  • In this paper, expanded lowest operating frequency by adopting circular slot on ground of balun and balance improved balance performances by stacking dielectric layer balun is proposed. Bandwidth of proposed balun is 1~7 GHz, and electrical length is $0.05{\lambda}$ at 1 GHz. In order to check performances of the proposed balun, simple dipole is integrated with the balun and radiation pattern of dipole is measured.

  • The weight loss for the mixture (spun silk/PET) was tested to investigate the effects of weight loss accelerator on the degumming and weight loss. The degumming loss of spun silk was decreased while the wigth loss of polyester(PET) was increased depending on the increased of weight loss accelerator concentration. The proper degumming of spun silk was obtained and simultaneously the weight loss of PET was high for the spun silk/PET "A" and "B" type. The proper degumming of spun silk was obtained but the weight of PET was loss for the spun silk/PET "D" and "E" type. The degumming curve in spun silk part was showed the typical degumming curve but the weight loss of PET was increased depending on the increased of treatment time in the weight loss for the fabric composed of spun silk/PET.or the fabric composed of spun silk/PET.

  • In this paper, we studied the application of low pressure ultra-violet (UV) lamps for the development of an energy saving ship's ballast water treat (BWT) device. We proposed the optimal arrangement of UV lamps by analyzing the energy radiated from medium- and low-pressure UV lamps. Based on the experimental results, we manufactured a disinfection chamber which is composed of low-pressure UV lamps. The rated power and the treatment capacity of the chamber are 216 [W] and 10 [$m^3$/h], respectively. This can replace a disinfection chamber treated by two 2 [kW] medium pressure lamps. The disinfection performance, however the power consumption is about one-eighteen compare to the medium pressure UV lamp, is over 94 [%] for bacteria, 93 [%] for zooplankton, and 94 [%] for phytoplankton. Therefore, it would be possible to develop an energy saving BWT device in a low capacity below 100 [$m^3$/h].

  • The radio-equilibrium conditions of uranium and thorium in the Okcheon black shales and monazites have been studied. As the results. a radiometric method based on the measurements of gamma ray activity has been suggested for the simple analysis of many samples in the process of the prospecting and the grading of uranium and thorium minerals.

  • 고압 수은등의 전기적 특성을 예측하기 위한 컴퓨터 프로그램을 작성하였다. 즉 고압기체방전에서 성립되는 단위체적당 에너지 평형식과 입자의 밀도에 대한 연속방정식을 방전관의 반경과 시간에 대하여 풀어서 전류값을 예측하였다. 프로그램의 수행결과, 방전광에 입력된 에너지는 방사에너지로 가장 크게 손실되며, 전도손실은 시간에 무관하게 거의 일정한 것으로 나타났다. 또한 비교적 길이가 짧은 방전관의 특성을 예측하기 위하여 음극강하를 고려하여 산정한 길이를 추정하는 방법을 개발하였다.

  • In order to predict the dynamic behaviors of uranium and cobalt in a fixed bed at various influent pH values of liquid waste, the adsorption system is regarded as a multi-component adsorption between each ionic species in the solution. Langmuir isotherm parameters of each species were extracted by incorporating equilibrium data with the solution chemistry of the uranium and cobalt using IAST. Prediction results were in good agreement with the experimental data, except for a high concentration and pH. Although there was some limitations in predicting the cobalt adsorption, this method may be useful in analyzing a complex adsorption system where various kinds of ionic species exist in a solution.

Radionuclides Transport from the Hypothetical Disposal Facility in the KURT Field Condition on the Time Domain (KURT 부지 환경에 위치한 가상의 처분 시설에서 누출되는 방사성 핵종의 이동을 Time Domain에서 해석하는 방법에 관한 연구)

  • Based on the data observed and analyzed on a groundwater flow system in the KURT (KAERI Underground Research Tunnel) site, the transport of radionuclides, which were assumed to be released at the supposed position, was calculated on the time-domain. A groundwater pathway from the release position to the surface was identified by simulating the groundwater flow model with the hydrogeological characteristics measured from the field tests in the KURT site. The elapsed time when the radionuclides moved through the pathway is evaluated using TDRW (Time Domain Random Walk) method for simulating the transport on the time-domain. Some retention mechanisms, such as radioactive decay, equilibrium sorption, and matrix diffusion, as well as the advection-dispersion were selected as the factors to influence on the elapsed time. From the simulation results, the effects of the sorption and matrix diffusion, determined by the properties of the radionuclides and underground media, on the transport of the radionuclides were analyzed and a decay chain of the radionuclides was also examined. The radionuclide ratio of the mass discharge into the surface environment to the mass released from the supposed repository did not exceed $10^{-3}$, and it decreased when the matrix diffusion were considered. The method used in this study could be used in preparing the data on radionuclide transport for a safety assessment of a geological disposal facility because the method could evaluate the travel time of the radionuclides considering the transport retention mechanism.

  • 오늘날 에너지 공급(供給)을 위한 새로운 해결책(解決策)의 하나로서 등장(登場)한 원자력발전소(原子力發電所), 재래(在來)의 X선(線) 진료(診療) 이외(以外)에 의학계(醫學界)에 도입(導入)된 방사선원(放射線源), 그리고 각종(各種) 전자생산품(電子生産品) 등(等)의 증가현상(增加現象)은 방사선(放射線) 방어(防禦) 문제(問題)와 관련(關聯)하여 보건의학분야(保健醫學分野)에서 종사(從事)하는 사람들에게 지대(至大)한 관심(關心)거리가 되고있다. 그래서, 우선(于先) 방사선(放射線)에 관(關)한 사항(事項)중에서 가장 기초(基礎)가되는 방사선량계측(放射線量計測)에 있어서 그 양(量)과 단위(單位) 문제(問題)가 체계적(體系的)으로 서술(敍述)되었다. 즉(卽) 방사선(放射線)이 인체(人體)에 끼칠 수 있는 해(害)로운 영향(影響)에 그 주안점(主眼點)을 두어 조사선량(照射線量), 흡수선량(吸收線量), 선량당량(線量當量), 그리고 그들의 관계(關係) 및 방사능등(放射能等)에 관(關)하여 토론(討論)되었다. 특(特)히 조사선량률(放射線量率), X는 비(比)감마선선상수(線常數), ($\Gamma$)를 포함(包含)하는 함수(函數)로 표현(表現)되었고, 끝으로 인체(人體) 내부(內部)에 축적(蓄積)된 방사능(放射能)으로부터의 영향(影響)에 의(依)한 이른바 생물학적효과(生物學的效果) (Somatic or Genetic Effects)와 관련(關聯)되는 내부흡수선량율(內部吸收線量率)은 평형흡수선량상수(平衡吸收線量常數)($\Delta_i$)와 흡수율($F_i$)를 포함(包含)하는 수학적(數學的) 모델로 소개(紹介)되었다. 한편 방사능(放射能)은 방사선원(放射線源) 물질(物質)의 자연붕괴율(自然崩壞率)이므로 다른 방사선량(放射線量)들 즉(卽) 조사선량(照射線量), 흡수선량(吸收線量)그리고 선량당량(線量當量)과는 별도(別途)로 취급(取扱)하였음을 부언(附言)한다.
