Performance Improvement of LVQ Network for Pattern Classification (패턴 분류를 위한 LVQ 네트워크의 성능 개선)

  • In this paper, we propose a learning method of the performance improvement of the LVQ network using the radios of the hypersphere with the n-dimensional input vectors. The proposed method determines the reference vectors using the radius of the hypersphere include n+1 set of input vectors in the same class. In order to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method, we performed experiments on the Fisher's IRIS data. The experimental results showed that the proposed method improves considerably on the performance of the conventional LVQ network.

  • Signet ring cell carcinoma (SRCC) of the lung is a rare variant of pulmonary adenocarcinoma. Because the majority of SRCCs in the lung are metastatic tumors from stomach, colon, or breast. The differential diagnosis of primary SRCC from metastatic SRCC is important but may be problematic. Recently, immunohistochemical studies are known to be valuable in determining primary sites of SRCC. Herein, we present a case of primary signet ring cell carcinoma of the lung in a 67-year-old man. Even though radiographic findings of our case were more suggestive of metastatic orgin of SRCC in the lung, we could finally conclude that lung was the primary site of SRCC with the help of immunohistochemical studies (positive TTF-1 and CK7, and negative CK 20) and other diagnostic work up.

  • 입력영상의 Hough 변환(Hough Transform; HT) 영상으로부터 입력영상인 원호의 중심각의 크기, 반지름의 길이 및 양 끝점의 위치 정보를 구하는 방법을 제안하였다. HT 영역에서 포락선의 정보로부터 원호영상의 외접사각형의 가로 및 세로 길이와 회전 각도를 구한 다음 이로부터 원호영상 정보를 계산하였다.

  • 최근 구조물과 지반간의 상호작용이 원자력 발전시설, 해상구조물, 기계기초 등에 대한 내진설계시 매우 중요하다는 것이 일반화되고 있다. 그러나 지금까지 구조물 내진설계시 이러한 구조물이나 지반의 특성이 무시됐었다. 내진설계상 구조물 밑에 있는 지반에 의한 세가지 주된 영향은 Soil Amplification, Kinematic Interaction과 Inertial Interaction이다. 이 논문에서는 반지하구조물 내진설계시 필요한 지반거동을 Soil Amplification과 Kinematic Interaction을 고려하여 구하였으며, 1971년 San Fernando 지진기록으로부터 그 특성을 실제적으로 입증하였다.

  • 최근 다양한 모바일 기기를 통한 슈팅 게임이 등장하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 배경을 상하로 움직이고 음악을 포함하여 물방울 객체를 피하는 게임을 개발하고자 한다. 먼저 물체 충돌을 판정하기 위하여 두 객체의 중심점과 반지름을 이용하여 빠르게 충돌을 판정하는 방법을 이용하였으며 물체를 피하면 점수를 제공하고 또한 난이도를 제공함으로써 게임의 흥미를 부과하였다.

Low Complexity LSD Scheme for Joint Iterative MIMO Detection (반복 MIMO 검출을 위한 저 복잡도 LSD 기법)

  • This paper proposes a complexity reduced list sphere decoding (LSD) scheme for joint iterative soft detection scheme for coded MIMO system. The conventional LSD scheme is based on searching the candidates with a fixed radius. However, once the candidate list is full, it is highly probable that the radius can be reduced. By reducing the radius, the complexity can be also reduced. We propose a simple and efficient radius update method for complexity reduction of list version sphere decoding and its application to iterative soft MIMO detection. We evaluate the performance of the proposed scheme with a joint soft-input-soft-ouput iterative MIMO detection in combination with turbo codes. Simulation results show that the proposed methods provide substantial complexity reduction while achieving similar bit error rate (BER) performance as the conventional LSD scheme.

  • As low power, low cost wireless communication technology like Bluetooth, Zigbee, RFID has been put to practical use together with the wellbeing trend, the concern about ubiquitous health care has been greatly increased and u-Health is becoming one of the most important application in the sensor network field. Especially, development of the medical services to be able to cope with a state of emergency for solitary senior citizens and the aged in silver town is very meaningful itself and their needs are also expected to continuously increase with a rapid increase in an aging population. In this paper we demonstrate the feasibility of extracting accurate heart rate variability (HRV) measurements from photoelectric plethysmography(PPG) signals gathered by a ring type pulse oximeter sensor attached to the finger. For this, we made 2 types of ring sensor, that is reflective and pervious type, and developed the remote monitoring system which is able to collect HR data from ring sensor, analyze and cope with a state of emergency.

A simple approach for circular Arc detection using a least squares fitting and preprocessing (최소자승법과 전 처리를 이용한 원호 검출의 간단한 접근)

  • The circular arc is a very useful feature for object detection and recognition in industrial environments. In this paper, a new method to detect circular arcs is proposed. The detection of the circular arc includes the estimation of the center, the radius and the two ending points of the arc. This new method is based on determining the best part of the circular arc (part which does not contains outliers points) using 3 points designated along the arc. A least square method is applied to the best part of the arc and the center and the radius of the arc are obtained. The distance between the remaining edge's points (points which are not lying on the best part of the arc) and the radius is used to the two ending points of the arc.
