  • The purpose of this study is to verify the effect of cellulase treatment on crease resistance of cotton. Cotton fabrics was treated with cellulase under different concentration at $50^{\circ}C$ for 40 min. Also to compare the effect of DMDHEU treatment, DMDHEU treatment was conducted before and after cellulase treatment, also with cellulase. Weight loss, crease resistance and tentile strength of each samples were measured and compared. Maximum weight loss showed at 1g/l con. with 40 min. treatment. Cellulase enzyme treatment was more effective than DMDHEU in the crease resistance and tensile strength. Crease resistant of cotton which treated under different condition with cellulase and DMDHEU showed in the order of cellulase+DMDHEU> cellulase> DMDHEU treatment. Also, tensile strength showed in the order of cellulase> cellulase+DMDHEU> DMDHEU. Among those treatment conditions, condition which treated with cellulase considered more effective to increase crease resistance while keeping tensile strength too.

  • Cotton and rayon fabrics were treated with BTCA an DMDHEU which are used as DP finishes, and their effects on physical properties and the drape of BTCA and DMDHEU treated fabrics were compared. The wrinkle recoverablity of cellulosic fabrics treated with DP finishes was improved. The CWRA of DMDHEU treated fabrics was more increased than that of BTCA treated fabrics, but the WWRA of BTCA treated fabrics was more increased than that of DMDHEU treated fabrics. The drape of fabrics treated with BTCA and DMDHEU were reduced, but the drape of DMDHEU treated fabrics was worse than one treated with BTCA. This is because BTCA and DMDHEU have the distinction of crosslink. The bending and shering properties of BTCA and DMDHEU treated cellulosic fabrics were changed.

  • Endovascular embolization technique using a steno is currently used to treat the wide neck aneurysm. Since intraaneurysmal flow characteristics affect thrombus formation and embolisation process. flow visualization technique incorporating photochromic dye was used to elucidate hemodynamic changes by stenting Inside the fusiform aneurysm models. Qualitative observation of flow field and measurement of wall shear rates were Performed at five aneurysm wall locations under pulsatile flow. Intraaneurysmal flow motion was reduced and sluggish vortical motion was maintained during late deceleration phase by stenting. Also wall shear rates were reduced and OSI's were increased in the stented model. These flow characteristics Provide hemodynamic environment favorable for thrombus formation and intimal hyperplasia. The results of this study show hemodynamic changes by stenting Promote thrombus formation and aneurysm embolisation.

  • There are attempts to utilize Hanji for apparel material, but, the reason that the strength and durability of Hanji decrease to a great extent in the wet condition, restricts the usability of Hanji. In order to improve the resistance against water, Hanji was treated with silicone type water repellent agents. The treatment was carried out by conventional pad-dry-cure method. The optimum treatment condition was obtained by varying the concentration of repellent agent, curing temperature and time. Water repellency was tested by spray rating method. Wet and dry tensile strength, tearing resistance and abrasion resistance were examined after the treatment. Flexural stiffness and wrinkle recovery angles of hanji were also measured. In result, the optimum condition of treatment was at resin concentration of 40g/l, catalyst concentration of 20g/l(half of resin concentration), curing temperature of 160$^{circ}C$, curing time of 120 sec. Flexural stiffness of Hanji was hardly increased and wrinkle recovery angle of Hanji was improved a little by resin treatment. After the treatment, in dry condition, tensile strength and tearing resistance were little changed but abrasion resistance was improved. In wet condition, tensile strength, tearing strength and abrasion resistance were improved.

  • This studies have been carried out for several years to develop more better urea resin treating process on silk textiles which may be better crease resist without harming on the textile touch feeling. Specially, this paper payed attention to minimize the necessary formaldehyde content to be condensed with urea and created a new processing method which is named as Homo Metalic Urea Resin found to be better than urea resin process. The obtained results are as followings. 1. The prepared urea resin was found to be smell-less because of minimized formaldehyde content is the least than any other reports carried out before than this. 2. A new type of urea resin has been created by using uric 2incchloride and formaldehyde which is named as Homo Metalic Urea Resin. This processing method may carry both weighing process and urea resin process. 3. Crease resistance, stiffness and bulkiness were increased through such resin treats. Homo metalic urea resin process showed better results than the urea resin process. 4. Spun silk or low twisted silk have shown better crease resistance than raw silk or high twisted silk upon the both resin treats. 5. Both treat methods were found to be good economical feasibility upon the silk finishing process. 6. Tenacity and elongation of silk fibers were found to decrease some what because of grafting or weighing results. 7. Wooly silk has been also created with specific urea resin process. Such silk could be obtained by formaldehyde gas treat with urea soaken silk in a chamber, which induced to form scale on the surface of silk fibers.

  • Variation of wood rays within a growth ring and along axial direction in Pinus koraiensis and Larix kaempferi, which are important Korean commercial softwoods, was examined to get some useful information for their effective utilization. Ray height in cell number and ray number per $0.25mm^2$ in tangential section were investigated by optical microscopy. The average heights of uniseriate rays in Pinus koraiensis and Larix kaempferi were 6.3 and 9.1 cells, respectively. The average numbers of uniseriate rays per $0.25mm^2$ in Pinus koraiensis and Larix kaempferi were 6.5 and 7.5, respectively. The average heights of fusiform rays were about 20 cells but were not significantly different in both species. From earlywood to latewood within a growth ring, the heights of uniseriate and fusiform rays decreased but their numbers remained almost constant. Along axial direction, the heights of uniseriate rays in both species increased with the increase of stem height, and the numbers of uniseriate rays per $0.25mm^2$ in Pinus koraiensis were nearly constant from 0.2 m to 5.2 m but increased up to 19.2 m beyond 5.2 m. However, a constant pattern in the numbers of uniseriate rays was not observed in Larix kaempferi. The heights of fusiform rays in both species were the highest in middle part of stems but were the lowest in base and top of trees. In conclusion, the ray variation pattern was comparatively clear within a growth ring but not clear along axial direction.
