  • Instead of existing cell phones, PDAs are observed as leading wireless Internet devices recently Numerous applications are developed by extended usage of PDAs and it should be installed appropriately according to devices. Furthermore, when battery is discharged, all data stored in RAM(Random Access Memory) becomes obsolete. So it should be recovered or reinstalled from flash memory, backup media or something. In this paper, we present an automatic application installation system(PAIS : PDA Automatic Installation System) to solve problems that users have to install applications by themselves whenever it is necessary. With this system, users feel comfortable by saving time and effort to install each applications and application development companies save cost needed to make materials illustrating installation process. Consequently PAIS may flourish wireless Internet business.

  • Opportunistic incremental relaying (OIR) system effectively overcomes the degradations caused by the fading of the wireless channel, and efficiently utilizes the wireless resources. Most of the OIR studies, however, assume spatially fixed relays. The user terminals which are usually served as relays move continuously, the assumption that the relays are fixed is not realistic. In this paper, the location of the spatially random user terminals are modeled by the Poisson point process, and the performance of an OIR system is derived. We noticed that the performance of the OIR system improves with the spatially random relays as well as with the fixed relays. Also the intensity of the relays and the transmitting directions toward the destination affect the performances. The performances of the maximal ratio combining (MRC) and the selection combining (SC) at the destination are compared.

  • As the Internet business has been growing rapidly, Internet users or Internet service providers have requested stable service. Along with them, the protection of data such as the management of computer information system and the prevention of barriers has become an important element. This study has embodied the remote control system that manages the scattered resources and service using JMX (Java Management Extensions) in the mobile environment and it has also suggest the method of connecting it with the remote terminal. Through the system suggested in this study, system managers are able to manage the system safely through their own regardless of time and space with the aid of mobile phone.

  • This study analyzed workers' residence and home-based work(HBW) trip by utilizing data from mobile carrier base stations of Gwangyang Port and terminal workers. In the past, research on port-related traffic or trip patterns mainly focused on cargo-based movement patterns for estimating cargo volume and port facilities, but this study analyzed trip patterns for workers in Gwangyang Port ports and related industries. As a result of the analysis, the average number of regular workers in the port hinterland Gwangyang Port was 1,295 per month, and the residence of workers was analyzed in Gwangyang City (66.1%)>Suncheon City (26.6%)>Yeosu City (3.1%). The average number of temporary workers in the hinterland was 2,645 per month, and Gwangyang City (45.8%)>Suncheon City (20.1%)>Yeosu City (5.7%). Next, the average number of regular workers at Gwangyang Port terminals was 753 per month, and Gwangyang City (66.1%)>Suncheon City (28.9%)>Yeosu City (3.3%) was analyzed. The average number of temporary workers at Gwangyang Port terminals was 1,893 per month, and Gwangyang City (50.8%)>Suncheon City (19.7%)>Yeosu City (9.8%). This study is expected to calculate the number of workers based on individual traffic using actual mobile carrier data to estimate the actual number of workers if the workplace address and actual work place are different, such as in port-related industries. This study is the first to be conducted on workers at Gwangyang Port. It is expected to be used as basic data for settlement conditions and urban planning, as well as transportation policies for port workers, by identifying the population coming from areas other than Gwangyang, where Gwangyang Port is located.

  • This paper proposes a fast handoff scheme between PDSNs in 3GPPs network for a mobile node. It introduces a method by which handoff can be performed without reestablishing PPP connection that may occur in the process of performing handoff between PDSNs. The method for handoff between PDSNs which provide packet services to a mobile node, requires that the PDSNs should receive subscribers information about mobile nodes from their neighbor PDSNs forming a communication network. When the PDSN recognizes the mobile node moving into its coverage area, it can quickly establish a communication channel with the mobile node based on the already received subscriber information. As a result, handoff is performed without reestablishing PPP. Accordingly, handoff between PDSNs can be performed faster, removing time needed for establishing a PPP session with a terminal and for terminating a previously set up PPP session.

  • Because Mobile computing uses radio transfer communications division carrying along information terminal, internet link computer and information technology of human body effectively, when, where, who, can offer role that is center enemy of available modern technology moving and reconsider new technology to physiological sounding, and reconstruct creatively. Specially, can offer possibility that can intervene in process that motive living body change before military register symptoms are developed of disease on silver society. But, much parameters data processing, standard anger of data of that is vague. same time collection of data can lift difficulty etc.. Therefore, this research excludes time limitation constituent inflecting Mobile computing, and result that analysis experiments because is proper and Mobile nerve mechanical code Tuesday that do with bioelectricity signal method select and embody system by access that become correct analysis, is becomes model of living body signal Mobile analysis device, and person could apply Mobile living body measuring device m-HSS (mobile-Hardware-software system) that measuring is possible by scientific access.

  • Smart Airport which applies the new ICT technologies to the airport is a future airport to provide convenient and safe services for passengers who are airport users, and promote the efficient management of the airport system in point of airport operator's view. The ranges of smart airport include the overall area of the airport like land side, terminal, and air side. In this paper, we propose a technical solution for airport process of terminal providing passenger convenience in various ranges for smart airport realization. Self-service such as web or mobile check-in, self check-in/tagging/back drop/boarding etc. should be strengthened to smartize the airport process and technologies such as automatic immigration, smart security search and automatic AI-based baggage search should be applied. In this paper, we explain the concept of smart airport and smart process, and then propose technical considerations.

  • As container traffic is increasing, the introduction of mega-vessel has had a significant impact on the ports and terminals business. This movement of container shipping has led to intensely competitive environment among ports, so substantial pressures to develop new container ports or to expand existing ones, have been grown. However, it requires a huge investment, especially cost and time, to overcome environmental, geographical and financial restrictions generated from developing a port. This study addressed the Mobile Harbor, the new concept of marine logistics system as an alternative strategy. We performed an economic analysis on the introduction of the Mobile Harbor in coastal transport sector and also a sensitivity analysis to examine the effects of changing factors related on the economic evaluation. We have examined the value and application of Mobile Harbor as a preliminary study, which may contribute to further studies on the Mobile Harbor.

  • This paper considers an uplink power control scheme for a virtual multi-input multi-output (MIMO) multi-cell system where multiple mobile stations with single transmit antenna form a virtual MIMO link. Unlike the conventional approach of the game theoretic formulation to add a power penalty term to improve the performance, a constraint on the total effective interference power is introduced to the maximization of the utility function of the transmission rate with linear receive beamforming. Introducing inertia, we show that the proposed power control is guaranteed to converge. The simulation results verify that the proposed power allocation can significantly improve the performance in an interference limited multi-cell system.

  • Wireless sensor networks (WSN) based on low-power technologies become important portion of ubiquitous systems. In this paper, we introduce a WSN-based welfare management system as one of the WSN applications. Especially, we implement S-MAC (Sensor Medium Access control) protocol on our system that saves both cost and power consumption, and we evaluate system performances using the TOSSIM simulator. Sensors and a small database server are placed in the house of participant, which collects and stores some environment conditions of the house. The small servers are connected to each others by wireless ad-hoc network.
