In order to clarify the lime-based building method used in the Joseon Dynasty, lime materials, production techniques, and mixing methods recorded in ancient literature were examined. In ancient Joseon Dynasty literature, the use of low grade limestone as a raw material was recorded, and the use of pozzolanic materials such as Hwangtoh, white clay, and roof tile powder as mixing aids to enhance the strength of lime was recorded. In addition, various lime hydration and mixing methods were recorded, and based on re-experiments carried out with regards to this, a physical property evaluation was deemed to be required in accordance with the various types of raw lime materials, lime hydration methods, and mixture ratios. In the early Joseon Dynasty, lime was used for various aspects, but frequent problems were experienced due to lack of supply and poor production techniques. In the late Joseon Dynasty, lime production techniques developed along with mass production. Based on analysis of the manufacturing techniques of Hoegwagmyo lime mortar in the 16th and 18th centuries during the Joseon Dynasty, it was found that mixing ratios and the methods described in the ancient literature had been applied. It was confirmed that the mixing ratio differed depending on mixing materials and lime quality. Since the mixing ratio of Hoegwagmyo lime mortar changed over time and it was produced strictly on the basis of a guidebook, it is believed that if continuous scientific analysis of the Hoegwagmyo lime mortar production method were carried out, this would be helpful for ascertaining the chronological methodology of Hoegwagmyo.
The purpose of this study is to examine the archetype of the Gyeongju Castle walls and the facilities around it to bring together previous studies and identify the specific scale and structure of the archetype. The findings can be summarized as follows. First, we verified the exact location and dimensions of the castle through an over-lay of land registration maps from the Japanese colonial period, land registration maps from the present day, cadastral maps, and excavation records. Second, the dimension of the rampart and fort of the castle were discovered by combining and analyzing historical evidence, modern research data, historical site studies from the Japanese colonial era, and maintenance records. Third, the historical records related to the yeojang (rampart sub-wall) formats in the Joseon Dynasty were used to examine the archetype of the yeojang. This study led to the discovery of the archetype of the Gyeongju castle yeojang in the early stage of King Munjong's reign (1451), and the archetype created after the Japanese Invasion (16th century). And finally, although most of the rampart is not present, the structure of the castle can be estimated based on historical research, and research materials modern and contemporary(excavation conservation field survey). In addition, this study presented a archetype restoration plan for each site, to be used as foundational data for future restoration projects.

With the development of technology, the methods of digitally converting various forms of analog information have become common. As a result, the concept of recording, building, and reproducing data in a virtual space, such as digital heritage and digital reconstruction, has been actively used in the preservation and research of various cultural heritages. However, there are few existing research results that suggest optimal scanners for small and medium-sized relics. In addition, scanner prices are not cheap for researchers to use, so there are not many related studies. The 3D scanner specifications have a great influence on the quality of the 3D model. In particular, since the state of light reflected on the surface of the object varies depending on the type of light source used in the scanner, using a scanner suitable for the characteristics of the object is the way to increase the efficiency of the work. Therefore, this paper conducted a study on nine small and medium-sized buried cultural properties of various materials, including earthenware and porcelain, by period, to examine the differences in quality of the four types of 3D scanners. As a result of the study, optical scanners and small and medium-sized object scanners were the most suitable digital records of the small and medium-sized relics. Optical scanners are excellent in both mesh and texture but have the disadvantage of being very expensive and not portable. The handheld method had the advantage of excellent portability and speed. When considering the results compared to the price, the small and medium-sized object scanner was the best. It was the photo room measurement that was able to obtain the 3D model at the lowest cost. 3D scanning technology can be largely used to produce digital drawings of relics, restore and duplicate cultural properties, and build databases. This study is meaningful in that it contributed to the use of scanners most suitable for buried cultural properties by material and period for the active use of 3D scanning technology in cultural heritage.

This paper is to discover how the photogrammetry method can be utilized for recording modern architectural properties. As a result of conducting photogrammetry aimed at the main building and water supply tower of Goesan Middle School, it was possible to measure actually either complicated patterns or a damaged area on the facade. However, there appeared errors in the actual measurement of the hollow or protruded area on the facade to measure actually or of an object in the cylinder form. First, for the actual measurement of the protruded area, it is possible to complete a facade by measuring actually the protruded area separately after dividing it and complementing it on the facade, Second, concerning an object in the cylinder form, it is possible to complete one facade by matching a facade which is measured actually with a Diaver method among the MSR photogrammetry methods, and three dimensional standard coordinates which are obtained through Totalstation.
The Cultural Heritage Committee is an important organization that has been deliberating on important matters related to the preservation of cultural properties in the Republic of Korea for more than 60 years since 1962. The Cultural Heritage Preservation Committee was active in 1961, which was a short period of about a year, but the minutes prepared at the time confirmed that it had the following meanings. First of all, legally, it was meaningful in that the concept of cultural property or intangible cultural property was used for the first time in Korea in laws and regulations on the term of office of professional members. These matters became the basis for the operation of the current Cultural Heritage Protection Act and the Cultural Heritage Committee. The following confirms that, unlike previously known activities, they were active despite political upheaval at the time. In spite of rapid regime change at the time, the committee had no change in its members, and the meetings continued without interruption. At that time, there was an exclusive relationship between different groups in relation to the preservation of cultural heritage, and this relationship was confirmed by the minutes that disappeared with the establishment of the Cultural Heritage Management Bureau, which integrated these groups. Finally, the form of the minutes prepared then shows the form of documentation at the time, where it is confirmed that the traditional documentation format is changing into a new form. It can be good research material in terms of modern and contemporary bibliography. As discussed earlier, the Cultural Heritage Conservation Committee of 1961 has historical significance in terms of legal and actual activities. The reason why the committee's activities were low valued is presumed to be that the minutes and related documents prepared at the time were not organized well due to the lack of a related administrative system. The minutes of the Cultural Heritage Conservation Committee record various facts about cultural heritage policies and decisions at that time. Therefore, analysis and research on these contents can reveal more facts about the cultural heritage policies and perceptions of that time.

Hayeob pigment is known as one of the traditional dark green pigments, but the color, raw material, and manufacturing method have not been clearly identified. However, comparing the analysis results of the particle shape and constituent minerals of Hayeob pigments revealed through pigment analysis studies of colored cultural properties such as Dancheong, Gwaebul, and paintings, Hayeob pigments appear to be the same as Dongrok pigments produced by salt corrosion. Therefore, in order to restore Hayeob pigment, the manufacturing method of Dongrok pigment was studied based on the records of old literature. The Dongrok pigment manufacturing method confirmed in the old literature records is a natural corrosion method in which copper powder and a caustic are mixed and then left in a humid condition to corrode. Based on this, artificial corrosion using a corrosion tester was adopted to corrode the copper powder more efficiently, and an appropriate mixing ratio was selected by analyzing the state of corrosion products according to the mixing ratio of the caustic agent. In addition, the manufacturing method of Dongrok pigment was established by adding a salt removal process to remove residual caustic agents and a purification process to increase chroma during pigment coloring. The prepared Dongrok pigments have a bluish green or green color, show an elliptical particle shape and a form in which small particles are aggregated, and a porous surface is observed. The main constituent elements are copper(Cu) and chlorine(Cl), and the main constituent mineral is identified as atacamite [Cu2Cl(OH)3]. As a result of an accelerated weathering test to evaluate the stability of the prepared Dongrok pigments, it was found that the greenness partially decreased and the yellowness significantly increased as deterioration progressed. Before deterioration, the Dongrok pigments had lower yellowness compared to the Hayeob pigments of the old Dancheong, but after deterioration, yellowness increased significantly, and it was found to have a similar chromaticity range as Dancheong's Hayeob pigments. As a result, the prepared Dongrok pigments were confirmed to be similar to Dancheong's Hayeob pigments in terms of color as well as particle shape and constituent minerals.

At present, domestic archives within the realm of performing arts predominantly focus on recording through videos, yet they often lack comprehensive documentation of crucial production processes and content services. Recognizing the contemporary significance of archival content services, this study analyzes the archival content within the national performing arts archives websites of the United Kingdom and the United States, serving as international benchmarks. The findings extrapolate insights and implications to propose enhancements for the Museum of Performing Arts in the National Theater of Korea. The analysis focused mainly on the missions and visions on the websites, examining 107 contents from the UK National Theater, 27 from the United States, and 9 from Korea. The suggested improvements encompass clarifying target users and execution tasks in the mission and vision statements, fostering expert collaborations, incorporating preview features, curating content with a single theme, and organizing a comprehensive list on the National Theater's YouTube channel.
This study examines the lives and the performances of the people who participated in Songpa Sandae-nori(a korean traditional mask dance drama) before and after the designation as cultural heritage, and reviews the changes and the inheritance patterns of the mask dance which appeared in the lives of the performers. Chapter 2 reviewed previous debates about the derivational theory and the players of Songpa Sandae-nori before the flood in 1925, and discussed on awareness and the characteristics of the performers found through the review. Then the study went on to the inheritance patterns of the drama before the designation, focusing on the figures of Dolmari(a name of village in Songpa, Seoul) players who led the stage after 1925. As a result, the missing part of the activities and the lives of Dolmari performers have been more clearly identified, especially about Lee Beomman, Yeo taesan and Eum Joongeun(the main performers of Songpa Sandae-nori). Chapter 3 is about the inheritance patterns of the cultural heritage after the designation, and Heo Hoyoung was the main focus of the discussion. The researches so far have admitted his great contributions to the designation of cultural asset, although they have not proved how. After investigating various records and combining the testimonies of his students and locals, Heo Ho-young was found that he did not only gave plays of Songpa Sandae-nori but also actively engaged in the field of various traditional arts. Furthermore, jokes, dances, and masks left by him are considered to be evidences to reassess his performances.
This study is designed to find out the protection system of intangible cultural property as the current national policy and analyze the foundational problems in order to suggest the future vision in a way of transmitting the traditional cultural heritage to the descendants, based on the policy support for the intangible cultural property under the control of Commission for Ibuk 5-do (5 Northern Provinces of Korean peninsula). The research issue is first, the aging of the holders of the important cultural properties in Ibuk 5-do and the overcoming of the incomplete transmission system. The second issue is the protective policy of the transmission from the national perspective and the justification of the government's financial support. The third issue is the development of cultural contents by using the intangible cultural properties in Ibuk 5-do and the suggestion of the creative development for the resourcing of culture. As for the research methods, reference research and analysis on interview data and data from the related entities was done were analyzed and the results were actively adopted. The research results showed the followings to be required; first, the aged holders of the cultural properties shall be treated well and at the same time, the holders recognized to hold the transmission ability shall be dually designated. Second, the training system for the younger generation to keep the traditional cultural heritage shall be established; Third, the educational program and school education shall be extended so that the importance of the transmission of the intangible traditional cultural properties in Ibuk 5-do (northern 5 provinces of Korea) shall be recognized; Fourth, the recording system shall be constructed and its application system shall be required. In the end, in order for such development methods to be implemented effectively, active government support is desperately required.
In this article, I suggest issues and tasks in transmission of Gyeonggi Province folk songs after thorough study of designation of Gyeonggi Province folk songs as intangible cultural asset, reproduction and transmission. Intangible cultural assets are classified into seasonal playing and songs. Originally, category or extension of folk songs is above mere songs and it also embraces personal lives as well as village communities. Intangible assets of folk songs are folk art, group events and non-stage events at the same time based on tradition, history, uniqueness, characters of field value. Gyeonggi Province has 9 intangible assets now because of the revocation of several assets (All Gyeonggi Province, Hwasung, Gwacheon) within five years after initial designation of 13 assets in 1998. They are mostly distributed in the north Gyeonggi region where is close to the DMZ and delay in development seems to have enabled the preservation. Most of the intangible cultural assets are farming songs and weeding which show characteristics of Gyeonggi Province. Most of the designees are who performed excavation, recovery, excluding a few cases without designees on designation, and almost all the designee passed away. Number of cases have been revoked because transmission was not completed or some cases were transmitted to groups rather than specific designees. Subscription concert, the biggest and most representative event, is performed once a year with all of the 9 intangible cultural assets in the original complete forms of the designation. Intangible cultural assets are classified into seasonal playing and songs. In general, current performance of the intangible cultural assets and folk songs are same as the originally designated forms and are not in varied forms other than folk songs like songs for rice-planting and weeding. Funeral songs are transmitted in Yangju and Yangpyeong. In terms of the operation, preservation societies having training centers have been performing more constant activities for preservation including lecture, performance and transmission. Members are quite aged and the societies are suffering from lack of support fund for reproduction and transmission. Problems in reproduction and tasks for the transmission I would like to suggest are like followings. First, preservation and value of the cultural assets. Second, new understanding of designation and revocation of the intangible cultural assets. Third, record of performance and sound source. Fourth, liaison with local communities. Fifth, organization of professional resources and establishment of systematic support and management.
