Digital broadcasting areas are leading information technology and having been strengthen the competitiveness of industries. In this paper, we developed HSS(Home Stream Station) for recording and transmitting digital broadcasting on digital TV without additional devices, which is based on cable TV network at home. The HSS can record a broadcasting program selected by user while digital TV shows the other channel. User can watch the program stored on the HSS at any time and any digital TV in the home. LAN interface of the HSS was also developed for supplying high quality digital broadcasting-contents through home network using IP-STB(Set Top Box).

The traditional broadcasting service has advanced into a smart media service with the help of communication network. in In the smart media ecosystem, a variety of innovative media services have been provided by new players. However, terrestrial broadcasting service companies seem to lag comparatively behind new players in spite of their powerful contents production capacity and stable terrestrial media delivery networks. In this paper, we design a proposed media platform based on a set-to-box (STB) with various new function for terrestrial ultra-high definition(UHD) broadcasting service. Also we suggest specific transmission network architecture and platform components for UHD broadcasting service. The proposed media platform is expected to increase the number of direct home reception and to enhance the right of the free-viewers which is one of the natural mission of terrestrial broadcasting company. Also it can provide some profit model of UHD terrestrial broadcasting service with new value-added services.

This study investigated the attributes of the popular programs by various broadcasting related platforms(on-air, VOD, SNS) and the relationship between the outcomes of these platforms in order to get the implications of broadcasting contents distribution strategy in multi-platform era. First, the study found that drama programs of territorial broadcasting showed the most high performance in on-air platform while comedy entertainment programs got the outstanding achievement in VOD platform. Second, although it had the low ratings in on-air platform, the program could be highly probable to get a great deal of VOD hits if it had attracted the younger audience. Knowledge programs showed the similar outcome between on-air and VOD platforms. Third, the study found that the factor which had a significant influence on VOD performance was the amount of buzz in SNS. These results suggest that broadcasting content distribution strategy in multi-platform era needs the understanding of the segmented target audiences of content and the analysis of trait of each platform.

This paper presents the designing scheme of the duplexer for ground station using rectangular waveguide. The duplexer consists of 2-channel bandpass filters having asymmetrical inductive window and inductive post obstacles, coupled with H-plane Apertured-coupled junction, and operating in the frequency ranges of 14.5∼14.8GHz and 11.7∼12.0 GHz which are the DBS up/downlink for the domestic Ku-band ground station.

멀티미디어 데이터는 크기가 크고 실시간성의 특징을 가지고 있다. 특히 HDTV 서버는 많은 수의 비디오를 저장하기 위해서 대용량의 저장 능력이 필요하며 동시에 많은 수의 사용자를 지워하기 위해서 높은 전송율을 보장하여야 한다. 따라서 HDTV 서버는 확장성 있는 하드웨어 구조를 가져야 하고 데이터를 효과적으로 저장 관리할 수 있는 소프트웨어가 지원되어야 한다. 본 논문에서는 HDTV의 비디오 데이터를 저장 관리하기 위한 확장성 있는 HDTV 저장 서버 구조, 고성능 입출력시스템에서 기본적으로 사용하는 데이터 분할 방법, 데이터 배치 방법, 캐싱 정책, admission control 방법과 성능 분석에 대한 내용을 기술한다.

정부가‘일본문화 4차 개방계획’에 따라 올 1월로 검토해온 극장용 애니메이션 분야의 전면개방을 2006년으로 2년간 유예했다. 이에 따라 애니메이션 업계는 일단‘급한 불은 껐다’는 안도의 한숨을 내쉬지만 여전히 국산 애니메이션의 자생력을 기르기 위한 제도적 지원방안이 결여돼 있다는데 실망감을 내비치고 있다. 더욱이 극장용 애니메이션 개방이 보류됐다고 해도‘케이블TV · 위성 방송 중심으로 방송 프로그램 개방폭 확대’를 골자로 한 일본문화 4차 개방계획이 발표됨에 따라 각 방송사들은 각종 해외작품을 자사 방송사에 편성하려는데 전력을 기울이고 있어 국내 애니메이션은 설자리를 잃어가고 있는 실정이다. 이번 조치가 과연 국내 애니메이션 업계를 활성화시킬 수 있는 기회로 작용할지 최근 국내 애니메이션 업계의 현주소를 진단해본다.

본 논문에서는 다중 입출력 안테나 OFDM 통신시스템에서 신뢰할 만한 데이터 신호 사용하는 한 연판정 지향 채널 추정 기법을 제안한다. 기존 방식에서는 주어진 기준 신호만을 이용하여 채널을 추정하는 반면에 제안하는 기법은 기준 신호를 포함하여 신뢰할 만한 데이터 신호를 동시에 사용하여 채널을 추정한다. 모의실험을 통해 제안하는 기법이 기존 채널 추정에 비해 성능이 우수함을 확인할 수 있다.

영상, 비디오 정보로부터 3D 휴먼 모델을 생성하고 실제 사람 같이 움직이게 변형하는 기술은 다가오는 메타버스 시대의 핵심 기술이며, 이와 같은 기술이 갖는 잠재적인 파급력 때문에 많은 글로벌 IT 기업에서 앞다투어 관련 기술에 대한 투자를 진행하고 있다. 본 기고문에서는 지난 10년간 휴먼 모델링 기술이 어떻게 발전되어 왔는지 살펴보고 현재 기술의 특징 및 한계점과 함께 앞으로의 기술 전망에 대해 살펴본다.

본 논문에서는 High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC)을 하드웨어로 구현하기 위해서 파이프라인 방식을 인-루프 필터에 새롭게 도입된 기술인 Sample Adaptive Offset (SAO)에 적용하여 병렬화 처리하는 방법을 제안한다. 현재 HEVC 에서 SAO 의 입출력이 프레임단위로 구현되어 있는데, 이를 파이프라인 방식의 하드웨어 설계시에는 Largest Coding Unit(LCU)단위로 입출력이 가능하도록 수정해야 한다. SAO 에서 사용하는 두 가지 방식으로 Edge Offset(EO)과 Band Offset(BO)모드가 있으며, 이 중 EO 모드가 주변 화소값을 이용하므로 주변 화소값 정보가 없는 LCU 경계에 위치한 화소들을 버퍼에 저장한 뒤, 다음 LCU 블록의 입력과 함께 SAO 를 수행한다. 또한, SAO 앞 단의 인-루프 필터 기술인 디블록킹 필터(Deblocking Filter)에서도 LCU 단위로 입출력이 수행되므로 디블록킹 필터에서 저장하는 버퍼를 고려하면, SAO 입력에서 사용가능한 데이터는 LCU 가 천이된 형태가 된다. 따라서 SAO 입력의 천이된 형태와 버퍼 사용에 따라 총 9 가지 타입을 갖게 되며, 이 중 경계에 위치한 블록을 제외한 타입들의 경우 서로 다른 정보를 가진 SAO 를 4 번 수행해야 한다. 이러한 점을 반영한 파이프라인 방식을 SAO 에 적용하여 하드웨어에 적합한 구조를 구현할 수 있다.
