STABLIZATION OF THE EARLY ERUPTED FIRST PREMOLAR WITH FIXED APPLIANCE (고정식 장치를 이용한 조기 맹출 소구치의 안정화)

  • Early eruption refers to an accelerated eruption of a tooth beyond the normal eruption period. The clinical findings of an early erupted tooth with little formation of crown and/or root include severe mobility, pain on chewing, hypocalcification of the enamel, and inclination, displacement, and rotation of the tooth. The radiographic findings include underdeveloped root and insufficient bone support. Early eruption of a permanent tooth can cause several complications such as chronic trauma, pain, edema, an increased rate of premolar impaction and tooth displacement and/or rotation. Therefore, when a permanent tooth erupts earlier than its normal eruption period with accompanying symptoms, appropriate treatments should be done as soon as possible. A female patient of age 7 without any systemic disease was referred from a local dental clinic with chief complaint of severe mobilities and pain in both upper first premolars. According to the clinical and radiographic examinations, the permanent teeth erupted earlier with barely formed roots, severe mobilities, edema, and pain. This case is to report the successful accomplishment of root formations and stabilization of teeth after applying intraoral fixed appliances using bands and spurs for 14 months.

Immediate Connection of Customized Zirconia Abutment Using Flapless Guided Surgery: A Clinical Report (무절개 수술을 이용한 맞춤형 지르코니아 지대주의 즉시 장착 증례)

  • There are some similar aspects at histological and morphological characteristics between the peri-implant tissue and periodontal tissue and the direct attachment between the titanium and soft tissue around the implant called as "Functional ankylosis" can prevent the apical infiltration of inflammatory and bone resorption around implant. But, the repeated connection and disconnection of the abutment can destroy the mucosal barrier of soft tissue around the implant and can cause the marginal bone resorption. The amount of marginal bone resorption may reduced if the prosthetic abutment is placed at that time of surgery. Connection of the prosthetic abutment at surgery was limited because the low accuracy of conventional method, but by using of Cone Beam Computed Tomography(CBCT) and guide surgery, the 3-dimensional accuracy of implant placement became much higher than before and it became possible. This is a clinical case of immediate connection of prosthetic abutment and provisional restoration by using of precise CBCT diagnosis and pre-fabricated zirconia customized abutment at surgery and the alternative method is described in this article because of the clinically contentable results.

Studies of Physicochemical Properties of Baby Powder Developed from Rice-flour (쌀 분말을 이용한 유아용 파우더의 이화학적 특성 연구)

  • Baby powder is an astringent powder used to prevent diaper rash. It also has other cosmetic uses. In general, it is composed of talc powder (talcum powder). Talc powder is harmful if inhaled because it can cause significant lung damage. With the aim of developing a new rice-based baby powder, three kinds of rice varieties were selected and pulverized. To determine the cost-effectiveness of the different states of rice powder, several milling processes were tried, and the powder characteristics of the resulting rice powder, such as particle size, biological activities, digitalized color value, and moisture content before and after coating treatment with essential oil and silicon oil, were examined. "Goami" showed good flour characteristics with respect to lightness (92.0, $L^*$[D65] value) and particle size ($8.9{\mu}m$). SEM analysis showed that the rice powder particles coated in the essential oil and silicon oil showed a smoother and rounder appearance than those of the talc powder. In addition, the average particle size was decreased by the essential oil and silicon oil coating. The silicon oil coating solved the problem of moisture absorption in rice flour. Rice flour properly coated with essential oil and silicon oil shows great potential as a new material source of powder.

  • Chitin은 새우나 게 등을 비롯한 해산 갑각류의 가공 폐기물로 버려지는 부패, 악취발생 등의 환경공해를 일으키며 처리비용 등 여러 가지 문제를 야기하던 물질이지만 최근에는 부가가치가 높은 chitosan 및 chitooligosaccarides로 가공되기 때문에 폐기물의 자원화와 미이용 자원의 개발 등 여러 가지 측면에서 기대가 모아지고 있는 다당류이다. 더욱이 chitin의 탈아세틸화로 얻어지는 chitosan은 polycation의 성질을 가지고 있어서 현재 응집제로서 각종 공업 분야에 널리 이용되고 있으며 최근에는 그 외에도 다양한 생리적 기능성을 가지고 있다는 사실이 밝혀지면서 의료, 생호학, 화장품, 식품, 화학 공업 및 농업용 등 다양한 분야에 응용 가능한 신소재로서 기대가 높아지고 있다. 그런, chitosan은 생리적 기능은 우수하지만 물에 용해되지 않고 점도가 높으며 떫은맛이 나기 때문에 식품을 비롯한 기타 응용분야에 이용이 제한되고 있다. 따라서 많은 연구자들은 이와 같은 물리적인 장애를 개선함으로써 chitosan 자체가 갖는 우수한 생리적 기능을 이용할 뿐만 아니라 항종양성을 비롯한 새로운 생리적 기능을 갖는 chitosan 유도체의 개발을 시도하고 있다. Chitosan 유도체 중에서도 chitooligosaccharides는 chitosan의 가수분해로 얻어지는 저분자 화합물이므로 물에 잘 용해도며 점도가 낮고 용액이 단맛을 낼뿐만 아니라 chitosan이 갖지 않는 새로운 생리적 기능성을 갖는 것으로 알려지면서 관심이 집중되기 시작하였다. 본고에서는 chitosan과 chitooligosaccarides의 생리 활성 기능에 대한 지금까지의 연구결과를 소개하고자 한다.에 대한 면밀한 사안이 밝혀지는 경우가 많지 않다. 또한 그 발생 경위나 원인요소에 대해서는 일반에게 공개되지 않고 있어, 우리가 실천하여 식중독을 예방할 수 있는 정보가 함께 제시되지 못하는 형편이다. 따라서 본 고에서는 최근 수년간 외국에서 학교급식을 비롯한 집단급식 등에서 발생한 식중독 사례를 중심으로 고찰, 분석하였다. 이로부터 식중독 발생에 기여한 주요 원인을 찾아내고 여기서 얻어지는 교훈을 토대로 식중독 발생을 예방 및 최소화할 수 있는 실천적 대처 방안을 모색해 보고자 한다.중의 E. coli O157:H7이 연관되어있다는 보고도 있다. 목장 방문시 원유를 마신 어린이에서 HUS가 유발하였고, 균분리 결과, 농장의 소와 어린이에서 유사한 E. coli O157:H7이 분리된 바 있다. 본 연자들은 베로톡신 유형, plasmid profiles, RFLP 분석, phage type을 기초로하여 소에서 분리된 E. coli O157:H7이 사람유래주와 매우 유사함을 확인하였다.mm 및 2-6mm 난포에서의 101개(67.8%) 및 47개(50.0%) 보다 매우 낮게 나타났다. 전체 회수 난포란수도 4등급이 59.1%(149/252)로써 1, 2, 3등급의 0.4% (1/252), 7.6%(19/252) 및 32.9%(83/252)보다 높게 나타났다. 1회 평균 회수 난포란은 $\leq$2mm 난포에서 4.8$\pm$3.7개로써 2-6mm(3.0$\pm$3.4개) 및 $\geq$6mm (0.3$\pm$0.6개)보다 높았으며, 1회당 평균 8.1$\pm$5.1개의 난포란을 회수하였다. in

Ettect of Diets Containing Dried Whey and Chitin on Growth Rate of Broiler Chicks (Dried Whey와 Chitin의 첨가(添加)가 Broiler Chick의 성장(成長)에 미치는 영향(影響)에 관한 연구(硏究))

  • Two experiments, utilizing 204 broiler chicks of the Maniker strain, were conducted to study the effects of dried whey and chitin on the growth of chicks. In the first experiment, diets containing 5%, 10%, or 15% dried whey, or a control diet with no whey, were fed to chicks from 1 day to 4 weeks of age. There were no significant differences among the dietary groups, with respect to the rate of growth or protein or feed efficiency. In the second experiment, chicks were fed with diets containing no whey, 2% chitin, 20% dried whey, or 20% dried whey plus 2% chitin, from 1 day to 4 weeks of age. Adverse effects (diarrhea, crooked toes and enlarged cecum) were observed in the group fed 20% dried whey. The protein efficiency ratio (PER) and feed efficiency ratio (FER) tended to improve in the dietary groups with dried whey, as compared to the control group. No significant differences were observed in the total carcass nitrogen and lipid levels of dietary groups. But the chitin-supplemented diets tended to improve on the growth rate compared to the groups without chitin. The results of the two experiments suggest that the growing broiler chick can tolerate up to 15% dried whey in the diet, without any harmful effect on growth. Also, chitin may improve the poorer growth rate of chicks fed dried whey, but not all of the adverse effects of whey.

An Analysis on the Prevention Effects of Forward and Chain Collision based on Vehicle-to-Vehicle Communication (차량 간 통신 기반 전방추돌 및 연쇄추돌 방지 효과 분석)

  • The forward collision of vehicles in high speed can cause a chain collisions and high fatality rate. Most of the forward collisions are caused by insufficient braking distance due to detection time of driver and safe distance. Also, accumulated detection time of driver is cause of chain collisions after the forward collision. The FVCWS prevents the forward collision by maintaining the safety distance inter-vehicle and reducing detection time of driver. However the FVCWS can cause chain collisions because the system that interacts only forward vehicle has accumulated detection time of driver. In this paper, we analyze forward and chain collisions of normal vehicles and FVCWS vehicles on static traveling scenario. And then, we analyze and compare V2V based FVCWS with them after explaining the system. The V2V FVCWS reduces detection time of driver alike FVCWS as well as remove accumulated detection time of driver by broadcasting emergence message to backward vehicles at the same time. Therefore, the system decrease possibility of forward and chain collisions. All backward normal vehicles and 3~4 backward FVCWS vehicles have possibility of forward and chain collisions in result of analysis. However V2V FVCWS vehicles almost do not chain collisions in the result.

EVALUATION OF THREE FLOWABLE COMPOSITES AS PIT AND FISSURE SEALANTS WITHOUT USING BONDING AGENTS (접착제 미 사용시 치면열구전색제로서의 유동성 복합레진 평가)

  • The aims of this study were to determine if flowable composites can be used as pit and fissure sealants without bonding agents. Three flowable composites(Filtek Flow, Tetric Flow, Charmfil Flow) and a filled sealant (Ultraseal XT plus) were used. The pattern of resin tag formation in the four sealant materials were compared using SEM. For the microleakage assessment, 54 extracted human premolar teeth were randomly divided into 3 groups containing 18 premolars each. In each group, a conventional filled sealant and one of the three flowable composites were applied to occlusal fissures. The teeth were thermocycled(1200 cycles between $5^{\circ}{\pm}2^{\circ}C\;and\;55^{\circ}{\pm}2^{\circ}C$ with a dwell time of 30 seconds) and immersed in a 1% methylene blue solution for 48 hours. Each tooth was sectioned and examined to determine the extent of dye penetration. Three flowable composites and a filed sealant showed a similar resin tag formation pattern. The three flowable composites showed significantly more microleakage in each group than the filled sealant. The level of microleakage was similar in the three flowable composites. Flowable composites are not recommended as pit and fissure sealants because more microleakage can occur even when occlural fissures are mechanically widened.

  • As consumers are becoming more conscious about food safety and high quality standards, they are getting more interested in influencing the food policy-making process. Triggered by FTA (Free Trade Agreement) ratification between the Republic of Korea and the U.S. in 2008, a sharp conflict was created in importing U.S. beef between the government of Republic of Korea and its people. Food selection is known as a complex mental process of consumers, which incorporates social and cultural values, personal tastes, and other psychological factors. This study utilized the concept of antinomy which was signified by Immanuel Kant in his thesis. The concept of antinomy indicates a contradiction between conclusions which seem equally logical, reasonable or necessary. This study is designed to investigate the changes in the amount of beef consumption among Korean consumers after the Republic of Korea resumed U.S. beef imports and the impact of a consumer's trust in the U.S. on his/her antinomic acceptance. Also, it examined the effects of antinomic acceptance and whether a consumer is a potential restaurateur or a general consumer on the changes in the amount of beef consumption.

강지진동 분석의 최적화를 위한 고려요소

  • 한반도에 있어서의 지진의 영향을 분석하기 위해서는 강지진동 연구가 필수적이다. 강지진동 자료가 부족한 한반도의 특성상 모사를 통해 연구하고 있다. 강지진동 분석을 하기 위해서는 되도록 노이즈가 포함되어 있지 않은 지진파자료를 선택하여 그 지진자료의 스펙트럼 분석을 통해 감쇠상수 k, Q 등을 구한다. 이러한 감쇠상수 값을 통해 한반도의 진동 특성을 이해할 수 있다. 그러나 감쇠상수를 구하는 과정에서 감쇠상수 분석에 사용된 지진자료에 노이즈가 더해졌을 경우, 어떤 형태로 스펙트럼 영역에 영향을 미치고, 감쇠상수에는 어떤 영향을 미치는 지를 연구하여 노이즈효과를 제거할 수 있는 최적화된 분석에 관한 연구가 선행되어야 한다고 본다. 따라서 이번 연구에서는 강지진동 모사프로그램을 가지고 노이즈효과를 적용하면서 감쇠상수에 노이즈가 어떤 영향을 미치는 지에 대한 수치 해석적 연구를 실시하였다. 합성지진파에 이 합성지진파와 전혀 다른 주파수 형태를 보이는 노이즈를 강도를 달리하면서 합성해 본 결과, 노이즈효과를 고려할 수 있는 몇 가지 요소가 있음을 알 수 있었다. 감쇠상수 k값을 강지진동 모사프로그램으로부터 값을 달리하며 합성해 본 결과 노이즈효과를 보이는 것을 알 수 있었으며, 감쇠상수 k를 선형회귀를 통해 $k_{s}$$k_{q}$를 구할 때의 적용 주파수 범위를 변화시켰을 때도 일정한 양상의 노이즈 효과를 보였다. 또 지진자료와 노이즈를 중첩시킨 지진파 시계열 자료의 정부분만을 감쇠상수 k를 구하는 선형회귀에 이용했을 경우에도 노이즈 효과를 보였다. 또한 계산되어 나온 감쇠상수 값으로부터 특정지역의 지반운동의 특성을 이해할 수 있는 스펙트럼 가속도, 최대 가속도, 및 최대속도 값에 따른 감쇠식을 구하였다. 이것을 한반도와 같은 판 내부 환경인 ENA 값과 비교하였으며 기존의 연구와도 비교하였다.심으로부터 지오이드까지의 거리, 지오이드로부터 지표까지의 거리를 정의해주었으며, 각 격자점의 수직구조를 정의하기 위해 깊이에 따른 각 매질의 밀도, P파의 속도, S파의 속도, P파에 대한 Q값, S파에 대한 Q값을 정의 해주었다. S파의 속도를 구하기 위해서 지구 내부 물질을 포아송 매질이라는 가정 하에, 관계식을 $Vp{\;}={\;}SQRT(3){\;}{\times}{\;}Vs$ 이용하였다. 획득한 모델치들을 이용해 동해와 동해 인근 지역에 대한 초기모델을 구축하였다. 약 1 × 10/sup 6/ e/sup -//sec·n㎡ 의 전자선량에 해당되며 이를 기준으로 각각의 illumination angle에 대한 임계전자선량을 평가할 수 있었다. 실질적으로 Cibbsite와 같은 무기수화물의 직접가열실험 시 전자빔 조사에 의해 야기되는 상전이 영향을 배제하고 실험을 수행하려면 illumination angle 0.2mrad (Dose rate : 8000 e/sup -//sec·n㎡)이하로 관찰하고 기록되어야 함을 본 자료로부터 알 수 있었다.운동횟수에 의한 영향으로써 운동시간을 1일 6시간으로 설정하여, 운동횟수를 결정하기 위하여 오전, 오후에 각 3시간씩 운동시키는 방법과 오전부터 6시간동안 운동시키는 두 방법을 이용하여 품질을 비교하였다. 각 조건에 따라 운동시킨 참돔의 수분함량을 나타낸 것으로, 2회(오전 3시간, 오후 3시간)에 나누어서 운동시키기 위한 육의 수분함량은 73.37±2.02%를 나타냈으며, 1회(6시간 운동)운동시키기 위한 육은 71.74±1.66%을 나타내었다. 각각의 운동조건에서 양식된 참돔은 사육초기에는 큰 변화가 없었으나, 사육 5일 이후에는 수분함량이 증가하여 15일에는 76.40±0.14, 75.62±0.98%의 수분함량을 2회와 1회 운동시킨 참돔의 육에서 각각 나타났다. 운동횟수에 따른 지

  • Endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs) can alter hormone regulation that control reproductive system in animals. The effects of endosulfan, molinate, and alachlor that suspected to have examined disruption EDCs effect on a fish species of interest, Xiphophorus helleri (swordtail fish), were studied using vitellogenin (Vtg) and aromatase as diagnostic biomarkers. Induction of Vtg proteins was detected by RT-PCR in male fish treated with alachlor, and mixture of endosulfan and molinate in dose response manner. Also, induction of aromatase was detected by RT-PCR in male fish treated with alachlor, endosulfan, and mixture of endosulfan and molinate in sinlilar manner. In this study, swordtail fish exposed to endosulfan or molinate individually did not show any adverse effects. However, Vtg and aromatase expressions and apoptosis were detected in swordtail. fish exposed to the mixture of endosulfan and molinate. These results suggested that low concentrations of mixture of molinate and endosulfan individually do not affect swordtail fish, but may influence genital system, and induce apoptosis.
