Development of Java/VRML-based 3D GIS's Framework and Its Prototype Model (Java/VRML기반 3차원 GIS의 기본 구조와 프로토타입 모델 개발)

  • Recently, 3D GIS based on 3D geo-processing methodology and Internet environment are emerging issues in GIS fields. To design and implement 3D GIS, the strategic linkage of Java and VRML is first regarded: 3D feature format definition in the passion of conventional GIS including aspatial attributes, 3B feature indexing, 3D analytical operators such as selection, buffering, and Near, Metric operation such as distance measurement and statistical description, and 3D visualization. In 3D feature format definition, the following aspects are implemented: spatial information for 3D primitives extended from 2D primitives, multimedia data, object texture or color of VRML specification. DXF-format GIS layers with additional attributes are converted to 3D feature format and imported into this system. While, 3D analytical operators are realized in the form of 3D buffering with respect to user-defined point, line, polygon, and 3D objects, and 3D Near functions; furthermore, 'Lantern operator' is newly introduced in this 3D GIS. Because this system is implemented by Java applet, any client with Java-enable browser including VRML browser plug-in can utilize the new style of 3D GIS function in the virtual space. Conclusively, we present prototype of WWW-based 3D GIS, and this approach will be contribute to development of core modules on the stage of concept establishment and of real application model in future.

  • MPEG-4 표준은 저작자가 정지영상, 텍스트, 2D/3D 그래픽스, 오디오, 심지어 임의형의 비디오 등과 같이 다양한 형태의 객체들을 개별적으로 구성하고 이들을 시/공간자적으로 다루기 용이하게 해 준다. 이와 같은 객체 기반 코딩 특성에 의해서 대화형 방송 콘텐츠를 제작하는데 가장 유용한 방식으로 고려할 수 있다. 피러나, 콘텐츠의 제작, 전송, 소비 관전에서 고려해 달 때, 콘텐츠 제작자 또는 저작권자의 보호 및 관리가 필요하게 되었다. 이에 따라 최근에는 OPIMA (Open Platform Initiative for Multimedia Access), SDMI (Secure Digital Music Initiative) and MPEG(Moving Picture Expert Group) OPIMATfMr(Intellectual Property Management & Protection)와 같은 국제 표준 단체들이 콘텐츠 보호 및 관리에 대한 관심을 가지게 되었다. 특히, MPEG의 경우에 MPEG-4 IPMP를 표준화하여 디지털 콘텐츠와 저작권에 대한 보호를 체계적이고 효과적으로 다루는 연구를 가장 활발히 해오고 있다. 이 논문에서 우리는 MPEG-4 콘텐츠 저작자가 MPEG-4 규격에 맞게 보호화 된 객체 기반 방송용 콘텐츠를 쉽고 편리하게 제작학 수 있도록 하기 위한 MPEG씨 콘텐츠 및 저자권 보호를 위한 MPEG-4 IPMP 저작 도구를 제안하고자 한다. 제안한 MPEG-4 콘텐츠 및 저작권 보호 저작 도구는 저작자에게 친근한 사용자 인터페이스를 제공하여 편집 및 수정이 용이한 텍스트 포맷인 IPMP회된 XMT(extensible Mpeg-4 Textual format) 파일을 생성한다. 또한, 콘텐츠 전송 및 저장의 효율성을 위해 이진 포멧인 IPMP화된 MP4 파일을 생성할 수 있다.으로써, 에러 이미지가 가지고 있는 엔트로피에 좀 근접하게 코딩을 할 수 있게 되었다. 이 방법은 실제로 Arithmetic Coder를 이용하는 다른 압축 방법에 그리고 적용할 수 있다. 실험 결과 압축효율은 JPEG-LS보다 약 $5\%$의 압축 성능 개선이 있었으며, CALIC과는 대등한 압축률을 보이며, 부호화/복호화 속도는 CALIC보다 우수한 것으로 나타났다.우 $23.87\%$($18.00\~30.91\%$), 갑폭 $23.99\%$($17.82\~30.48\%$), 체중 $91.51\%$($58.86\~129.14\%$)이였으며 성장율은 사육 온도구간별 차는 없었다.20 km 까지의 지점들(지점 2에서 지점 6)에서 매우 높은 값을 보이며 이는 조석작용으로 해수와 담수가 강제혼합되면서 표층퇴적물이 재부유하기 때문이라고 판단된다. 영양염류는 월별로 다소의 차이는 있으나, 대체적으로 지점 1과 2에서 가장 낮고, 상류로 갈수록 점차 증가하며 지점 7 상류역이 하류역에 비해 높은 농도이다. 월별로는 7월에 규산염, 용존무기태질소 및 암모니아의 농도가 가장 높은 반면에 용존산소포화도는 가장 낮다. 그러나 지점 14 상류역에서는 5월에 측정한 용존무기태질소, 암모니아, 인산염 및 COD 값이 7월보다 다소 높거나 비슷하다. 한편 영양염류와 COD값은 대체적으로 8월에 가장 낮으나 용존산소포화도는 가장 높다.출조건은 $100^{\circ}C$에서 1분간의 고온단시간 추출이 적합하였다. 증가를 나타내었는데, 저장기간에 따른 물성의 변화는 숭어에 비하여 붕장어가 적었다.양식산은 aspartic acid 및 proline이 많았다. 또한 잉어는 천연산이

  • DMB provides various kinds of data services such as BWS and TPEG service in addition to audio and video services. But recently the necessity of new business models creating profit has been on the rise due to the saturation of DMB receiver market and break-down of market barrier between mobile IPTV and DMB services. This paper introduces DMB filecasting service technology, which can be expected a new profit-creative business model. The purpose of DMB filecasting service is to transmit non-real time multimedia contents based on DMB AF format to the users through DMB channels. It makes possible to consume DMB contents with any DMB-installed device anytime, anywhere and share them with others. Also DMB filecasting service makes consumption and request of DMB contents possible to be extented to a variety of networks as well as DMB channels. The paper explains the standardization status of DMB filecasting service and various DMB filecasting service scenarios. And also it proposes a signalling methode, a transmission and reception protocol and a receiver structure using DMB broadcasting program guide information.

Study on Storytelling of VR Cartoons (VR 카툰의 스토리텔링 연구)

  • The virtual reality (VR) cartoon is a format of VR contents that leverage the characteristics of webtoons that provides the simple story line and graphical storytelling tools to strategically surmount limitations of VR contents design. The VR cartoon enables people to experience the imaginary three-dimensional space in the webtoon as a real space by the transformation of webtoon contents through VR prototyping. The VR cartoon successfully presents focused environment where people can readily pay attention to the contents without notable motion sickness. People have been familiar with the storytelling strategy in the context of published cartoons and webtoons, likely we've understood the narrative of a movie through the continuous scenes projected in the screen. Indeed, it has been recognized as a popular toolset of communication, where visual images are sequentially delivered by replacing multiple planar spaces to tell a story narrative. While there are discrete panels with the time and space resolution in the graphical cartoons, people can distill a commit closure based on their past experiences. This is a typical "grammar" of the cartoon, which can be extrapolated to the VR cartoon that provides a seminal storytelling strategy. In this article, we review how the storytelling strategy in webtoons has been transformed into that in VR cartoons, and analyze the key components of VR cartoons. We envision that our research can potentially create keystones to produce variety of new VR contents by reflecting various narrative media including cartoon as a 'sequential art'.

  • issued in the U.S is a magazine specialized in graphic design, which has a totally different style from commercial magazines such as show case. The main motive why Rudy VanderLans, the publisher, first issued this magazine in the early 1980s is his assertion that there is no design paradigm of universial concept in the aspect of viaual communication design. Also, it started from his recognition that a medium for letting a new generation's show their liberal thinking and experimental expressions. This study looks at theologies and assertions on new graphic concept, which is called the New Wave of graphic design by classifying the plans of into form and contents, and analyzes its specialty in design. Also, this study examines the overall trends of non-Grid editorial design since the modern style. By doing so, I could have a general look at the progressive traits and their futuristic directions that become to have a shorter life cycle with the advent of the 21st century's information era, high-tech media and the change of production environment by digital technology.

An Analysis of Optimal Sequences for the Detection of Wake-up Signal in Disaster-preventing Broadcast (재난방송용 대기모드 해제신호 검출을 위한 최적 부호 성능 분석)

  • Recently, the need for disaster-preventing broadcast has increased gradually to cope with natural disaster like earthquake and tsunami causing enormous losses of both life and property. In disaster-preventing broadcast system, the wake-up signal is used to alert user terminal and switch the current state of channel to the emergency channel, which is for the fast and efficient delivery of emergency information. In this paper, we propose the detection method of wake-up signal for disaster-preventing broadcast systems. The wake-up signals for disaster-preventing broadcast should have a good auto-correlation property in low power and narrow-band conditions that does not affect the existing digital television (DTV) system. The suitability of the m-sequence and complementary code (CC) is analyzed for wake-up signals according to signal to noise ratio. A wake-up signal is proposed by combining the direct sequence spread spectrum (DSSS) technique and pseudo noise (PN) sequences such as Barker and Walsh-Hadamard codes. By using the proposed method, a higher detecting performance can be achieved by the spreading gain compared to the single long m-sequence and the Golay code.

  • < My Little Television > with the new format which extends one person media broadcasting to terrestrial broadcasting is creating a huge Topic Index. It started the first broadcast on April 2015 and has continued the number one in viewer rating in the same time. While viewers directly participate in the program through the Daum TV Pod and a host communicates with viewers in a real time, various opinions are being reflected on the program. While a lot of information about the program has spread through SNS, it has led to raising the viewer rating of program. Recently, the Topic Index on the program has been published through the big data analysis rather than the program evaluation only by the viewer rating. The research on the correlation between the program viewer rating and amount of buzz has increased. In this study, it has analyzed how the Topic Index which is an extended concept of the amount of buzz affects the viewer rating. Study results show that the Topic Index is analyzed to positively influence the viewer rating. It will give a lot of help in studying big data of SNS on the program.

Implementation of RTP/RTCP for Teleconferencing System and Analysis of Quality-of-Service using Audio Data Transmission (영상회의 시스템을 위한 RTP/RTCP 구현 및 오디오 데이터 전송을 위용한 QoS 분석)

  • This paper deseribes the desihn and the implementation of the Realtime Transport Protocol(RTP)/ Rdaltime Control Protocol(RTCP) (RFC 1889,1890) that is used to transmit the audio/video data to any destination and to feedback the Quality of Service (QoS) information of the received media data to the sender, in the teleconferencing systems proposed by ITU-T. These protocols are implemented with multi thead technique and run on top of UDP/IP-Multicast through the socket interface as the underlying protocol. The upper layer is impelmented such that in can be accessed by the H245 comference control protocol. The RTP packetizes the digitized audio/video data from the encoder info a fixed format, and multieast to the participants. The RTCP monitors RTP packets and extracts the QoS values from it such as round-trip delay, jiter and packet loss to form RTCP packets and non periokically sends them to the sender site. In this Paper, we also descritx the study of measurement and analysis for QoS factors that observed on performing teleconferencing system over Internet. The results from this experiment is indicate that RTT and Jitter value are acceptable even entwork load is high. However, it appears that packet loss rate is high in daytime and most losses periods have length one or two.

  • The Information Technology has progressed to the open architecture, component, and multimedia services under Internet, ensuring interoperability, reusability, and realtime. The GIS is a system processing geo-spatial information such as natural resources, buildings, roads, and many kinds of facilities in the earth. The spatial information featured by complexity and diversity requires interoperability and reusability of pre-built databases under open architecture. This paper is for the development of component based open GIS Software. The goal of the open GIS component software is a middleware of GIS combining technology of open architecture and component ensuring interoperability of spatial information and reusability of elementary pieces of GIS software. The open GIS component conforms to the distributed open architecture for spatial information proposed by OGC (Open GIS Consortium). The system consists of data provider components, kernel (MapBase) components, clearinghouse components and five kinds of GIS application of local governments. The data provider component places a unique OLE DB interface to connect and access diverse data sources independent of their formats and locations. The MapBase component supports core and common technology of GIS feasible for various applications. The clearinghouse component provides functionality about discovery and access of spatial information under Internet. The system is implemented using ATL/COM and Visual C++ under MicroSoft's Windows environment and consisted of more than 20 components. As we made case study for KSDI (Korea Spatial Data Infrastructure) sharing spatial information between local governments, the advantage of component based open GIS software was proved. Now, we are undertaking another case study for sharing seven kinds of underground facilities using the open GIS component software.
