A Study on Tool Wear in Drilling STS 304 Steel Pipe Material (STS 304 배관재의 드릴가공시 공구마모에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this investigation is experimentally to clarify the machinability and tool wear of STS 304 steel pipe material for piping. In order to determine the effects of cutting parameters and tool wear on thrust, torque, AE RMS, drilling is conducted on CNC milling machine. In this experiment, it is measured that thrust, torque, tool wear length, tool wear area and AE RMS during drilling using Hss tool. It has been found that a) During the drilling, the thrust and the torque of the STS 304 pipe are received more the effect of the feed than the spindle speed and the thrust increase with the increase of feed, b) The value of the AE RMS is been larger the effect of the cutting speed than the feed rate, and the value of the AE RMS increase with the increase of spindle speed, c) It has been found that the suitable feed in feed condition of 0.03, 0.05, 0.1, 0.15mm/rev is below 0.05mm/rev, d) The value of the AE RMS was shown a characteristic of the jump value during it was a sudden inrcrease of the tool wear. The increased character of the AE RMS value can be known an effective factor of the tool wear detection, and e) It can be quantitatively evaluated the condition of the tool according to calculate a area of the drill wear image which is obtained by a vision system.

Fabrication and estimation of the plastic detector for measuring the contamination for beta-ray level of the kind of duct waste (배관류 폐기물의 베타선 오염도 측정용 플라스틱 검출기 제작 및 특성평가)

  • The characterization of radiological contamination inside pipes generated during the decommission of a nuclear facility is necessary before pipes can be recycled or disposed. But, existing direct measurements of radioactive contamination level using the survey-meter can not estimate the characteristic of contamination on a local area such as the pipe inside. Moreover, the measurement of surface contamination level using the indirect methods has many problems of an application because of the difficulty of collecting sample and contamination possibility of a worker when collecting sample. In this work, plastic scintillator was simulated by using Monte Carlo simulation method for detection of beta radiation emitted from internal surfaces of small diameter pipe. Simulation results predicted the optimum thickness and geometry of plastic scintillator at which energy absorption for beta radiation was maximized. In addition, the problem of scintillator processing and transferring the detector into the pipe inside was considered when fabricating the plastic detector on the basis of simulation results. The characteristic of detector fabricated was also estimated. As a result, it was confirmed that detector capability was suitable for the measurement of contamination level. Also, the development of a detector for estimating the radiological characteristic of contamination on a local area such as the pipe inside was proven to be feasible.

  • 조선업 및 화학공장 등 산업현장의 화재사고 중 용접$\cdot$용단작업시 불티에 의해 주위의 가연성물질을 착화시켜 화재, 폭발 사고를 일으키는 원인이 되고 있다. 이들 불꽃은 수평방향 및 틈새, 배관구멍 또는 마루나 댁의 작은 개구부 등을 통하여 비산되고 상당시간 훈소화재 형태를 유지하다 발화되어 화재의 원인이 되고 있다. 특히, 용단작업시 비산되는 불티는 $1,600^{\circ}C$ 이상의 고온체로서 산소 압력에 따라 다르나 약 11 m(산소압력, 7 kg/$cm^2$)까지 비산되어 이 반경내에 있는 가연물에 착화될 수 있으므로 이에 대한 예방대책이 필요한 작업공정이다.   • 도장작업은 기계 기구, 금속, 자동차, 전기 전자, 선박, 가구제조업 등 각종 사업장에서 많이 취급되고 있는 작업으로서 취급물질이 대부분 합성수지 유기용매 등 인화성 또는 가연성 액체이거나 가연성 분체로서 용매 또는 분진으로 인한 폭발 화재의 위험성이 아주 높은 실정이다. 보통 4류 위험물의 유증기는 공기보다 무겁다 라는 생각으로 발생된 모든 유증기는 위험물 인근에 체류할 것이라는 생각을 하지만 상온에서 증발한 유증기 대부분은 인근의 대기와의 밀도차에 의해 주변으로 흩어지거나 연소하고 중량(重量)의 유증기만이 남아 화재조사에서 중요한 단서로 역할을 한다. 대부분분의 페인트 제품이 가열과 동시에 끊기 시작해서 비등점 측정이 어려웠고 발화점이 비슷한 다른 페인트에 비해 중량(重量)유증기 발생이 단시간 동안 낮은 온도에서 많이 발생한 것은 페인트의 안료가 유증기 발생을 방해해서 시너의 유증기 발생량과 동일한 양의 페인트 유증기 발생시간이 더 걸린 것 같다. 대부분의 유증기는 집진시설을 통해 A/C타워의 활성탄에 흡착되어 제거된다. 하지만 슬러지에 남아있는 희석제는 A/C타워를 정지하고 집진시설등의 배관에 있는 슬러지 청소 과정에서 주위 열원에 의해 많은 유증기를 발생하여 화재의 위험성이 존재함으로 작업자의 각별한 주의가 필요하다.

  • A combustion project was completed regarding the development of a high-flow-rate purge burner in cooperation with three city gas companies(Pusan, Taegu, Samchulli). The project, started in May 1991, aimed at purging the line-packed-gas safely and quickly before getting into gas pipe working or relocation. According to the results, the purging noise is less than 80dB due to silencer screen. multi-nozzle and outlet inserted tube employed. In addition, the developed burner shows an increased work efficiency of 40-50% more as compared to the performance of conventional purge equipments. The project result is regarded as the first high-flow-rate purge burner developed within Korea. contributing to shortening purge hours, safe field work and easiness of purge site selection.

  • 가상의 공간에 실제의 설비를 구현하는 시뮬레이션 기술은 스마트팩토리를 구성하는 필수 요소 중의 하나이다. 다만, 현업의 제조 설비 도면을 시뮬레이션 소프트웨어에 적용하는데 있어 자유 곡선을 가지는 공압 배관 등의 모델 데이터는 작업의 난해함 등의 이유로 기 설계 도면에 누락되어 있는 경우가 빈번하다. 본 연구에서는 시뮬레이션 툴 중에 하나인 유니티를 이용하여 내부에서 직접 스윕 곡선을 생성하는 과정을 구현하였다. 이를 통해 기 설계 데이터에 누락된 다양한 자유 곡선 모델을 신속하게 시뮬레이션에 적용하는데 효과가 있을 것으로 기대된다.

  • The thickness of buried gas pipeline is determined mainly with internal pressure and location factor according to the requirements of ANSI B3l.8. But the stress of buried gas pipeline is determined by not only internal stress but also external loads. The change of burying and environmental conditions, therefore, may result in increasing stress of pipeline. In order to avoid the decrease of safety degree resulting from change of environmental condition, the evaluation of stress level shall be necessary. The reliable equations have been developed for calculating stress of buried pipeline from internal pressure, earth load, vehicle load, ground subsidence. But they are very difficult to understand and use for non-specialist. For easy calculation of non-specialist, the new computer program to calculate stress of buried natural gas pipeline have been developed. The program can calculate maximum stress resulted from earth load, vehicle load, thermal load, four type ground subsidence. The stress is calculated by the equations and extrapolation of the graph resulted from FEM. In this paper, as the series of paper I, the operating method and the functions of the program is explained.

  • Proper repair methods of damaged city gas pipeline is important factor to safely transmit gas and to reduce economical loss caused by failure of gas pipelines. Repair methods such as surfacing, type-A and type-B welding and composite sleeve method have been used to repair damaged city gas pipelines. In this paper, among repair methods, composite sleeve repair methods were conducted since they are rather simple processes and their repair quality is not sensitive to workers' ability compared with other repair methods. We discussed composite repair processes especially using carbon fiber prepregs and the experimental results.

A Study on Minimum Separation Distance for Aboveground High-pressure Natural Gas Pipelines (지상 고압 천연가스 배관의 최소 이격거리 기준에 관한 연구)

  • In Korea, the minimum separation distance between aboveground high-pressure natural gas pipeline and buildings is regulated by Korea gas safety (KGS) code. In this paper, The technical backgrounds for the revision of the KGS code related to the minimum separation distance was presented. A consequence-based approach was adopted to determine the minimum separation distance by a reasonable accident scenario, which was a jet fire caused by the rupture of one inch branch line attached the gas pipeline. Where, the higher thermal radiation flux threshold was selected for workers in industrial area than for people in non-industrial area, because the workers in industrial area were able to escape in a shorter time than the people in public. As result of consequence analysis for the accident scenario, we suggested the KGS code revision that the minimum separation distances between high-pressure natural gas pipeline installed above ground and buildings should be 30 meter in non-industrial area and 15 meter in industrial area. The revised code was accepted by the committee of the KGS code and now in effect.

  • 최근들어 심화되고있는 자재난과 인력수급난등은 작업을 원활치 못하게 하는 요인으로 작용하여 공기를 지연 시키고 있어 건설업계가 호황속에 불황을 맞고 있는 실정이다. 이에 따라 건설업계 스스로 자구책을 강구해야 한다는 여론이 높아지고 있어 신자재 개발 및 신공법 개발을 더욱더 서두르고 있다. 몇몇 건설업체들은 이미 자동화 공정 미 건식공법 등을 도입 실용 단계에 들어갔으며 시험단계 중인 업체들도 상당수를 차지해 조만간 걸설업계에도 신공화법의 바람이 불 것으로 관련인들은 내다보고 있다. (주)한양 기계부는 그동안 화장실 벽체 배관의 공장 조립 시공화 방안을 연구 검토한 결과 그 타당성이 인정되어 올해 초부터 이 방안을 본격적으로 시공에 착수했다. 이에 본지는 신공법 개발의 한 분야로 이 방안을 소개 한다.
