  • In this paper, stability analysis is carried out far the out of plane behaviors under compressive loads to the conical direction. It is not easy to obtain the analytic solutions about the stability analysis of anisotropic conical shells consisted of composite materials. For solving this problems, this paper used the finite difference method which is one of the numerical methods. The characteristics of the buckling behaviors of anisotropic laminated composite conical shells may be different according to a variety of causes, that is, the change of fiber angle, material arrangement, radius ratio, shape ratio and so on. The objective of this study is to analyze buckling behaviors of circular conical shells with shear deformation effects and to prove the advantage of composite materials.

  • In this study, cantilever cylindrical shells with edge-stiffeners are analyzed. A versatile 4-node flat shell element which is useful for the analysis of shell structures is used. An improved flat shell element is established by the combined use of the addition of non-conforming displacement modes and the substitute shear strain fields. Three models by load conditions are considered. Model A, B and C are loaded by point load at the free edge, line load and external pressure respectively. A various parameter examples are presented to obtain proper stiffened length and stiffened thickness of edge-stiffeners. It is shown that the thickness of shell can be reduced more than 50% for Model A, about $20{\sim}30%$ for Model B by appropriate edge-stiffeners.

  • To make practical application of mixing test results to concrete mix design, experimental tests of concrete were done and the relationship between cement-water ratio and compressive strength of concrete was obtained. A computer program which can be used for data base of air content, slump and compressive strength test results was developed. The program draws $\bar{X}$-R or X-Rs control charts and has data sheets for arrangement of material test results. The computer program also helps calculation of concrete mix proportions for mixing tests and contains dictionary of concrete technical terms.

  • In this study, composite laminated conical shells with ring stiffeners are analyzed. A versatile 4-node shell element which is useful for the analysis of conical shell structures is used. An improved flat shell element is established by the combined use of the addition of non-conforming displacement modes and the substitute shear strain fields. The proposed element has six degrees of freedom per node and permits an easy connection to other types(beam element) of Optimum location and optimum section properties of ring stiffeners are obtained. It is shown that the thickness of conical shell is reduced about 20% by optimum ring stiffeners.

  • Conventional concrete mixing method is to put all of the materials simultaneously into a mixer and mix for a required time. However, recently concrete researchers have reported that mixing sequence iufluences the properties of concrete. This study discusses the influence of mixing sequence and partitioning addition of mixing water. Concrete, by method of partitioning addition of mixing water, was found to have substantially stronger strength than conventional concrete with the same water-cement ratio. This means that a higher strength concrete could be obtained by using “Sand Enveloped with Cement”(S.E.C) mixing technique. Both a high bond strength between cement paste and aggregate, and elimination of bleeding both contribute to improving the strength of S. E. C concrete.

  • This study investigated the accident cases of the U.S. Air Force and the R.O.K. Army. It analyzed the accident factors of the unmanned aircraft system using case analysis on unmanned aircraft system operators of the R.O.K. Air Force. Following the analysis this paper suggested safety operation plans for the R.O.K. Air Force. The risk factors of unmanned aircraft system were summarized by collecting and analyzing accident cases of unmanned aircraft system by the U.S. Air Force, collecting and analyzing accident risk factors of RQ-4 operators of the R.O.K. Air Force. Through the analyzed risk factors, a safety operation plan for the semi-automatic unmanned aircraft system and the fully automatic unmanned aircraft system was presented.

  • Objective : This study was designed to evaluate the decreasing or stop-smoking effect of smoking patients who were given to the auricular acupuncture treatment. Methods : We investigated the smoking patients who serviced Korea Power Engineering Company from March 2002 to April 2002. And one month later we investigated result. Results : In the success rate of low nicotine dependence group, stop-smoking was 28.2%, Above good effect was 57.7%. In the success rate of high nicotine dependence group, stop-smoking was 12.5%, Above good effect was 23.1%. Conclusion : We found that the auricular acupuncture treatment has the decreasing or stop-smoking effect of smoking patients specially to low nicotine dependence group.

  • In this paper, the stability of cantilever composite laminated structures with open channel section is studied. This paper deals with the buckling behavior under the variation of the geometrical shape (length ratio, crank angle in the open channel section), the fiber reinforced angle, and so on in order to offer a effective and reliable design data. Also, sensitive analyses are carried out on the stability by the interaction of design factors. Based on this fact, the proper channel section and lamination scheme of composite material cantilever structures are considered in the engineering aspect.

  • Military UAV(Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) operated as a RC(Remotely Control) model level within the limit of the military special use airspace until now. However, the high and medium altitude of URA(Unmanned Reconnaissance Aircraft) which the ROKAF have been trying to import recently is at the UAV level and needs the criteria for the classified airspace flights. The required flight criteria includes operator location, mission operation limit, equipment, etc., which are the principle and standard applied based on the airspace use for UAV. Also, the general flight rules, visual flight rules, instrument flight rules are required in order to have to be applied to the actual flight. Besides, an appliance regulation needs to be arranged regarding two-way communication, ATC and communication issue, airspace and area in-flight between UAS( Unmanned Aircraft System) users. An operation of the UAV in the air significantly requires the guarantee of the aircraft's capacity, and also the standardized flight criteria. A safe and smooth use is ensured only if this criteria is applied and understood by the entire airspace users. For the purpose, a standardized military UAV flight operations criteria that is to be applied for each airspace by UAV is to be prepared through analysis of the present state, a legend UAV system, and a special character analysis.
