C-T (high speed advantage, GE,US), RTP System (3D RTP system, prowess, US), III.

Purpose : We evaluated the quality of life satisfaction of patients with radiation therapy while maintaining the set-up line. Materials and Methods : We retrospectively reviewed 60 patients who visited our clinic in January, 2018. The most common complaint was the inconvenience of not being able to wash during treatment (64 %), and a surgical tape was placed on the Set-up Line to help patients wash during the treatment period. A total of 50 patients who underwent surgical tape were evaluated on a 5-point scale (1 point was very unsatisfactory, 2 points were unsatisfactory, 3 points were average, 4 points were satisfied, 5 points were very satisfied). Forty patients out of 50 responded to the first treatment, and 10 patients underwent treatment. Results : In the first survey, 68 % of the patients and 32 % of the males were aged 34 %, 50~60 % and 38 %, respectively. Treatment areas were breast (57 %), chest (13 %), pelvis (10 %). The results of the second questionnaire after applying the surgical tape showed that 25 of the 40 patients and 15 of the male patients were treated. The treatment area was 22 breast and 18 pelvic areas. In the satisfaction of the 5-point scale, 5 to 15 points were satisfied with 1-3 points, and 4-5 points with 35 points (1 point 2 points, 2 points 2 points, 3 point 1 points, 4 point points 17 point points, % And 43 %, respectively. The results of the questionnaire survey of patients who were applied during the treatment showed that 9 out of 10 women and 1 male were treated. The treatment area was 8 breast and 2 pelvic areas. One point was satisfied with one point, and five points with nine points were satisfied with 90 %. Conclusions : The importance of improving the quality of life of patients with cancer is also important. After applying the surgical tape, 88 % of the patients who started the treatment and 90 % of the patients who applied during the treatment were satisfied. Particularly, patients who applied during treatment showed higher satisfaction. If this is not possible for all patients, selective application to patients with discomfort will be helpful in improving the quality of life of cancer patients.
This study is to investigate the satisfaction rate and relative factors from the students majored in Radiology, Clinical Pathology and Physical Therapy, which can provide basic knowledge of satisfaction and guide the university life and further careers. The survey was performed with respect to 107 students of Radiology, 97 of Clinical Pathology and 89 of Physical Therapy at three-year or four-year colleges(universities) located in Busan and Gyeongsangnam-do. The results show that the satisfaction rate through whole majors was $3.40{\pm}0.57$ point. The scores of each major are: $3.38{\pm}0.62$ for Radiology, $3.37{\pm}0.56$ for Clinical Pathology, and $3.45{\pm}0.50$ for Physical Therapy. The score of social status was highest and the environment of major was the lowest. The satisfaction of three-year colleges was higher than that of four-year universities. Academic system, social status and adaptation to major affected satisfaction on major. In addition job outlook affected on all majors. Thus, we propose that every major must be equipped with specialized environment different from general colleges (universities), and provide environment where students can cause self-motivation. In addition, we found the special way to improve social status and satisfaction by using career guidance, offering career information and performing university-industry collaborations. Especially, it is important to improve the satisfaction on major of students at four-year universities.
This study aims to provide basic data to reduce the incidence of radiation dermatitis and improve patient satisfaction by investigating the management status and satisfaction level of radiation dermatitis in patients undergoing radiation therapy. From October 28, 2022, to April 4, 2023, a survey was conducted on 137 breast cancer patients who received radiation therapy at G Hospital in Busan. The Radiation Therapy Oncology Group (RTOG) cutaneous acute radiotherapy toxicity score was used as the standard for measuring skin reactions, and the association between cancer stage and RTOG was analyzed. SPSS program (ver. 18.0) was used for statistical analysis. The frequency of radiation dermatitis occurrence was relatively low, with 73% in the RTOG 0-1 group and 27% in the 2-3 group. Patient satisfaction after radiation therapy varied significantly depending on the RTOG group, with lower levels of dermatitis resulting in higher satisfaction and higher levels resulting in dissatisfaction (p=0.001). Although there was no statistically significant difference in RTOG group and skin satisfaction depending on the frequency of aloe mist use (p=0.065), the group that used it 1-2 times a day (69.3%) showed a higher satisfaction level. The perceived effects of aloe mist use were statistically significant for decreasing heat sensation (p=0.001), pain (p=0.033), itching (p=0.001), and psychological stability (p=0.027), especially in the higher RTOG groups. Additionally, as cancer stage increased, the severity of radiation dermatitis also increased, which was statistically significant (p=0.001). In conclusion, radiation dermatitis is the most common side effect of radiation therapy, and it can appear in various forms depending on individual skin sensitivity and external factors during treatment. Adequate education before treatment and the use of MD Cream and aloe vera mist are recommended to reduce the incidence and manage radiation dermatitis effectively.
Brachytherapy is a treatment in which radioactive isotopes are placed inside the body to intensively irradiate the tumor with radiation. Because brachytherapy uses a radioisotope source with a high dose rate, it is very important to know the exact location and dose of the source. However, in clinical practice, it is evaluated inaccurately with the naked eye through rulers and autoradiographs. Therefore, in this study, a dosimeter that can be used for brachytherapy was developed using a lead(II) iodide (PbI2) material, and the applicability was evaluated by analyzing the reproducibility, linearity, and PID items. As a result of reproducibility evaluation, the RSD value was 1.41%, satisfying the evaluation criteria of 1.5%. As a result of the linearity evaluation, the R2 value was 0.9993, which satisfies the evaluation criterion of 0.9990. As a result of PID evaluation, it showed only a difference of 0.06 cm compared with the theoretical value of the inverse square law of distance at the 50% dose reduction point. The dosimeter manufactured in this experiment shows results that satisfy the standard in all evaluations, so it is judged that the possibility of applying the dosimeter in the radiation brachytherapy area is sufficient.
Radiotherapy, as a major 3 standard treatment for cancer, traditionally it has been useful treatment that aim of curative or palliative setting. In addition to some proliferative or inflammatory benign disease are also included in field of radiotherapy. Unlike cancer, in the case of benign disease, it shows good treatment result from usage of some medication, conservative management or surgery. But if fail of these treatment or impossible, low dose radiotherapy is use adjuvant or replacement treatment so that there are no harmful side effect result in safety and easy management for reduce pain or recurrence. Recently, the technical advances in radiotherapy that have been achieved make preservation of normal tissue and the clinical application of high precision radiotherapy focus to selective lesions is possible, and it makes useful treatment in senile patients especially.
In this paper, we compared the Radiation treatment plan of rectal cancer on 3D-conformal Radiation Therapy, Tomotherapy and Linac Based IMRT using treatment planning system and to find the optimal treatment technique. The results of the comparison of treatments are as follows. In tumor tissue absorption dose more than 95% of the dose prescription dose and normal tissues(bladder, small bowel, fumer bone head) was NOT Normal tissue complication rate(V40, V30, V20, V10) but, The most effective treatment(dose distribution) for the three treatments was tomotherapy based IMRT. The worst was 3D-CRT. If this study is applied to patients under their health status and physical environment, patient's prognosis and quality of life will improve.
Authors performed a stereotactic radiosurgery with multiple noncoplanar convergent photon beams of linear accelerator (NELAC-1018 18 MeV, NEC) using a specially designed Yeungnam localization device for two patients with recurrent glioblastoma multiforme. One patient had 2 cm sized and the other 4 cm sized mass on the CT images. After single session of treatment with 15 and 20 Gy, headache was improved in a few days after radiosurgery with no remarkable untoward reactions. Our experience with these two patients were encouraging and we found that our localization device, which is easily adjustable and inexpensive, could be a valuable tool for stereotactic radiosurgery particularly in the treatment of recurrent brain tumor.
Over the decades, the treatment of the esophageal cancer has been debated. Multimodal therapy is a important keystone in advanced esophageal cancer. Neoadjuvant chemoradiation therapy is now known to provide advantages for treating stage II and stage III esophageal squamous cell cancer and can also be considered for the esophageal adenocarcinoma. Definitive chemoradiation therapy results in long-term survival compared with surgery alone. This review aims to provide recent consensus recommendations based on the data and literatures.

The purpose of this study would like to investigate the effect of major satisfaction on the career decision commitment for students in department of radiological science. Using the structured questionnaire we perform the self-report survey for 218 students. As a result, the degree of major satisfaction for students is found to be mid-range, and the degree of career decision commitment for ones is lowest in the first graders and the highest in the fourth graders. A notable point is that the degree of major satisfaction seems to have a significant influence on career decision commitment. Especially, it was found that major of pride is the most influential factor in career decision commitment. From this study, finally, it seems that a method to improve the career decision commitment is needed because the degree of career decision commitment of students is assessed to be fairly lowered at a level of non-commitment.
