  • In the field of domestic tourism, tourism trend analysis of tourism consumers, both international tourists and domestic tourists, is essential not only for the Korean tourism market but also for local and governmental tourism policy makers. e will explore the keywords and sentiment analysis on social media to establish a marketing strategy plan and revitalize the domestic tourism industry through communication and information from tourism consumers. This study utilized TEXTOM 6.0 to analyze recent trends in Korean tourism. Data was collected from September 31, 2022, to August 31, 2023, using 'Korean tourism' and 'domestic tourism' as keywords, targeting blogs, cafes, and news provided by Naver, Daum, and Google. Through text mining, 100 key words and TF-IDF were extracted in order of frequency, and then CONCOR analysis and sentiment analysis were conducted. For Korean tourism keywords, words related to tourist destinations, travel companions and behaviors, tourism motivations and experiences, accommodation types, tourist information, and emotional connections ranked high. The results of the CONCOR analysis were categorized into five clusters related to tourist destinations, tourist information, tourist activities/experiences, tourism motivation/content, and inbound related. Finally, the sentiment analysis showed a high level of positive documents and vocabulary. This study analyzes the rapidly changing trends of Korean tourism through text mining on Korean tourism and is expected to provide meaningful data to promote domestic tourism not only for Koreans but also for foreigners visiting Korea.

  • This study was conducted to investigate the effects of dietary quercetin on growth performance, blood biochemical parameters, immunoglobulin, and blood antioxidant activity in broiler chickens. Three hundred twenty one-day old Ross broilers were divided 8 treatments (C(-), basal diet; C(+), basal diet with antibiotics; vitamin E 20 IU; vitamin E 200 IU; quercetin 20 ppm; quercetin 200 ppm; methoxylated quercetin 20 ppm; methoxylated quercetin 200 ppm) with 4 replicates and 10 birds per replicate. Birds were reared for 35 days and their feed intake and weight gain were measured weekly. At 35d, eight birds of average weight from each replicate were selected for blood collection and analysis. Weight gain of birds in the groups fed quercetin was higher when compare to NC but there was no significant difference. In the serum, creatinine, BUN and AST in quercetin groups significantly decreased compared to those of control (NC and PC) (P<0.05). The contents of IgA and IgM were significantly lower in quercetin groups than those of NC (P<0.05). SOD like activity and MDA content tended to decrease in quercetin groups, however, there was no significant difference among treatments. In conclusion, supplemental quercetin to poultry diet could be positive aspect on performance and blood metabolites. Optimum adding levels was more than 20 ppm.

  • This work was carried out to evaluate the feces and ileal digestibility of canola meal and wheat bran in ducks. Ninety Pekin ducks (6-week-old, average 3.4 kg) were divided into three treatments (6 replications/treatment, 5 birds/replication) by feedstuffs (basal diet, canola meal, and wheat bran) and were fed on these diets in individual metabolic cages for one week. After one week, the samples for analysis were collected from feces and ileum. On comparison of treatments and collected sites, the feces digestibility of basal diet was the highest among treatments on chemical compositions except crude protein and crude fat and ileal digestibility of canola meal was the lowest (P<0.01). On comparison of treatments, the digestibility of basal diet was higher and that of wheat bran was lower when compared to other treatments (P<0.05). The feces digestibility was lower than the ileal digestibility in crude protein (P<0.05) and crude fat (P<0.01). The digestibility of amino acid was the highest at feces of control group among treatments (P<0.01). No significant difference was detected in terms of digestibility of isoleucine, leucine and phenylalanine among essential amino acids, and alanine, glycine and tyrosine among non-essential amino acids between control and wheat bran, and wheat bran and canola meal. However amino acid digestibility was higher in control group when compared to canola meal group (P<0.05). Other amino acid digestibilities were not significantly differ by treatments. These results may provide the basic data on amino acid digestibility of ducks to evaluate feedstuffs and to formulate optimum diet for commercial Pekin duck.

  • This study investigated the effects of dietary supplementation of the fermented by products garlic and onion on growth performance, blood composition and cecal microflora in broiler chickens. A total four hundred eighty, day old broiler chickens (Ross) were randomly divided into four groups with four replicates of thirty birds each. The treatment groups were negative group (NC, antibiotic-free diet), positive group (PC, basal diet with 0.05% and 0.03% anticoccidials), fermented of onion by product 1.0% group (T1) and fermented of onion by product 1.0% group (T2). The body weight of broilers fed the diets containing fermented by products garlic was higher than the other treatments during overall period. No significant difference were observed on serum chemical composition and blood corpuscle. In the cecal microflira of broiler, the population of the Lactic acid bacteria was showed the higher in chicken fed diets supplemented with fermented of garlic group than other groups (P<0.05). These results suggest the possibility that fermented of garlic and onion by product could be used as the alternative of antibiotics growth promotor of broiler chickens.

  • This work was carried out to improve the performance and the carcass yield of Korea native duck (KND) according to crossbreeding KND and broiler duck (BD). Two hundred forty out of crossbred ducks were divided into 4 strains and selected as 120 ducks separated by sex, respectively. Crossbred ducks were native ducks (female)${\times}$native ducks (male), native ducks (female)${\times}$broiler ducks (male), broiler ducks (female)${\times}$native ducks (male), and broiler ducks (female)${\times}$broiler ducks(male) as A, B, C and D, respectively. Broiler duck diet was fed as experimental diet for 0~3 weeks (CP 22.0%, ME 2,900 kcal/kg) and 3~8 weeks (CP 18.0%, ME 3,000 kcal/kg). Body weight of male was high compared to female, and that of B and C was high compared to A and low compared to D at 3 and 8 week (P<0.05). Body weight gain of male was high compared to female at 3~8 weeks and 0~8 weeks, and it was shown as D>C>B>A on body weight gain (P<0.05). In case of feed intake, there was no difference between male and female, and B and C were high compared to A and low compared to D (P<0.05). Male feed requirement was high at 3~8 weeks, and there was significant difference between A and B, C and between B and D. Carcass yield of 4 strains was shown as 70.1%, 70.8%, 73.1% and 71.2%, respectively. Finally, Crossbreeding of KND and BD may improve the performance and the carcass yield of KND.

  • The chicken eye can discriminate light color, and different light wavelengths may affect reproduction ability. This study was carried out to identify effect of monochromatic light using light emitting diode (LED) in laying hens. Chickens were exposed to white light (WL), blue light (BL), yellow light (YL), green light (GL) and red light (RL) made by using LED as well as incandescent light (IL) (control). All light sources were equalized to a light intensity of 20 lux. The results indicated that the age of first egg laying and 50 % egg laying in laying hens treated under RL is significantly younger than under other lights (P<0.05). And the ovary weight of laying hens reared under RL is significantly heavier than under other at from 16 to 20 wks (P<0.05). The largest number of eggs production was produced in a group with treated with RL by 59 wks of age compared with any other group. The egg weight of YL was greater than other treatment groups from 26 to 45 wks (P<0.05). The egg shell from hens treated with RL was the strongest and thickest at 20 wk (P<0.05). These results suggest that the egg quality of laying hens reared in different spectrum of LED can be different and RL may enhance the laying performance.

  • The present experiment was carried out to compare performance, carcass characteristics and meat quality among three major meat-type duck strains in Korea. Two commercial duck (CD) strains, produced from parent stocks (PS) (Cherry Valley and Grimaud), and $F_1$ strains, self-produced by farmers, were used in an 8-week feeding experiment. Both feed conversion ratio and production index were significantly higher in Cherry Valley strain compared with the other two at the ends of 6 and 8 weeks (p<0.05). However, no differences were found in carcass characteristics and meat quality, with the exception of abdominal fat weight where Grimaud were higher than the others. Overall, the results of the current study show that Cherry Valley CD strain had higher performance among three strains tested.

  • This experiment was conducted to determine optimum dietary levels of dietary energy and protein for laying performance and egg quality in organic laying hens. In a $2{\times}3$ factorial arrangement, 360 Hy-Line pullets (21 wk of age) were randomly assigned to experimental diets with 2,800, 3,080, and 3,360 kcal of ME/kg of diet, each containing 16 and 18% CP, respectively. Each dietary treatment was replicated 4 times, and feed and water were provided ad libitum. Experimental birds were raised in floor and received 14h of light throughout 52 weeks of experimental period. The birds were observed for feed consumption, egg production, egg weight, egg mass, feed conversion ratio, Haugh unit, shell thickness, and shell color at 30, 50, and 70 wk of age. Egg production, egg weight, and egg mass were higher (P<0.05) in hens receiving diets with 2,800 kcal/kg of ME/kg of feed than those fed diets containing 3,080 and 3,360 kcal of ME/kg of diets. Eggshell breaking strengths were not significantly different among the dietary ME and CP concentrations. Eggshell thickness was higher (P<0.05) in hens receiving diets with 3,360 kcal of ME/kg of feed than those fed diets containing 2,800 and 3,080 kcal of ME/kg of diets at 50 and 70 week. With increasing in dietary energy levels, the concentrations of blood total cholesterol were also significantly increased. Overall, the laying hens fed organic diet of 2,800 kcal ME/kg and 16% CP showed superior egg production than those of other dietary regimens.
