Pronunciation Variation Modeling for Korean Point-of-Interest Data Using Prosodic Information (운율 정보를 이용한 한국어 위치 정보 데이타의 발음 모델링)

  • This paper examines how the performance of an automatic speech recognizer was improved for Korean Point-of-Interest (POI) data by modeling pronunciation variation using structural prosodic information such as prosodic words and syllable length. First, multiple pronunciation variants are generated using prosodic words given that each POI word can be broken down into prosodic words. And the cross-prosodic-word variations were modeled considering the syllable length of word. A total of 81 experiments were conducted using 9 test sets (3 baseline and 6 proposed) on 9 trained sets (3 baseline, 6 proposed). The results show: (i) the performance was improved when the pronunciation lexica were generated using prosodic words; (ii) the best performance was achieved when the maximum number of variants was constrained to 3 based on the syllable length; and (iii) compared to the baseline word error rate (WER) of 4.63%, a maximum of 8.4% in WER reduction was achieved when both prosodic words and syllable length were considered.

The Ecological Modeling for Estimation of Carrying Capacity in Masan Bay in 2002 summer (2002년 하계 마산만의 수질개선을 위한 환경용량산정 모델링)

  • This study focused on coastal water quality response to land-based and sediment pollution loads and estimation of the carrying capacity in Masan Bay using an ecological model with the data in summer of 2002. A residual current was simulated to have a slightly complicated pattern with ranging from 0.1 to 1.5 cm/s. In Masan Bay, pollutant materials cannot flow from the inner to the outer bay easily because of residual currents flow southward at surface and northward at the bottom. The simulation results of COD distribution showed high concentrations over 3 mg/L in the inner part of Masan Bay related pollutant discharge. For improvement seawater quality grade I in Masan Bay, it is necessary to reduce the organic and inorganic loads from point sources by more than 80%. For improvement seawater quality grade II, it is necessary to reduce the organic and inorganic loads from point sources by more than 50% and ameliorate severe polluted sediment. The carrying capacity for COD is 2.32 ton/day and 7.16 ton/day for each grade.

Use Case Identification Method based on Goal oriented Requirements Engineering(GoRE) (Goal 지향 요구공학 기반의 유스케이스 식별 방법)

  • Our previous research[1] suggested object extraction and modeling method based on Fillmore's case grammar. This approach had not considered of use case extraction and method. To solve this problem, we adopt Fillmore's semantic method as linguistic approach into requirement engineering, which refine fillmore's case grammar for extracting and modeling use cases from customer requirements. This Refined mechanism includes the definition of a structured procedure and the representation of visual notations for 'case' modeling. This paper also proposes the use case decision matrix to identify use case size from extracted use cases based on goal oriented requirement engineering(GoRE), which related with the complexity of use case, and also prioritizes the use cases with this matrix. It demonstrates our proposal with the bank ATM system.

  • A LIDAR can rapidly generate 3D points by densely sampling the surfaces of targets using laser pulses, which has been efficiently utilized to reconstruct 3D models of the targets automatically. Due to this advantage, LIDARs are increasingly applied to the fields of Defense and Security, for examples, being employed to intelligently guided missiles and manned/unmanned reconnaissance planes. For the prior verification of the LIDAR applicability, this study aims at generating simulated LIDAR data. Here, we derived the sensor equation by modelling the geometric relationships between the LIDAR sub-modules, such as GPS, IMU, LS and the systematic errors associated with them. Based on this equation, we developed a program to generate simulated data with the system parameters, the systematic errors, the flight trajectories and attitudes, and the reference terrain model given. This program had been applied to generating simulated LIDAR data for urban areas. By analyzing these simulated data, we verified the accuracy and usefulness of the simulation. The simulator developed in this study will provide economically various test data required for the development of application algorithms and contribute to the optimal establishment of the flight and system parameters.

  • A new approach to systematically model aerodynamic coefficients using an adaptive sampling based wind tunnel testing considering cost is proposed. The Latin Hypercube design is used for selecting initial test points. The Gaussian Process (GP) is iteratively used during the experiment to determine additional experimental points that minimizes the uncertainty reduction per incremental cost. A numerical simulation based experiment was conducted using the static aerodynamic coefficient database a fighter aircraft, which demonstrated the validity of the proposed method.

  • The Topic Modeling research, the methodology for deduction keyword within literature, has become active with the explosion of data from digital society transition. The research objective is to investigate research trends in D.N.A.(Data, Network, Artificial Intelligence) field using DTM(Dynamic Topic Model). DTM model was applied to the 1,519 of research projects with SW·A.I technology classifications among ICT(Information and Communication Technology) field projects between 6 years(2015~2020). As a result, technology keyword for D.N.A. field; Big data, Cloud, Artificial Intelligence, extended keyword; Unstructured, Edge Computing, Learning, Recognition was appeared every year, and accordingly that the above technology is being researched inclusively from other projects can be inferred. Finally, it is expected that the result from this paper become useful for future policy·R&D planning and corporation's technology·marketing strategy.

Requirements Redundancy and Inconsistency Analysis for Use Case Modeling (유스케이스 모델링을 위한 요구사항 중복 및 불일치 분석)

  • This paper proposes an effective method to create logically consistent and structured requirement model by applying consistency control approach of the formal method to the use-case modeling. This method integrates the multi-perspective scattered requirement segments that may overlap and conflict each other into a structured requirement model. The model structure can be analyzed based on context goal and concerned area overlap analysis. The model consistency can be achieved by using specification overlap-based consistency checking method as an integration vehicle. An experimental application to case study shows that the Proposed method can successfully identify requirement overlaps and inconsistency. It can also transfer multi-viewpoint requirement segments into a consistently integrated use-case model to clarify software behaviors and functionality This method helps users to enhance capability to identify specification inconsistency in the use-case modeling at the early stage of software engineering development. The proposed approach can also facilitate communication between users and developers to ensure customer satisfaction.

Waveform Simulation of Full-Waveform LIDAR (풀웨이브폼 라이다의 반사파형 시뮬레이션)

  • The LIDAR data can be efficiently utilized for automatic reconstruction of 3D models of objects on the terrain and the terrain itself. In this paper, we attempted to generate simulated waveforms of FW (Full-Waveform) LIDAR (LIght Detection And Ranging). We performed the geometric modeling of the sensor and objects, and the radiometric modeling of the waveform intensity. First, we compute the origins and directions of the sub-beams by considering the divergence effects of a laser beam. We then searched for the locations at which the sub-beams intersected with the objects, such as ground, buildings and trees. Finally, we generate the individual waveforms of the reflected sub-beams and the waveform of the entire beam by summing the individual ones. With the experimental results, we confirmed the waveforms were reasonably generated, showing the characteristics of the surfaces the beam interacted with.

  • There is little research on actual business activities in the field of security control. Therefore, in this paper, we intend to present a practical research methodology that can contribute to the calculation of the size of the appropriate input personnel through the modeling of the threat information detection response time of the security control and to analyze the effectiveness of the latest security solutions. The total threat information detection response time performed by the security control center is defined as TIDRT (Total Intelligence Detection & Response Time). The total threat information detection response time (TIDRT) is composed of the sum of the internal intelligence detection & response time (IIDRT) and the external intelligence detection & response time (EIDRT). The internal threat information detection response time (IIDRT) can be calculated as the sum of the five steps required. The ultimate goal of this study is to model the major business activities of the security control center with an equation to calculate the cyber threat information detection response time calculation formula of the security control center. In Chapter 2, previous studies are examined, and in Chapter 3, the calculation formula of the total threat information detection response time is modeled. Chapter 4 concludes with a conclusion.

  • The International Maritime Organization (IMO) has set a goal of reducing ship's carbon dioxide emissions by 70% and greenhouse gas emissions by 50% by 2050 compared to 2008. Shipowners and shipyards are promoting various R&D activities such as LNG propulsion, ammonia propulsion, electric propulsion, CO2 capture, and shaft generators as a way to satisfy this problem. The dual shaft generator has the advantage that it can be directly applied to an existing ship through remodeling. In this paper, the total fuel reduction rate that can be obtained by applying the shaft generator to the existing ship was verified through simulation. For this purpose, the size of the medium-sized ship was defined, and the governor, diesel engine, propeller, torque switch, generator for shaft generator, propulsion motor for shaft generator, and ship model were modeled and simulated.
