This paper proposes a fast motion estimation algorithm based on motion speed and multiple initial center points. The proposed method predicts initial search points by means of the spatio-temporal neighboring motion vectors. A dynamic search pattern based on the motion speed and the predicted initial center points is proposed to quickly obtain the motion vector. Due to the usage of the spatio-temporal information and the dynamic search pattern, the proposed method greatly accelerates the search speed while keeping a good predicted image quality. Experimental results show that the proposed method has a good predicted image quality in terms of PSNR with less searching time comparing with the Full Search, New Three-Step Search, and Four-Step Search.
There is the temporal correlation of the video sequence between the motion vector of current block and the motion vector of the previous block. If we can obtain useful and enough information from the motion vector of the same coordinate block of the previous frame, the total number of search points used to find the motion vector of the current block may be reduced significantly. In this paper, we propose the block-matching motion estimation using an adaptive initial search point by the predicted motion information from the same block of the previous frame. And the first search point of the proposed algorithm is moved an initial point on the location of being possibility and the searching process after moving the first search point is processed according to the fast search pattern. Simulation results show that PSNR(Peak-to-Signal Noise Ratio) values are improved UP to the 1.05dB as depend on the image sequences and improved about 0.33~0.37dB on an average. Search times are reduced about 29~97% than the other fast search algorithms. Simulation results also show that the performance of the proposed scheme gives better subjective picture quality than the other fast search algorithms and is closer to that of the FS(Full Search) algorithm.

In this paper, we design directional search pattern using motion direction biased characteristics of MVP distribution, and proposes a direction applied cross diamond search method that adaptively change search pattern according to moving direction of search point. Proposed method predict motion vectors from neighbor macro blocks, and define initial motion direction by using predicted motion vectors. It improve search efficiency by using alternately proposed search pattern according to motion direction of BMP in search process. The simulation results show that proposed method is able to fast motion estimation compared with conventional cross diamond search, according as it reduce computational complexity that is required of motion estimation with $0.43%{\sim}1.76%$.

The image stabilization is the procedure of stabilizing the blurred image with image processing method. Due to easy detection of global motion, PA(Projection algorithm) based on digital image stabilization has been studied by many researchers. PA has the advantage of easy implementation and low complexity, but in the case of serious rotational motion the accuracy of the algorithm will be cut down because of its fixed exploring range, and, on the other hand, if extending the exploring range, the block for detecting motion will become small, then we cannot detect correct global motion. In this paper, to overcome the drawback of conventional PA, an Iterative Projection Algorithm (IPA) is proposed, which improved the correctness of global motion by detecting global motion with detecting block which is appropriate to different extent of motion. With IPA, in the case of processing 1000 continual frames shot in automobile, compared with conventional algorithm and other detecting range, the results of PSNR is improved 6.8% at least, and 28.9% at the most.
In today's market scenario, consumers are bombarded with similar promotional messages. It means that managers have to pay attention to promotion strategy to create strong effect as well as to break through the monotony. In this context, although there are strong needs concerning tie-in promotion, research investigating tie-in promotion is limited. Therefore, we extracted tie-in promotion tools and defined the concept of each tie-in promotion tool by analyzing various tie-in promotion cases which are executed in current market. In addition, consumer's recognition of tie-in promotion was investigated through the in-depth interview. The results of case analysis of tie-in promotion and in-depth interview are summarized as follows. First, 9 tie-in promotion tools were extracted: tie-in price reductions, tie-in coupons, tie-in membership, tie-in contests, tie-in premiums (tangibility, intangibility), tie-in payment terms, tie-in sample, tie-in event(culture event, charity event, experience event) and tie-in fund·rebate. Second, 3 categories of the recognition of the consumer for tie-in promotion were extracted: features of preferred tie-in promotion, expectation benefit of tie-in promotion, and risk factors of tie-in promotion. Especially, at the aspect of features of preferred tie-in promotion, fit between consumer pursuit benefit and tie-in promotion was found to be interesting. Moreover, the recognition of the consumer for tie-in promotion were divided with positive(preferred tie-in promotion features, expectation benefit of tie-in promotion) and negative(risk factors of tie-in promotion) factors. In conclusion, the company's effort will be necessary to lower the perceived risk level occurring from the process of accomplishing the tie-in promotion strategy since consumers recognize both positive and negative effects of tie-in promotion.

Stop-motion animation, which is based on the physical object and is shot frame by frame, is an traditional art of animation. As an independent art form, it has formed a unique art language through a century-long development. With the continuous exploration by animators, stop-motion animation has actively combined with digital technology, and has made a great progress in the use of materials and the technique of filming. the introduction of digital technology not only enriched it's artistic expression, but also laid the basis for it's sustainable development in the new era. This study investigates how 3D printer technology affects the production process and industry of stop motion animation.
In this paper, a register promotion technique that translates memory accesses to register accesses is presented to enhance embedded software performance. In the proposed method, a source code is profiled to generate a memory trace. From the profiling results, target functions with high dynamic call counts are selected, and the proposed register promotion technique is applied only to the target functions to save the compilation time. The memory trace of the target functions is searched for the memory accesses that result in cycle count reduction when replaced by register accesses, and they are translated to register accesses by modifying the intermediate code and allocating promotion registers. The experiments on MediaBench and DSPstone benchmark programs show that the proposed method increases the performance by 14% and 18% on the average for ARM and MCORE, respectively.
We propose a method to determine camera parameters for character motion, which confiders the motion by itself. The basic idea is to approximately compute the area swept by the motion of the character's links that are orthogonally projected onto the image plane, which we call "Motion Area". Using the motion area, we can determine good fixed camera parameters and camera paths for a given character motion in the off-line or real-time camera control. In our experimental results, we demonstrate that our camera path generation algorithms can compute a smooth moving camera path while the camera effectively displays the dynamic features of character motion. Our methods can be easily used in combination with the method for generating occlusion-free camera paths. We expect that our methods can also be utilized by the general camera planning method as one of heuristics for measuring the visual quality of the scenes that include dynamically moving characters.
The previous video structuring techniques are mainly limited to shot or shot group level. However, the shot level structure couldn't provide semantics within a video. So, researches on high level structuring are going on for getting over the drawbacks of shot level structure, recently. To overcome the drawbacks of shot level structure, we propose video scene segmentation technique based on color and motion features. For considering various color distribution, each shot is divided into sub-shots based on color feature. A key frame is extracted from each sub-shot. The motion feature in a shot is extracted from MPEG-1 video's motion vector. Moreover adaptive weights based on motion's property in search range are applied to color and motion features. The experiment results of proposed technique show the excellence in view of the over-segmentation and the reflection of semantics, comparing with those of previous techniques. The proposed technique decomposes video into meaningful hierarchical structure and provides video browsing or retrieval based on scene.

This paper proposes a dynamic human pose tracking method using motion-based search strategy from an image sequence obtained from a monocular camera. The proposed method compares the image features between 3D human model projections and real input images. The method repeats the process until predefined criteria and then estimates 3D human pose that generates the best match. When searching for the best matching configuration with respect to the input image, the search region is determined from the estimated 2D image motion and then search is performed randomly for the body configuration conducted within that search region. As the 2D image motion is highly constrained, this significantly reduces the dimensionality of the feasible space. This strategy have two advantages: the motion estimation leads to an efficient allocation of the search space, and the pose estimation method is adaptive to various kinds of motion.
