  • The purpose of the present study was to investigate the effects of self-regulated neurofeedback training on elementary school students' recall and recognition performance. For this purpose, the participants were randomly allocated to control condition where no training was provided or training condition where participants were trained in 4 self-regulated neurofeedback training sessions. As the dependent measures, correct free, recall rates and correct recognition rates were analyzed. The results showed that overall scores of recall and recognition were enhanced by the administration of the training itself, and as the training sessions advanced. In particular, the effect of the training seemed to induce more positive effect on the both memory tasks when the task difficulty (manipulated by increasing the number of target words) was increased. These results implied that self-regulated neurofeedback training can induce increased recollection ability for words by enhancing attentional process.

  • Along with advanced vehicle to vehicle (V2V) communication technologies, platooning is regarded as one of the most promising form of autonomous driving solutions in order to increase road capacity. In this paper, we propose a novel V2V transmission scheme for safety message dissemination in platooning. The proposed scheme enhances the efficiency of channel access and multi-vehicle orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) transmission by taking advantage of triggered uplink access technique and null data packet feedback report protocol introduced in the sixth generation WLAN standard, IEEE 802.11ax. The simulation results prove that the proposed scheme outperforms the conventional IEEE 802.11 transmission scheme throughout all measured vehicle density range.

  • A variety of studies for indoor positioning are now being in progress due to the limit of GPS that becomes obsolete in the room. However, most of them are based on private wireless networks and the situation is difficult to commercialize them since they are expensive in terms of installation and maintenance costs, non-real-time, and not accurate. This paper applies the mark recognition algorithm used in existing augmented reality applications to the indoor vehicle positioning application. It installs floor marks on the ground, performs the perspective transformation on it and decodes the internal data of the mark and, as a result, it obtains an absolute coordinate. Through the geometric analysis, it obtains current position (relative coordinates) of a vehicle away from the mark and the heading direction of the vehicle. The experiment results show that when installing the marks every 5 meter, an error under about 30 cm occurred. In addition, it is also shown that the mark recognition rate is 43.2% of 20 frames per second at the vehicle speed of 20km/h. Thus, it is thought that this idea is commercially valuable.

  • Secondary users should sense the licensed spectrum bands in order to protect the primary users from interference. However, periodic and frequent sensing for immediate detection of primary users usually gives rise to much sensing overhead, and thus will quickly drain the battery as well as deteriorate the performance of a secondary user. To overcome such problems, we focus on the method reducing sensing overhead of each secondary user and propose a distributed fair sensing scheme that the multiple users within a certain area, so-called sensing zone, sense the spectrum bands in a fairly distributed manner and share the results among the users within respective sensing zone. The design of the frame structure for the proposal is also demonstrated while considering the sensing requirements for protecting primary users. The performance results by numerical analyses and computer simulations show that our proposed sensing scheme significantly reduces the sensing overhead of each user compared to the conventional sensing scheme and also satisfies the given sensing requirements for primary user protection.

  • This paper presents an algorithm for the path-finding problem in unknown environments with cooperative and commutative multi-robots. To verify the algorithm, we investigate the problem of escaping through the exit of a randomly generated maze by muti-robots. For the purpose, we adopt the so called frontier cells and cell utility functions, which were used in the exploration problem for the multi-robots. For the wireless communications among the mobile robots, we modify and utilize the so called the random basket routing, a kind of hop-by-hop opportunistic routing. A mobile robot, once it finds the exit, will choose its next action, either escape immediately or stay-and-relay the exit information for the others, where the robot takes one action based on a given probability. We investigate the optimal probability that minimizes the average escaping time (out of the maze to the exit) of a mobile robot.

  • This study classified the various quality features of coffee shop by Kano model with customers' perspective. Also both satisfaction coefficient and dissatisfaction coefficient are calculated to analyse the relative influence of quality features on customer satisfaction. This study also dragged the potential customer satisfaction improvement index to scrutinize the quality improvement possibility for coffee shops. The analysis results showed that low price, luxurious interior, restfulness of table and chair, usability of wireless internet are belonged to the Attractive quality. On the other hand, cleanliness and hygiene, quality to price are identified as the One-dimensional quality. The current satisfaction level for both 'Caffe Bene' and 'Starbucks' are measured to draw the potential customer satisfaction improvement index. The result showed that low price and quality to price appeared to be the highest in its quality improvement possibility. The findings of this study help understanding the quality features to focus on and strengthening the competitiveness for coffee shops.

  • Cooperative spectrum sensing can improve sensing reliability, compared with single node spectrum sensing. In addition, Eigenvalue-based spectrum sensing has also drawn a great attention due to its performance improvement over the energy detection method in which the more smoothing factor, the better performance is achieved. However, the more smoothing factor in Eignevalue-based spectrum sensing requires the more sensing time. Furthermore, more reporting time in cooperative sensing will be required as the number of nodes increases. Subsequently, we in this paper propose an Eigenvalue and superposition-based spectrum sensing where the reporting time is utilized so as to increase the number of smoothing factors for autocorrelation calculation. Simulation result demonstrates that the proposed scheme has better detection probability in both local as well as global detection while requiring less sensing time as compared with conventional Eigenvalue-based detection scheme.

  • As VoIP systems move to wireless environments with much higher average packet loss rates than wired networks, it becomes less possible for the network to assure a reasonable QoS. So, real-time quality monitoring for mobile VoIP applications is an important issue to be explored. In this paper, we explore perceptual quality dependency on two parameters: the burst loss rate and average burst length. Also, we propose a simple 'moving average' approach with $\alpha$ aiming to measure those parameters on real-time basis. In order to find how accurately the two parameters measured estimate the real perceptual quality, we compare actual measured PESQ scores with estimated value by matching the measured quality metric to the trained MOS table. Finally, we propose the quality-based accounting system, which can set obvious continuities between quality and billing.

The maintain system is received the result of distinction via UWB reader. This system send a information of ship of docking position to user. Thus it suggests the safety to prevent from crash among ships and saves energy and stop waste. The proposed system periodically updates the information of docking position of the ship and monitors in real-time according to the user's request from personal mobile devices. In this paper, we implement of a guidance system Testbed for docking of the ship using position UWB sensor. And user is provided convenience to find easily user's ship in docking area through user interface with Java. Addedly it is possible to prevent ship theft.

  • In this paper, we present a design and implementation of three dimensional pointing device using Inertial Navigation System(INS) that acquires coordinates and location information without environmental dependancy. The INS measures coordinates based on the data from gyroscope and accelerometer and corrects the measured data from accelerometer using Kalman-Filter. In order to implement the idea of three dimensional pointing device, we choose a three dimensional Space-recognition mouse and use RFIC wireless communication to send a measured data to receiver for printing out the coordinate on display equipment. Based on INS and Kalman-Filter theoretical knowledge, we design and implement a three dimensional pointing device and verified the usability as an input device that can capture a human's move. also, we describe the applicability of this device in ubiquitous computing environment.
