Availability of Chicken Feather for Removal of Hexavalent Chromium and Oil (6가 크롬 및 유류 제거를 위한 우모 폐기물의 이용가능성)

  • We investigated usefulness of chicken feather as bioadsorbent for removal of hexavalent chromium[Cr(VI)] and oil from aqueous solution. Chicken feather was chemically treated with DTPA, EDTA, NaOH and SDS, respectively. Among them, EDTA was the most effective in adsorbing Cr(VI). Cr(VI) uptake by chicken feather was increased with decreasing pH; the highest Cr(VI) uptake was observed at pH 2.0. By increasing Cr(VI) concentration, Cr(VI) uptake was increased, and maximum Cr(VI) uptake was 0.34 mmol/g. Cr(VI) adsorption by chicken feather was well described by Freundlich isotherm than Langmuir isotherm and Freundlich constant(1/n) was 0.476. As the concentration of chicken feather was increased, Cr (VI) removal efficiency was increased but Cr(VI) uptake was decreased. Most of Cr(VI) was adsorbed at early reaction stage(1 h) and adsorption equilibrium was established at 5 h. On the other hand, chicken feather adsorbed effectively oils including bunker-A and bunker-C. In conclusion, our results suggest that chicken feather waste could be used to remove heavy metal and oil; it is a potential candidate for biosorption material.

Research Trends in Domestic Academic Fields on Dance Expression of Dancers (무용수의 무용표현력에 관한 국내 학술분야 연구동향)

  • The purpose of this study is to grasp the research trends of domestic journals about dance expression ability. The thesis was selected from 36 articles selected from Korean Academic Information (KISS) provided by KERIS from 2001 to December, 2017 and articles related to dance expressions included in DBpia, Research methods, research subjects, and research themes. First, the research trends of the academic journals by year were on average 3 from 2004 to 2017. Second, the research method is mostly related to quantitative research methods. Third, research theme trends were dance expressiveness, body expression ability, and dance expressiveness. Fourth, the research subjects were dance students major, dance program, dance expression in order. In the future, it is necessary to confirm the research techniques and overcome the researches to overcome the research tendency based on questionnaire scales or statistical results.

Characteristics of Chungkookjang Prepared by Bacillus amyloliquefaciens with Different Soybeans and Fermentation Temperatures (Bacillus amyloliquefaciens를 이용하여 콩 종류와 발효온도를 달리하여 제조한 청국장의 특성)

  • This study was carried out to investigate the characteristics of Chungkookjang depending on different soybeans and fermentation temperatures using Bacillus amyloliquefaciens C2 isolated from homemade Chungkookjang. The highest protease activity was 854 U/g in yellow soybean Chungkookjang and 847 U/g in black soybean Chungkookjang at $35^{\circ}C$. The highest amylase activity was 3.87 U/g at $40^{\circ}C$ in yellow soybean Chungkookjang and 4.96 U/g at $45^{\circ}C$ in black soybean Chungkookjang. The highest reducing sugar content was 16.11 mg/g at $40^{\circ}C$ in yellow soybean Chungkookjang and 19.08 mg/g at $45^{\circ}C$ in black soybean Chungkookjang. The highest amino type nitrogen content was 420 mg%/g in yellow soybean Chungkookjang and 194 mg%/g in black soybean Chungkookjang at $40^{\circ}C$. The highest pH was 7.92 at $40^{\circ}C$ in yellow soybean Chungkookjang and 7.59 at $45^{\circ}C$ in black soybean Chungkookjang. The highest number of viable cell was 9.3 log CFU/g at $40^{\circ}C$ in yellow soybean Chungkookjang and at $35^{\circ}C$ in black soybean Chungkookjang. On the other hand, the lowest ammonia type nitrogen content was 225 mg%/g at $45^{\circ}C$ in yellow soybean Chungkookjang and 80 mg%/g at $40^{\circ}C$ in black soybean Chungkookjang. Yellow soybean Chungkookjang showed high protease activity, pH and amino type nitrogen, whereas black soybean Chungkookjang showed high amylase activity and reducing sugar.

  • 기후변화로 인한 강수량의 지역별, 계절별 불균형은 홍수로 인한 하천 범람피해뿐만 아니라 하천의 건천화로 인한 수생태, 수질, 경관 저해 등의 피해를 야기하고 있다. 이와 같은 기후변화로 인한 수자원의 영향을 평가하기 위해 기상 현상을 재현하고 예측하기 위한 기후모형과 이와 연계하여 지표의 수문 순환과 에너지 순환과정을 모의할 수 있는 지표수문모형의 필요성이 대두되고 있다. 그러나, 하천유출에 대한 모니터링시스템 체계를 구축하기 위해 지표수문모형을 사용하여 하천의 장기유출을 모의하는 시도는 국내에서는 아직 일반화되지 않고 있다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 횡방향 유출흐름 모의가 가능하도록 개선된 격자형 지표수문모형인 Common Land Model(CoLM)의 우리나라 하천유역에 대한 장기하천유출 모의 적용성을 확인하고자 한다. 이를 위하여 4대강(한강, 낙동강, 금강, 섬진강)의 자연유역을 대상으로 주요 댐 상류유역에 대하여 CoLM이 필요로 하는 지표경계조건자료와 기상입력자료를 구축하고 모형의 주요 매개변수에 대한 검보정을 수행하여 각 지점별 최적의 장기하천유출 모의결과를 도출하고자 한다. CoLM의 지표경계조건자료 구축을 위해서는 고해상도의 인공위성자료 및 지점측정자료를 수집하고, 기상입력자료 구축을 위해서는 기상청에서 제공하는 기상자료를 수집하여, 모형의 계산시간 및 지역예보모델에 많이 사용되고 있는 공간해상도를 고려한 모형의 입력자료는 30km 계산 격자망 자료로 구축될 예정이다. CoLM의 모의성능 평가 및 결과분석을 위해 총 30년(1990-2019) 기간에 대한 모의결과 중, 초기 10년은 초기조건 수립을 위한 안정화 기간으로 제외하고, 다음 10년(2000~2009)은 보정기간으로 설정하고 마지막 10년(2010~2019)은 검정기간으로 설정하여 지표수문모형의 장기하천유출모의 적용성이 평가될 예정이다. 본 논문의 결과는 향후 우리나라 주요 유역에 대해 이상기후로 인한 하천 수자원 및 수생태의 영향을 분석하고, 하천의 건천화 대책 수립 등에 대한 기초정보를 제공할 수 있을 것이라 기대한다.

Evaluation of Electrolyte and Electrode Spacing for Application of Electrokinetic Remediation (전기동력학적 정화기술 적용을 위한 최적의 전해질 선택 및 전극간의 거리 평가)

  • The influence of processing fluids and electrode spacing on the electrokinetic process was evaluated to remediate As-, Cu-, Pb-contaminated soil. Single and mixture of sodium citrate, EDTA and NaOH was used to investigate the metal extraction. EDTA for washing reagent showed the highest removal efficiency. Based on the extraction result, the electrode spacing (20, 40, 60 cm) on the electrokinetic process was investigated to remove the multi-metals from soil. The highest removal was observed at the experiment with 60 cm of electrode spacing, however, the correlation between electrode spacing and removal of metals was not clear. The electrode spacing influenced the amount of accumulated electro-osmotic flow. BCR sequential extraction showed that electrokinetic process removed the fractionation of metals bound to Fe-Mn oxyhydroxide.

Effect of Planting Date on the Infection of Necrotic Soybean SMV (파종시기에 따른 콩 양저바이러스(SMV-IV)의 발생경향)

  • Severe outbreak of necrotic. soybean mosaic virus. (SMV -N) strain has been observed on soybean (Glycine max) in the central northern pans of Korea. Thirty soybean cultivars developed from Korea. Japan, and USA were tested for the estimation of infection percentages and ratings at 4 different planting dates. SMV-N infection was decreased by delaying the planting dates, but no differences were observed in conmon mosaic virus. Most of the soybean cultivars developed in Korea, and Japan were more susceptible to SMV- N than the US developed cultivars. Infection ratings of SMV-N showed highly significant negative correlations with common SMV regardless of planting dates.

Evaluation of Processing Fluids on Electrokinetic remediation of Cu, Pb, As-contaminated soil (Cu, Pb, As 복합 중금속오염 토양의 전기동력학적 정화에서 전해질의 영향 평가)

  • Electrokinetic technology was applied to remediate Cu, Pb and As-contaminated paddy soil. Removal of metal is highly dependent on the processing fluid during electrokinetic treatment. Tap water, NaOH, $HNO_3$, $Na_2EDTA$, and citric acid were evaluated as the processing fluids to enhance metal removal. Cu and Pb were transported toward cathode, however, it did not removed from soil section, while 56.6% of As was removed at a acidic condition. The strong acidic condition with nitric acid as a processing fluid enhanced the desoprtion of As from soil surface. However, longer operation time is needed to get the higher removal of Cu and Pb, and the acidification of soil after electrokinetic treatment should be solved.

Microstructural Characteristics of Ni/YSZ Cermet for High Temperature Electrolysis by Mechanical Alloying (기계적 합금화법으로 제조된 고온 수전해용 Ni/YSZ 전극의 미세구조 특성)

  • Modified Ni/YSZ cermets for high temperature electrolysis were synthesized by the direct ball milling of Ni and YSZ powder. The ball milling was carried out in dry process and in ethanol with varying milling time. While the dry-milling decreased the average size from 65 to $80{\mu}m$, the wet-milling decreased the average size down to $10{\mu}m$. In addition, very fine particles less than $0.1{\mu}m$ were observed in the wet-milling condition. The subsequent process of cold-pressing and sintering at $900^{\circ}C$ for 2 h did not affect the particle size of dry-milled powder. The electrical conductivity of the dry-milled Ni/YSZ cermet showed the value of $5{\times}10^{2}\;S/cm$ and this value was increased to $1.4{\times}10^{4}\;S/cm$ after the sintering at $900^{\circ}C$ for 2 h.

  • Well documented, simplified and clarified source code is required for the mission critical application software area in which C programing language is generally used. We suggest an XML_based comment management system for C source code. The comment management system is composed of 6 modules including comment user module, reviewer module, comment extraction module, comment traceability link module, comment tag definition module and storage management module. The XML comment tags defined in this paper cover categories of the development process activities applying the IEEE standard 1028 and IEEE standard 1012. The XML Schema Is used to insert comments into C source code and to extract XML tags from C source code and the XSL-FO is used fur the visual display professing o( comment extraction results.

A Study on Model Experiment for Evaluation of Debris Flow's Impact Force Characteristics (토석류 충격력 특성 평가를 위한 모형실험 연구)

  • Debris flow is defined as water mixture flow with wide range of large size soil particles such as rock, gravel and sand. Localized heavy rain, derived from abnormal weather, results in the debris flow which generally occurs in summer, especially during and after rainy season and typhoon. This study focuses on the characteristics of impact force of the debris flow with different gravels and gravel mixtures by model experiment. Based on measured experiment results, it is found that the impact force derived by debris flow is mot proportional to the amount of dry material mixture, but depends on the particle size distribution of the debris flow.
