  • To build up the green roofs, it must not adverse effect to durability and structural safety. That is conducted by safety system which consist of waterproofing to form basically, root barrier to protect the waterproofing. The reason why root barrier form is to protect the penetration force of root growth and the root could penetrate concrete surface, move inward so far. It may cause shorten the life span on concrete structure. For this problem, government constantly demand the solution to form the root barrier for waterproofing and concrete structure before the building is service. However, the technical action is not fully prepared. Therefore, in this study, we would like to suggest the workability and suitability of the copper plate to solve not only the side of waterproofing but also root barrier for green roof system and exhibit the mechanism for root penetration resistance and corrosion resistance.

  • In this research, in order to prevent spread of vertical flame from building exterior fire, A head was developed. The performance standards of Head development complied with NFPA 80A 7.7.4.3 (Recommended Practice for Protection of Buildings Exterior Fire Exposures) and the standards are applied to the discharge pressure was 0.05 MPa and the discharge flow rate was 60 l/min. The head was developed about applied to 0.05 MPa and 65 l/min through the process of the experiment of five times, it is processed from drencher head and used in domestic intended use and structure are quite different. An appropriate distances between the head and the head proved as the experimental results to within 3 m~5 m and it selectively applied to the design is being considered depending on the fire hazard strength.

  • Since the basement building like the communication hole and etc. is built under the ground where it is pressed by the water, the leakage happens due to the dried-shrinking crack, the sinking crack, the creation of the work-joint of the building and etc. caused by the character of the material and construction way of the reinforced concrete building. Especially, a lot of repair for the leakage cannot help but being taken in temporary way without any noticeable countermeasure. Therefore, this kind of repair is socially criticized many times that this is defective construction even if this costs a lot. The fundamental reason of the above mentioned symptoms can be found in the creation of the work-joint caused by the character of the concrete building, the limitation of the physical performance of the existing water-proof and repair material, the limitation of the construction, the limitation of the physical sustaining performance of the concrete building, the limitation(heat-injury, deterioration) of the constancy of the durability caused by aging and etc. Therefore, in this study, we would like to present the better understanding on the water-proof seal relating to the application at the spot and its test evaluation related data since the necessity of the establishment of the quality control standard and the performance testing way on the relevant water-proof seal is rising a lot to regulate the water-proof technology and the leakage repair technology in accordance with the growth of the demand on the facility.

  • The cigarette holds more than 10 percents of the entire fire accidents despite the number of smokers rapidly decreases every year. The purpose of this study is to examine the ignition characteristics of cigarette by experimentation. This study analyzed the cases of fires inferred that they were caused by cigarette in Incheon during 2006. As the representative ignition materials, corrugated board, gasoline, lacquer thinner, tarpaulin, flexible PVC sheet, and poly ethylene were tested. In this experimentation, the corrugated board was ignited by cigarette. However gasoline, lacquer thinner, tarpaulin, flexible PVC sheet, and poly ethylene were seldom ignited. Meanwhile most fire investigators have argued that oils and tents were ignited by cigarette, but this study experimentally proved that such an argument might be ungrounded.

  • SBR, polyurethane, acryl and epoxy latex were seperately mixed with ethylene-vinylacetate emulsion(EVA) in the range of $0{\sim}50%$ (wt.% ). For the mixtures, the various physical properties were examined. The viscosity of mixtures was mainly influenced by compatability with EVA emulsion, was decreased within 20% (wt.% ) of latex content, and showed the similar values over 20% (wt.% ) of latex content. The workable time of cement mixtures was mainly depended on the reactivity with cement. The formation of film could be only within $30{\sim}40$ minutes from mixing cement. The tack-free time of mixtures was influenced by the sorts of resin and the quantity of cement. The slow order of tack-free time was epoxy mixtures>SBR mixtures>urethane mixtures>acryl mixtures. The pencil hardness of mixtures was $4B{\sim}2H$, represented higher value in cement mixtures than in emulsion state.

  • This technology employs a method of forming a single-ply PLUS waterproofing sheet layer comprised of applying a single-ply synthetic polymer layer on a vibrating structure (steel frame, RC) or an inclined surface by using a T joint lap-filling coil and an embedded metal coated sheet. The T - joint reinforcing lap-filling coil was used to block the ingress channel of the rainwater by applying the material in the vulnerable area where the three sides of the waterproof sheet overlapped. Conventional waterproofing techniques have a problem in that the waterproof sheet is pierced because the end portion of the waterproof sheet applied to the vertical portion is fixed by a nail, and the sealant applied to the end portion of the sheet cannot easily secure long-term waterproof durability due to the influence of the external environment. Therefore, the developed technology secured the waterproof durability against the vertical part by using the embedded metal sheet. In addition, automatic hot-air fusing is used to improve the quality of waterproof construction and point fixation method using fixed hardware. This is a technology that is not significantly restricted in the high degradation level regions of domestic waterproof construction environments in Korea such as low-temperature environment, wet floor.

  • In this study, a revised oil leakage evaluation method for assessing oil leakage stability of asphalt mastics used in upper slabs of below-grade residential parking lots was developed and presented. In order to verify the reliability and reproducibility of leakage results, the parameters the revised evaluation was carried out for three products with actual leakage history, and it was confirmed the leaks could be reproduced whereas the existing methods could not. To quantitatively verify the reproducibility, the filler content of the leaked samples was derived and the maximum filler content was 64% lower than that of the normal sample. The same results was found with the samples from the actual leakage site, thus verifying the reliability of the revised evaluation method.

  • This study investigated fabrics, washing and cares, design, pattern, subsidiary materials, and sewing methods with a focus on the functional outers using moisture-permeable waterproof fabric as a shell; in addition, each element was analyzed for differences depending on fabric type. The characteristics of 34 outers were investigated through labels, online product introductions, visual inspection, observations from two experts with more than 30 years experience and wear tests. Moisture-permeable waterproof fabrics used for the outer were classified into two types; in addition, the shell of the high-density fabric and the 2 & 3-layer fabrics had different characteristics. Various fabrics, detailed designs, and three-dimensional patterns suitable for each part of the human body were used to improve functionality. In addition, various subsidiary materials and sewing methods were used to form an organic relationship. The same washing and cares, patterns and subsidiary materials were used regardless of fabric type; however, the fabric type influenced the detailed design and sewing. The outers with high-density fabric had a loose fit, short placket, e-banded cuffs, lock-stitch, and lock-stitch+binding. However, the outer with 2 & 3 layer fabric had a slim fit, hood width adjustment, zippered pockets, cuffs with tab, seamless adhesive sewing such as laminating, lock-stitch+ seam-sealing, and welding.

Oil Leakage Characteristics of Asphalt Mastic Waterproofing Membrane Coating According to Particle Size and Content of Organic/Mineral Extender (유·무기질 체질안료 입도 및 함량에 따른 아스팔트 매스틱 도막방수재의 누유 특성)

  • In this study, the purpose of this study was to quantitatively grasp the specific correlation between the raw material and the occurrence of leakage by analyzing the characteristics of leakage by adjusting the type and content of the raw material constituting the asphalt mastic coating waterproofing material. To this end, two raw materials, CA (calcium carbonate) and ASE (anti-sedimentation), which are organic and mineral extender for asphalt mastic waterproofing membrane coating, were selected. viscosity and oil leakage stability (20 ℃, 40 ℃) was evaluated. As a result of the evaluation, the oil leakage stability and viscosity were inversely proportional to the CA average particle size, and it was quantitatively proven that a correlation in proportion to the ASE content was established. The results of this study are expected to be used as core data for basic mixing design in the future mixing studies to improve leakage of asphalt mastic waterproofing membrane coating.

  • Recently, advanced system for water and wastewater treatment is introduced and operated because of water pollution and etc. One of this System makes use of O3(Ozone) for water and wastewater treatment. In airtight concrete structure, waterproofing phase as well as water are affected by strong oxidative O3 in the long-term. For this reason, material stability against O3 is examined. Consequently, the purpose of this study is to find out material stability an object of epoxy resin by way of accelerated O3 testing.
