rehabilitation.

Effects of core training on abdominal muscle strength, sagent lump, Y-balance and equilibrium sensory control in freestyle skiers (코어 훈련이 프리스타일 스키 선수들의 배근력, 서전트 점프, Y-자 검사 및 평형감각 조절 능력에 미치는 효과)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of 8 weeks of core training on the abdominal muscle strength, sargent lumps, Y-balance and equilibrium freestyle skiers'. Fourteen freestyle players were randomly assigned to the exercise group(Ex)(n=7) and control groups(Con)(n=7). Ex undertook a 8-week training program that included exercises for the Bench, Sideway bench, and Nordic hamstring whereas Con performed their usual activities. Muscular fitness were significant effect observed, but there was no difference between groups. The Y-balance test was effective in the front left, and the left and right left posteromedial showed significantly differences between the groups. In the total score, the Ex decreased to 7.5cm in the left and right difference and 1.66cm in the post, but the control group increased from 3.73cm in the pre-test to 7.01cm in the post-test. In the Equilibrium test, there was significant result in condition(C) in C2, C5, and C6. In conclusion, the 8-week core training was found to have a beneficial effect on the postural control in freestyle skiers'.

  • 최근 발표된 고대구로병원 최경묵 교수의 연구에 따르면 당뇨병환자의 근육감소증 발병률이 일반인에 비해 3배나 높은 것으로 나타났다. 실제 근육이 많으면 당 조절에도 효과적인 것으로 알려져 있다. 당뇨병에서 걷기나 달리기 등 유산소운동의 중요성에 대해서 많이 알려져 있고, 실제 대부분의 환자들이 실천하고 있지만, 근력운동은 소홀한 경우가 많다.

A Study of Body Composition and Backmusclestrength according to Physical Activity (신체활동 정도에 따른 신체 조성 및 배근력 연구)

  • To compare of body composition and backmusclestrength between physical activity group (PAG) and non-physical activity group (Non-PAG). From Jun 14 to July 13 2018, 66 students were divided into PAG (male 20, female 13) and Non-PAG (male 18, female 15) from questionnaires for general characteristics and activity. All participants were measured body composition (Inbody 720, Biospace, Korea) and backmusclestrength (T.K.K. 5402, TAKEI, Japan) after obtaining written informed consent. Statistical analysis was performed by independent t-test and cross-sectional test using SPSS ver. 19.0 (USA). Sex and body mass index were not significant difference between two groups. Exercise was significant difference between PAG and Non-PAG(100% vs. 45.5%, p<0.001), especially running and push-up, sit-up(p<0.001). Body composition was no significant difference between PAG and Non-PAG (p>0.05). Backmusclestrength was significantly higher in PAG than that in N on-PAG (p<0.01). It is suggested that exercise affects to Backmusclestrength.

The Differential Effects of Plyometric Training and Weight Training on Muscular Power, Agility and Maximal Muscular Strength of the Male and Female High-school Throwers (고등학교 투척선수들의 plyometric training과 weight training이 순발력, 민첩성 및 최대 근력에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this research was to investigate how the plyometric training and weight training program, applied in the field for exercise performance of throwing players, influenced improvement of athletic abilities, including agility, maximum muscular power, and strength. After implementing plyometric training and weight training to 21 high school throwing players for 10 weeks, we designed the next step. The 21 subjects were divided into two groups - women's group and men's group. All subjects were tested to determine agility using sidestep, burpee test, reaction time, lower body power and strength using standing long jump, standing jump, 30 m running, squats and leg presses. Additionally, isokinetic strength was measured using Cybex isokinetic dynamometer. The results showed that both groups demonstrated improvement in the standing long jump, standing jump and 30 m running after training. Particularly, the women's group indicated better improvement. Second, women's groups showed higher improvement in the sidestep and burpee test. However, in the reaction time test, the men's group indicated better improvement. Third, both groups showed better improvement in squats and leg presses after training. Particularly, the women's group indicated better improvement. Fourth, in the left and right side extension torque and flexion torque at a velocity of $60^{\circ}$/sec, both groups showed better improvement after training. In the left side extension peak torque, the men's group showed higher improvement, but the women's group showed higher improvement in the left side flexion and extension peak torque. Fifth, both groups showed better improvement in bench pressing and back strength after training. Particularly, the women's group indicated higher improvement.
