Kentucky bluegrass (Poa pratensis) is most widely used in golf courses and athletic fields. Weakness of Kentucky bluegrass is shallow root zone and has weak tolerance to shade. One of the biggest disadvantages is high demand of water. Water content is important factor to maintain excellent color and quality of turfgrass. There are two irrigation methods which are 'deep and infrequent (DI)' and 'Light and frequent (LI)'. The objective of the study is to investigate Kentucky bluegrass growth treated by different irrigation frequency. Three irrigation frequency were made; no irrigation, every other day, and weekly. The same amount of water was used between every other day and weekly irrigation except no irrigation. No irrigation mean no artificial water supply and precipitation only. No irrigation treatment produced turfgrass quality lower than acceptable rating of six in July and August. Under the weather condition of 2011, no irrigation could not maintained acceptable turfgrass quality. No significant differences were found for Kentucky bluegrass quality between DI and LI.

For procuring more sensitive information and estimating stratum target population proportion as well as an overall one form a sensitive population composed of several strata we suggest a two-stage stratified unrelated question model that uses stratified random sampling instead of simple random sampling in the two-stage unrelated question model by Kim et al. (1992) and extend it to the three-stage stratified unrelated question model. We also deal with the proportional and optimal allocation problems in each suggested model, compare the relative efficiency of the suggested two models, and show that the three-stage stratified unrelated question model is more efficient than the two-stage one in view of the variance.

This study examined the growth of herb plants in response to irrigation on a green rooftop area in order to select herb plants that can be used for rooftop greening. Apple Mint (Mentha suaveolens), Lemon balm (Melissa officinalis), Spearmint (Mentha spicata), Pineapple sage (Salvia elegans), Choco Mint (Mentha ${\times}$ piperita 'Choco Mint'), Ox-eye Daisy (Chrysanthemum leucanthemum), Roman Chamomile (Anthemis nobilis) and Thyme (Thymus vulgaris) showed increased growth when irrigated. Conversely, Lavender (Lavendula angustifolia ), Peppermint (Mentha ${\times}$ piperita ), Vicks Plant (Plectranthus tomentosa), Feverfew (Tanacetum parthenium), Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis), Tansy (Tanacetum vulgare), Lemon Verbena (Aloysia triphylla), Heliotrope (Heliotropium arborescens), Soapwort (Saponaria officinalis) and Lady's mantle (Alchemilla vulgaris) demonstrated satisfactory growth regardless of irrigation. Peppermint, Tansy, Lemon Verbena, Soapwort, and Lady's mantle seem to be suitable for green rooftop because of their overwintering ability and drought hardiness. Pineapple sage, Apple Mint and Thyme would seem to be inappropriate for rooftop greening because they showed negative growth response to drought and failed overwintering. Although Spearmint, Lemon balm, Choco Mint, Ox-eye Daisy and Roman Chamomile had reduced growth during dry conditions, they were able to overwinter satisfactorily and can be used as rooftop plants with irrigation.
We augment an unrelated quantitative attribute to Bar-Lev et al.'s model (2004) which is composed of sensitive quantitative variable and scrambled one to present a multiplicative unrelated quantitative randomized response model(MUQ RRM). We also establish theoretical grounds to estimate the sensitive quantitative attribute according to circumstances irrespective of known or unknown unrelated quantitative attribute. Finally, we explore the relationship among the suggested model, Eichhorn-Hayre model, Bar-Lev et al.'s model and Gjestvang-Singh's model, and compare the efficiency of our model with Bar-Lev et al.'s model.
The main objective of this paper is to vindicate the Bayesian belief updating rule, i.e. conditionalization. For this purpose, I introduce first what I call Irrelevance Principle, and show that this principle is equivalent to conditionalization. In turn, the principle is vindicated by means of Bayesian confirmation theory. That is, I suggest some theses that Bayesian confirmation theorists should accept, and prove that if Irrelevance Principle is violated, the theses cannot holds.

Influences of shading and irrigation in summer hot pepper cultivation on the plant growth and mesophyll tissue were investigated. Hot pepper plants were exposed to three shade levels (0, $30{\pm}5$ and $80{\pm}5%$) and irrigated or non-irrigated in greenhouse condition. Plant height and leaf area were highest in 30% shading and stem diameter and fresh and dry weights were highest in no shading. Plant growth was better in rain shelters with irrigation than in those without irrigation. The numbers of hot pepper fruits in the beginning of harvest were 49 in rain shelters without irrigation and shading, 22 in those with irrigation and without shading, 5 in those without irrigation with 30% shading, and 1 in those with irrigation and 30% shading. However, 80% shading showed lowest flower number and flower abscission, resulting in no fruit set, regardless of irritation. This is because carbohydrate translocation from leaves to reproductive organs may be not enough for developing fruits due to the lack of sunlight. The yield of hot pepper tended to be higher in rain shelter with irrigation than in those without irrigation. In optical microscopy observation, the thickness and development of mesophyll tissues decreased as increasing the degree of shading but no effect of irrigation on mesophyll tissues was observed. When stomata were observed with scanning electron microscope (SEM), the shape of stomata was normal but tissues surrounding stomata were slightly wrinkled in plants grown under 30% shading. The large number of abnormal stomata and wrinkled leaves was observed among plants grown in rain shelters with 80% shading. In plants grown in rain shelters without irrigation, tissues surrounding stomata were wrinkled and 10-20% decrease in the number of stomata was observed. Therefore, in hot pepper cultivation in summer with high temperature, shading was not effective for fruit yield and mesophyll tissue development; if shading is unavoidable, high degree of shading is not advisable. Further studies are needed for appropriate cultivar selection and environment-control techniques in hot pepper cultivation in summer with high temperature.
We apply stratified cluster sampling to a replicated systematic unrelated question model for a large scale survey in which the population is comprised of several strata developed by several clusters and with sensitive parameters. We first present a replicated systematic unrelated question model using an unrelated question model to procure sensitive information from the population of clusters and then develop a suggested model to an unrelated question by a stratified cluster replicated systematic sampling that can be used in large population of strata. We cover the proportional and optimum allocation for the suggested model. Finally, we compare and analyze the efficiency of the suggested model with the replicated systematic unrelated question model.

This study was carried out to investigate the effects of C. japonica, D. morbifera, D. macropodum, I. anisatum, Q. glauca and R. indica To investigate the photosynthetic ability, chlorophyll content, chlorophyll fluorescence analysis, and physiological environmental. The photosynthetic rate, cancer respiration rate, stomatal conductance, and rate of evaporation tended to decrease as a result of drying stress in the no-water condition for 28 days. I. anisatum, Q. glauca and R. indica showed a low rate of less than 40% until 28 days of no-treatment. The total chlorophyll contents were decreased in the order of D. macropodum> D. morbifera> C. japonica> Q. glauca> M. thunbergii> R. indica> I. anisatum. Chlorophyll fluorescence analysis showed that there was no change in the qP, but after 28 days no $Fv/F_m$, $F_o$, $R_{fd}$, $NPQ_{_-LSS}$ can be a useful indicator for quantitative estimation within a short period of time with a marked reduction rate of PSII quantum yield ${\Phi}PSII$ in the rectified state by continuous light during the nominal adaptation period. In the case of I. anisatum, Q. glauca and R. indica If water management can be carried out at intervals, it may be possible to plant trees in trees and landscape trees.
To study the effects of irrigation on the mulberry, 3 experiments were conducted. In experiment 1, four treatments, conventional (no irregation), drip irrigation, fertigation and fertigation with 20% extra fertilizer were examined. Irrigation hose was hurried at 20cm depth under the surface (Experiment 1). Water potential was controled at 0.1, 0.2, 0.5 and 1.0 bar to understand the optimum irrigation potential under rain-block system with plastic film hose(experiment 2). Five leading mulberry varieties, Cheongilppong, Youngcheonppong, Suseongppong, Kaeryangppong and Shinilppong were examined for irrigation response(experiment 3). Fertigation and fertigation with extra fefilizer increased yield by 22%, repectively compared with conventional. Irrigation increased by 8%, but with no significance statistically compared with the conventional. Irrigation, especially fertigation increased water content, P$_2$O$_{5}$, $K_2$O and CaO in leaves, suggested improving leaf quality in fall. Fertigation increased available P$_2$O$_{5}$ content in the sub-soil. More root distribution showed at the sub-soil in fertigation. Weed did not occured in fertigation due to sub-soil fertilization, whereas the conventional received surface fertilization showed 931kg/10 a weed in fresh weight. No effect showed at the 20% extra fertilizer than the conventional amount Maximun yield showed at the 0.5 bar water potential. Irrigation increased yield by 22-25% with Cheongilppong and Yongcheonppong, and by 9-13% with Suseongppong, Shinilppong and Kaeryangppong.
