This study addreses the design and implrmentation of korean SGML(Standard Generalized Markup Langu-age)editor capable of ggenerating DTD(Document Type Definition)s,which can be used at the same time to gen-erate HTML documents as well] as SGML documents using interactive method.HTML is an appkication of SGML and HTML DTD is defined according to the syntax of SGML.Therefore it is possible to generate HTML documents of any versions by replacing the corresponding DTDs and using the implemented editor.This system has been implemented using GUI such as Motif and UIL(User Interface Language)in X-window system and C-language for common modules of functions.

XML은 SGML의 사용을 보다 쉽고 간단하게 하기 위해 고안되었다. 즉, 문서타입들의 정의를 쉽게 하고 SGML로 정의된 문서들의 저작과 관리를 용이하게 하고, 그것들을 웹상에서 쉽게 전달하고 공유하기 위해 고안된 것이다. 그러한 특성으로 인해 XML이 많은 애플리케이션에서 사용됨에 따라 문서의 효율적인 관리와 저장기법이 요구된다. 이를 위해 본 논문에서는 XML 문서가 가지는 성질인 문서의 구조와 내용을 분리하여 현재 산업계에서 대표적인 데이터베이스인 관계형 데이터베이스에 저장할 수 있는 방안을 제시한다.

This papar describes an design and implementation of a rule builder, named SGML DTD(Document Type Definition) Editor conforming to ISO 8879(SGML : Standard Generalized Markup Language). SGML DTD define types of logical structure in documents and it is very hard to managing, operating with general common text editors because of it's complex structures. Therefore, We studied DTD automatic editor and production system, prototype system, direct operations on graphic trees in the environment of windows. It's easy to handle with general users. So, We analyzed the structures of document, and studied about SGML documents operation models. And also described logical structures by tree on Windows.

Recently, XML is emerging as a web document standard and researches on storing and querying XML documents using existing RDBMS are actively in progress. In this paper, we propose a method that enables users to view and use XML documents like a relational table by extending concept of RDBMS's SQL view and. table function. In our approach, XML documents are existed independently of RDBMS and users can register relational schema of necessary part of XML document by using XML-View definition statement. Registered XML-View can be queried by SQL, and XML -table function is internally used so that XML - View can be accessed and used like a relational table. The proposed method enables users to access XML documents by providing the XML- View definition syntax and the table-function for existing RDBMS. Also, when schema modification for XML is needed, user can handle by modification of the XML- View definition.

본 논문에서는 분산된 XML 문서를 수집 처리하여 상호 제공하는 과정에서 활용될 통합된 XML 문서의 전역 스키마를 생성하는 시스템을 제안한다. 제안된 시스템에서는 분산 환경에 존재하는 개별적인 XML 문서들에 대한 지역 스키마 정보를 관계형 데이터베이스로 구축하고, 통합된 XML 문서의 데이터를 기반으로 각각의 지역 스키마 데이터베이스를 검색한 후 데이터에 적합한 스키마 정의를 추출하게 된다. 또한 추출과정에서 중복 정의에 의한 충돌 범주를 분석하고, 이를 해결하는 방법도 제시하였다. 시스템 모델링 결과 XML 문서의 구조와 검증을 명확하게 보장하는 통합된 XHL 문서의 전역 스키마 생성과 지역 스키마간 발생되는 충돌문제 해결이 가능함을 알 수 있었다.

XML을 이용하여 다른 조직이나 사용자간에 원활한 데이터 교환과 사용을 위해서는 공통적으로 사용할 수 있는 태그나 용어가 표준화되어야 한다. 현재 군 교범(야전교범 및 기술교범)을 XML을 이용하여 개발하려 노력하고 있으나, 사전연구가 미홉하고 표준이 정해지지 않은 상태에서 각 개별 기관별로 문서구조를 정의하고 태그를 사용함으로써 상호 호환성의 결여 및 차후 변환을 위한 낭비적 요소가 우려된다. 따라서 군 내부에서 XML을 적용한 문서 유형별 표준화가 시급히 요구되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 교범에 대한 XML 문서형정의를 설계하고 국방 표준 교범 XML DTD를 제안한다. 표준으로서의 문서형정의는 전자도서관에서 전문을 구축하는데 이용한 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 대화형 전자식 매뉴얼 구축에 기여할 수 있다.

데이터로서 XML의 의미가 중요해짐에 따라 XML 문서를 저장하는 방법들에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 그 중 하나가 스키마를 이용하여 XML 문서를 관계형 데이터베이스에 저장하는 것으로서, 지금까지 DTD를 중심으로 연구가 이루어져 왔으나, XML 스키마의 등장으로 DTD의 단점을 보완하고, 기존 관계형 데이터베이스와 보다 유사하게 표현 할 수 있게 되었다. 본 논문에서는 XML 스키마에서 관계형 스키마를 추출하는 기법을 제시한다. 제시된 기법은 DTD에서 관계형 스키마를 추출하는 기법을 기반으로 하여, DTD에서 표현할 수 없는 사용자 정의 데이터형을 추가로 제공하는 등, XML 스키마의 속성과 요소에 따른 여러 특성을 표현할 수 있다.

본 논문에서는 인터넷상에서 구조화된 전자문서를 표현하고 처리하기 위한 표준으로 사용되는 XML을 활용하여 문서형 정의(DTD)를 설계하고 DTD에 의한 템플리트 작성 및 한글 워드프로세서 마크업 언어(HWPML)로 문서 변환 등 XML 기반의 문서 변환 시스템에 대한 기술 분석을 설명하였다.
