Preparation and properties of gelatin from conger eel skin (붕장어껍질로부터 젤라틴의 제조 및 그 특성)

  • To prepare edible skin gelatin of conger eel such as material fur quality improvement of surimi gel, the defatted skin was limed with 1% calcium hydroxide at $5^{\circ}C$ for 2 days, washed thoroughly with tap water, extracted with 8 volumes of distilled water to dehydrated skin for 2 hours at $50^{\circ}C$. The gelatin extract was centrifuged, filtered and then passed through anion(Amberlite 200C) and cation (Amberlite IR 900) resins. The purified gelatin solution was evaporated and dried by hot-air blast$(40^{\circ}C)$. The gelatin prepared by above condition had the highest quality as revealed by physical property values i.e. 240.5 g in gel strength, $28.0^{\circ}C$ in melting point and $28.0^{\circ}C$ in gelling point. Funtional property values were 56.8% in solubility, 1.8 ml/g in oil binding capacity, 55.0% in emulsifying capacity and 48.5% in emulsifying stability. jelly strength and senso교 evaluation of surimi gel from fish with red muscle were not improved by addition of emulsifying curd from conger eel skin gelatin as emulsifier. Therefore, the conger eel skin gelatin requires a suitable modification of functional group and improvement of processing operation to utilize as a material for quality Improvement of surimi gel.

An Approach to the Logistics Outsourcing Factors of the Korean Companies (한국 기업의 물류아웃소싱 활용요인에 관한 연구)

  • This study aims to understand the conditions for using logistics outsourcing of Korean enterprises, present existing problems, examine factors affecting utility, and analyze the pattern of logistics outsourcing based on contract term, and to ultimately contribute to enhancing competitiveness of logistics enterprises. Through the literature survey 8 factors were identified as three broad factors of corporate strategy, corporate characteristics, and environment. Factor analysis was conducted on the bases of 155 collected data among 400 distributions for 2 months from April to May in 2008. From the result of analysis, the implication and finding can be summarized into three aspects. Firstly, Korean companies value factors relative to corporate strategies as motivating factors for logistics outsourcing. Secondly, Korean companies consider logistics outsourcing depending on how to handle customers' demands and the severity of competition. Thirdly, it was found that product and organization characteristics are perceived as more important when contract term with logistics business is longer. The implications can be observed into two aspects. Firstly once the logistics outsourcing between manufacturers and logistics companies are determined, it was verified that mutual agreement, particular contracts and periodic communications can increase the outcome. Secondly the logistics outsourcing appeared to be different depending on the level of entering to foreign market and resulted in higher performance as well.

Physicochemical and Sensory Properties, and Bioactive Compounds of Blended Grape Juice from Different Grape Varieties (캠벨과 타품종 포도주스의 브렌딩에 의한 품질 및 기능특성)

  • Campbell juice (25%, 50%, 70% and 90%) was blended with different concentrations (10%, 25%, 30% and 50%) of juice from a range of grape varieties including Kyoho, Steuben and MBA. The concentrations of Campbell and the grape variety juices influenced the physicochemical characteristics of the blended grape juice. As the concentration of Campbell juice increased, there was an increase in the mean content of bioactive compounds including total phenolics, anthocyanin and flavonoids, and the radical scavenging activity increased. The treatment containing 25% juice from the various grape varieties had the lowest level of bioactive compounds. A sensory evaluation showed there was no significant difference among the blended juice samples in terms of aroma. The sample comprising 50% Campbell + 50% Kyoho was the most acceptable in terms of taste and overall acceptability, while the sample comprising 90% Campbell + 10% MBA was the most acceptable in terms of color and aroma.

  • Climate change and related policies and regulations influence the performance of the firms in various ways. Climate change influences corporate competitiveness through physical impacts, GHG regulations, changes in asset values, demand shift, etc. Therefore, corporate competitiveness could be maintained by reducing vulnerability to climate change and adapting to new circumstances. Without effective responses to the challenges, the firms would have difficulties in maintaining their competitiveness in the market and the cost of national economy will significantly increase as well. Even though it seems fairly easy to understand the meaning of competitiveness, deriving the driving forces of and measuring changes in competitiveness are complicated and disputable processes. A common way to overcome it is to develop a 'competitiveness index'. The objective of this study is to derive the main factors influencing corporate competitiveness related to climate change and develop 'competitiveness index' reflecting those factors. The index will make contribution to enhance the response capacity of the firms to climate change and increase the effectiveness of climate change policies for the industry by providing a quantitative tool to measure the changes in corporate competitiveness related to climate change.

  • Siloxane, organo-silicon compound, is used in the various forms of products such as cosmetics and detergents due to its quality physical chemistry attributes. Siloxane included in landfill gas which is caused in the process of decomposing of such products after landfill has imposed negative impacts on the operation of landfill gas utility facilities. The objective of this study was to investigate the siloxane production characteristics depending on the features of various landfill site in Korea so that the analysis was made on the landfilling age and landfill waste by in terms of its concentration, structure and composition. As for the concentration of siloxane depending on time passage, 12 landfill sites were reviewed by landfilling age. As for production attributes change of siloxane by landfill wastes, the source of wastes, physical production ration and siloxane concentration were compared in 6 landfills. The average concentration of total-siloxane within LFG is $6.75mg/m^3$ and cyclic-siloxane out of it occupies over 93%. By element, D4 and D5 in order take the highest proportion regardless of total-siloxane concentration and landfilling age. Even though this study is not able to verify the different impact of each kind of wastes on the generation of siloxane, it is confirmed that total-siloxane and cyclic-siloxane decrease in line with the increase of landfilling age as it does in the first order decay model for landfill gas.

Analysis of the Causes of Deformation of Packaging Materials Used for Ready-to-Eat Foods after Microwave Heating (즉석편의 식품용 포장재의 전자레인지 가열에 의한 변형 원인 분석)

  • The aim of this study was to investigate the deformation of packaging materials used for ready-to-eat (RTE) foods after the retort process and microwave heating. From the multilayer films consisting of polyethylene terephthalate (PET), polyamide (PA), and cast polypropylene (CPP) in a stand-up pouch form used for RTE foods, some deformation of the CPP layer, which was in direct contact with the food, was observed after the retort process and microwave heating. The damage was more severely caused by microwave heating than by the retort process. This may be attributed to diverse factors including the non-uniform heating in a microwave oven, the sorption of oil into the packaging film, and the different characteristics of food components such as viscosity, salt and water content. The development of heat-resistant packaging materials and systems suitable for microwave heating of RTE foods is required for the safety of consumers.

  • 캐패시터, 인덕터 등의 전자부품들은 적층기술 및 표면 실장 기술 등을 이용하여 적층형 칩형태로 제작되고 있다. 적층형 칩형태의 전자부품들은 전자기적 특성을 부여하는 세라믹스와 전극역할을 하는 금속으로 구성되어 있으며, 전극 부분은 크게 내부전극과 외부전극으로 구분된다. 고장이 발생하게 되면 고장의 형태를 의미하는 고장모드(failure mode)와 제품을 고장에 이르게하는 물리, 화학적, 기계적 과정을 의미하는 고장기구(failure mechanism)을 조사하게 된다. 전자부품에서 고장이 발생하였을 경우, 1차적인 분석대상은 전극재인데 전극재에 기인한 고장으로는 세라믹스와 전극재 사이의 열팽창계수 차이에 기인한 박리현상(Delamination), 인쇄불량에 의한 단락 및 두께 불량, 세라믹스와 전극재 사이의 반응, 산화에 의한 부식 등이 있다. 이러한 고장은 급격한 주위 환경의 변화에 의한 것보다는 일정수준의 스트레스가 축적되어 발생하며, 수명을 예측하기 위해서는 고장의 원인을 규명하고 그 원인에 의한 가속 시험을 수행하는 것이 일반적인 방법이다. 본 연구에서는 Ag 외부 전극재의 수명을 예측하고자 가속시험을 수행하였고, 고장 분석 통하여 Ag외부 전극재의 특성 및 문제점 등을 정확히 파악하기 위한 연구를 하였다.

  • 다양한 이동통신기기들을 한 시스템에 수렴시킬 수 있는 기술로서 SDR 기술이 각광받고 있다. 본 논문은 W-CDMA 물리계층 업링크의 트래픽 채널을 DSP로 구현하여 베이스밴드 프로세싱 하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이러한 소프트웨어 모뎀은 초기화, 소스 데이터 발생, 스프레딩, 스크램블링, 출력단 등으로 이루어진다. 기존의 FPGA, ASIC 등으로 구현된 하드웨어 모뎀을 소프트웨어적인 DSP로 구현할 때 생기는 주요 문제들을 고찰하였다. 로드 밸런싱, 동시성과 실시간성, 버퍼 스킴, 멀티 태스킹, 인터럽트 관리, OVSF 및 스크램블링 코드의 복소수 연산 등이다. 전통적인 구조는 FPGA와 DSP 혼합체인데 각각 칩레벨 프로세싱, 심볼 프로세싱을 담당한다. FPGA와 DSP 혼합체 구조를 넘어서 멀티 DSP를 이용한 병렬처리기법, 또는 reconfiguable 칩을 개발해서 칩레벨 및 심볼 프로세싱을 한 번에 할 수 있는 개발제품도 출시되었다.

A Study for Vulnerability of Security of the UPnP Home-Networking (UPnP 홈네트워크 보안 취약점에 관한 연구)

  • The UPnP uses the same standard protocol as SSDP and UDP based on standard internet and technology like the TCP/IP, and is independent of other physical networking product. But the structure of the UPnP has the of vulnerability to the security countermeasure for home-networking technology since it is operated on the same protocol as the SSDP and UDP. In this paper, we analyze and report against the DoS attack, where the worm virus, using the vulnerability to the UPnP, eliminates the attack of all equipments that are based on networking and eliminates the information belonging to the equipments of the home-networking or transmits the massive data.

연 잎 구조를 응용한 금속 표면의 발수 특성 개발

  • 최근 발수 특성은 자동차 표면, 건축 구조물, 가전제품 및 모바일 기기 등 여러 분야에서 사용되고 점차 그 필요성이 대두되고 있다. 이러한 발수성의 표면은 연 잎이나 곤충의 날개, 도마뱀의 발바닥 등 자연계의 여러 곳에서 관찰 할 수 있다. 특히 연 잎의 표면에서 나타나는 초발수 특성이 마이크로와 나노 크기의 돌기 구조와 표피 왁스 성분에 기인한다는 것이 밝혀지면서 이를 응용한 다양한 연구가 진행되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 물리적인 표면처리로 마이크로와 나노 구조물을 형성하고 그 위에 표면에너지를 낮출 수 있는 물질을 증착하여, 발수 특성을 가지는 표면을 개발하였다. 알루미늄 표면에 마이크로 크기의 알루미나(Al2O3) 분말을 이용한 블라스트(blast) 공정으로 마이크로 구조를 형성하고, 선형 이온 소스(LIS)를 이용한 Ar 이온 빔 에칭으로 나노 구조를 형성하였다. FE-SEM 분석을 통해 수~수십 마이크로 구조 위에 나노 크기의 구조가 형성 된 것을 관찰하였다. 마이크로와 나노 구조가 형성된 알루미늄의 표면에너지를 낮추기 위해 trimethylsilane (TMS) 및 Ar을 이용한 플라즈마처리로 표면에 기능성 코팅막을 형성하였다. 그 결과 TMS처리 전에 비해 표면에너지가 99.75 mJ/m2에서 9.05 mJ/m2으로 급격히 낮아지고 접촉각이 $54^{\circ}$에서 $123^{\circ}$로 향상되었다.
