This study explores the impact of a flipped classroom, in terms of self-efficacy, for elementary pre-service teachers in US teacher education programs. This research project explores how ESL microteaching activity in the flipped classroom shapes teacher-candidates' self-efficacy regarding teaching culturally and linguistically diverse (CLD) students. By analyzing ESL microteaching videos, pre-service teachers' reflection papers, and individual interviews with the course instructors, the study results show how pre-service teachers enhance their self-efficacy in teaching CLD English language learners in mainstream content subject classrooms. Moreover, the researchers provide suggestions on how teacher educators can utilize the flipped classroom to create an authentic and meaningful learning experience, such as using ESL microteaching for pre-service teachers to shape their self-efficacy in order to be well-prepared for CLD English language learners. The implication is that Korean pre-service teachers should be prepared to teach CLD students in their mainstream classrooms.

해외를 배경으로 씌어진 소설들이 연이어 출간되고 있다. 과거에 외국을 무대로 한 몇몇 소설들이 특정 국가에 집중적인 관심을 보였던 것과는 달리 근래에는 그 배경 공간이 세계 전역에 걸쳐 있어 소설의 무대 자체가 광범위해지고 있음을 보여준다.

여행중 찍은 사진을 편집, 배경음악을 넣어 CD로 보관해둔다. 배경음악이 사진속의 추억을 더욱 새롭게 해준다. 마음속 등불 같은 음악은 여인에게 고백할때나분위기를 돋울때 마음속 징검다리와 같다.

Game environment, game map and background graphic design is very important elements and factors that support fun, look & feel, immersion and player's acting fields. In this paper we defined elements of game background environment. And then make an investigation and refer to sundry records and books, we described elements of periodic environments, historic environments, natural environments, artificial environments, cultural environments, virtual environments, weather environments. Especially, the study suggests the model of game environment desgin to apply game map and game background graphic design.

This paper reveals the double meaning of the temporal background and spatial background on Shimchungga. Its temporal background is the fictional and romantic time of the story, while the time of the weary lives of ordinary people is realistic and historical in the late Joseon Dynasty. The spatial background has a dual meaning that reminds us of the ancient capital of China and Seoul of the Joseon Dynasty. Namgyeong, a spatial background is fictional and romantic where the daughter of the public, Simcheong, becomes "The mother of all the people." In addition, Namgyeong reminds us of Seoul, the capital of Joseon Dynasty. Shimchungga is based on the customs and manners of the late Joseon Dynasty, and it is embodied by borrowing time and space from China. It is recalled Joseon's as backgrounds of China First of all, Namgyeong on Shimchungga is the ultimate attraction of the free imagination of the ordinary people as well as Shin, Jae-hyo in the late Joseon Dynasty.

This study analyzed Korean children's books that include ethnically and racially diverse characters, focusing on representation of ethnic minority and cultural sensitivity. Drawing from fiction recommendations by Happy Morning Reading from 2005 to 2017, only 32 books out of 3,214 books, less than 1%, include people with racially and ethnically diverse background. Among the 32 books, 23 featured educative messages inspired by the belief of social justice; four could be categorized as so-called 'melting pot' books, five depicted stories featuring characters that respect different cultures from their own. The issue tackled in the stories differed with the economical standing of the character's country of origin. When a character or her/his parent is from a developing country, the main issues of the book were racial discrimination, bullying, hostility against foreign-born parents, or harsh experience of migrant workers. On the other hand, when a character or her/his parent is from a developed country, the plots often surround the character's hopes, wishes, or personal worries. Only one book was illustrated by a person with immigration background; the others were all written and illustrated by Koreans with no immigration background.
