Estimation of Ultimate Bearing Capacity for Randomly Installed Granular Compaction Pile Group (임의의 배치형태로 설치된 무리형태의 조립토 다짐말뚝에 대한 극한지지력의 평가)

  • Granular compaction piles increase the load bearing capacity of the soft ground and reduce the settlement of fecundation built on the reinforced soil. Also the granular compaction piles accelerate the consolidation of soft ground using the granular materials such as sand, gravel, stone etc. However, this method is one of unuseful methods in Korea. In the present study, the estimation procedure for the ultimate bearing capacity of randomly installed granular compaction pile group is proposed. Also, carbon rod tests have been peformed for verifying the group effect of granular compaction piles and the behavior characteristics such as bulging failure zone on granular compaction piles. From the test results, it is found that bulging failure shape of granular compaction piles was conical shape and the ultimate bearing capacity increased as the spacing of piles became gradually narrow. Also, from the proposed method in this study, the optimal locations of granular compaction piles with various installed cases are analyzed. The results were shown that the bearing capacity was increased in the case concentrated on the central part of pile group.

Behavior of Pile Groups in Granite Soil Under Lateral Loading (화강풍화토에서 수평력을 받는 무리말뚝의 거동)

  • In this study, three dimensional numerical analyses were performed with variation of pile spacing (S=3D, 4D, 5D) to compare the behaviour of single pile and pile group with cap in granite soil. In order to compare and analyze the lateral resistance of single pile and pile group by changing pile spacing, the pile group with array of $1{\times}3$ was employed. To reduce the computation time the symmetric boundary condition was used. And Druker-Prager model and elasticity model were used for granite soil and for concrete pile and cap, respectively. Using the analyses results of pile group in granite soil under lateral loading, p-y curve for pile group and single pile with changing pile spacing was drawn. With p-y curve p-multiplier was evaluated. As a result of analysis, the value of p-multiplier was increased with increasing pile spacing under 1.0 due to pile shadow effects.

Characteristics of Distribution Ratio for Skin Friction in Group Piles (무리말뚝의 주면마찰력 분담비율 특성)

  • H-pile can be more easily driven than pipe pile by pile driver and shows high skin friction and plugging effect. This experimental study was devoted to investigate skin friction of H group piles in granite soil under laboratory test. Pile arrangements $(1{\times}2,\;1{\times}3,\;2{\times}2,\;2{\times}3,\;3{\times}3)$, pile space (2D,4D,6D), and soil density $(D_r=40%,\;80%)$ were tested. The main results obtained from the model tests can be summarized as follows. Distribution ratio of skin friction for total load decreased by $48{\sim}39%$ (dense soil), $32{sim}27%$ (loose soil) as piles space ratio increases in case of $3{\times}3$ group piles. And the distribution ratio of skin friction by pile settlements under loose soil decreased by about $58{\sim}33.2%$ in $2{\times}2$ group piles and about $65{\sim}38%$ in $3{\times}3$ group piles respectively.

  • This paper proposes an algorithm to improve the performance of the spatial partitioning method for flocking behaviors. The core concept is to improve the performance by using the fact that even if a moving entity, boid in flock continuously changes its direction and position, its k-nearest neighbors, kNN to effect on decision of the next direction is not changed frequently. From the previous kNN, the method to check whether new kNN is changed or not is proposed in this paper and then the correctness of the proposed method is proved by two theorems. The proposed algorithm was implemented and its performance was compared with the conventional spatial partitioning method. The results of the comparison show that the proposed algorithm outperforms the conventional one by about 30% with respect to the number of frames per a second.

An Efficient Flocking Behaviors for Large Flocks by Using Representative Boid (대표 보이드를 이용한 대규모 무리의 효율적인 무리짓기)

  • This paper proposes an algorithm for efficient behaviors of boids which freely move and have no predefined position. By finding the kNN and computing the value of behavioral characteristic of a boid approximately, the proposed algorithm improves the conventional spatial partitioning one. To do this, this paper defines and uses the representative boid which has the average direction and position for a group of boids. The proposed algorithm was implemented and compared with the conventional one experimentally. The results of the experimental comparisons show that the proposed algorithm outperforms the conventional one about $-5{\sim}130%$ in terms of the ratio of the number of rendering frames per the second.

  • 어떤 구충제든 1회 복용으로 완전 구충을 기대하는 것은 무리이며, 여러 종류의 기생충이 혼합 감염되어 있을 때 이들 모두를 한꺼번에 몰아낸다는 것은 곤란하다. 따라서 1차복용 후 재검사로 구충효과를 평가하는 것이 현명하다. 기생충증은 많은 경우 감염되었다는 사실을 모르고 지내기도 하며, 알면서도 대수롭지 않게 여겨 버리기도 하나 선진국 대열에 진입하는 나라의 국민으로서 그리고 올림픽경기를 개최하는 나라의 국민으로서 금년 1988년의 봄철에는 모두가 구충에 대한 계획을 세우고 적극적으로 참여하였으면 싶은 심정 간절하다.

피동형 격납건물 냉각계통 내 돔 효과의 수치적 해석에 관한 연구

  • 실제의 격납건물의 구조는 하부 원통형의 구조를 가지는 영역과 상부 돔 형태와 굴뚝 형태의 구조를 가지는 영역으로 나눌 수 있다. 하부 원통형의 구조만을 고려한다면, 고온의 철제 벽면과 콘크리트 벽면 사이의 gap 크기에 비해서 원통의 반지름이 상대적으로 매우 큰 값을 가지기 때문에 2차원 무한평판으로 가정하는 것이 가능하다. 그러나 돔 및 굴뚝 영역에서는 높이가 높아질수록 돔 단면직경이 감소하고 굴뚝 영역도 유동단면적이 작은 원통의 구조를 가져 2차원 무한평판의 가정에 많은 무리가 따른다. 앞에서 명시한 세 가지의 격납건물 형태에 있어서 ASPWR의 경우는 굴뚝을 포함한 영역까지도 무한평판으로 가정하는 것이 가능하나(돔에서의 열전달 단면적이 하부의 열전달 단면적에 비해 매우 작다는 가정을 한다면) 나머지 AP600과 HWRF의 격납건물에 있어서는 상부까지도 무한평판 가정을 사용하는 것에는 무리가 있다. 본 연구에서는 일반적인 유체해석 코드인 FLUENT V4.3을 이용하여 실제 격납건물 구조에 대한 분석을 시도하여 무한평판 구조에 대한 가정이 과도한 열전달량을 예측하고 있음을 확인하였다.

Bond Strength of Near Surface-Mounted FRP Plate in Concrete Corresponding to Space and Bond Length (콘크리트에 표면매입 보강된 FRP판의 매입간격과 길이에 따른 부착강도)

  • Recently, experimental and analytical researches have been performed in order to find interface failure between FRP plate and concrete in near surface-mounted (NSM) retrofit using FRP plate. As a result, it was found that the bond strength between concrete and NSM FRP plate had a close relationship with shape of FRP, concrete compressive strength and bond length. However, research need is increasing about another factors such as suitable space of FRP plate and group effect. In this study, therefore, a bond test was performed with aforementioned factors and compared with a previous equation to verify its suitability for predicting bond strength of NSM FRP plate. From the test, it was found that the bond strength increased according to the increase of space of NSM FRP plates even if its bond length was same. The splitting failure of concrete governed when space of FRPs was too narrow and it changed to FRP's tensile failure with increase of the space. From the evaluation of test specimens using previous equation, it was found that the bond strength could be predicted properly with consideration of group effect.
