This study explored the concept of context-aware computing and its application to the library and information services. Context-aware computing represents mobile computing techniques which gather, analyze user's contextual information and provide appropriate information services for the specific user. The idea was proposed in the late 90's but it was not widely available to the public because of the technology limitation. Recent technology development made context-aware computing possible to apply to our everyday-life information seeking using smart phone and showed the usefulness of its application. This study introduced the concept of context-aware computing with some examples of it, and finally tried to propose some of its applications to the library and information services.

모바일 블로그는 기존에 웹에서 널리 쓰이던 블로그 서비스를 PDA나 휴대폰 등의 휴대단말을 통하여 제공한다. 그러나 기존의 모바일 블로그는 단순히 휴대단말을 이용하여 작성한 글을 인터넷에 연결된 블로그 서버에 올리거나 블로그 서버에 있는 글들을 가져와 보여주는 기능만을 제공하고 있다 또한, 사용자의 상황정보(context)를 고려한 블로그 서비스를 지원하지 않는다. 본 논문에서는 기존의 모바일 블로그를 위 두 가지 측면에서 확장한 상황인지 기반 모바일 애드혹 블로그의 설계와 구현에 대해 논한다. 본 논문에서 제안한 상황인지 기반 모바일 애드혹 블로그는 (1) 근거리 통신 기술을 이용하여 주위 사람들과의 직접적 블로그 공유를 지원하며 (2) RFID 기술을 이용하여 사용자의 위치를 파악하고 그에 맞게 블로그 서비스를 제공한다. 제안한 블로그는 Java를 이용하여 실제 구현이 되었으며 현재 Jeode JVM이 올려져 있는 PDA에서 동작이 가능하다. PDA 간의 통신을 위해 IEEE801.11 애드혹 모드를 이용하였다.

본 논문에서는 모바일 환경에서. 사용자의 상황정보와 개인적 선호도 정보를 고려하여 사용자에게 적합한 영화를 선택. 추천하고 선택된 영화의 요약(Summary)을 서비스 할 수 있는 시스템을 제안한다. 제안된 시스템은 사용자가 이동하는 상황에 따라 변하는 위치, 시간 정보와 개인적 선호도인 영화장르 정보에 기반한 영화선택 서비스를 제공하고, 선택된 영화 콘텐츠의 요약을 MPEG-7 메타데이터로 기술하고, 이를 이용해 요약을 효과적으로 소모할 수 있게 한다. 제안된 시스템을 통해, 모바일 환경 기반 영화 선택 및 서비스 시스템(Mobile Environment-Based Movie Selection and Summary Service System)을 실현하고, 그 효용성을 입증하였다.

Mobile network evolution and development of USN technologies introduce new business model based on context awareness. Cellular operators provide friend finding service using cell based location information and telematics service using GPS location information. Recently cellular operators provide yellow page service based cell based location information. In this paper, we develop mobile tour application on WIPI platform based on location information. Mobile tour information services provide the best information based on context awareness using user location information from LBSP (Location Based Service Platform), season, weather conditions, time from Web server, and personal preference information stored in database. Mobile tour information service application is developed on WIPI platform.

본 논문에서는 실내 거주자의 위치를 기반으로 분산객체그룹 프레임워크의 구성요소인 모바일 프락시(Mobile Proxy)를 이용하여 상황정보 지원 시스템 구축에 대해 기술하였다. 본 시스템은 가정 내 거주자의 이동을 고려하여 건강상태 및 상황정보를 제공하는 헬스케어 상황정보 서비스를 수행한다. 이를 위해 분산객체그룹 프레임워크의 그룹관리 서비스는 가정 내 위치 탐색 및 추적 센서와 서비스 수행객체 및 다양한 출력 장치들을 거실이나 침실과 같은 분할된 영역으로 그룹화하고, 모바일 프락시는 서비스를 요청하는 이동 사용자의 위치를 기반으로 헬스케어 서비스 수행의 연속성을 지원한다. 그리고 상황정보에 따라 헬스케어 맞춤형 정보 서비스가 지원되도록 했다. 상황정보 지원 시스템이 제공하는 서비스는 이동성을 고려한 멀티미디어 서비스와 시간 및 위치에 따라 처방 주의 정보 및 스케줄 알림 서비스로 구현했으며, 상황정보 지원 헬스케어 서비스의 수행 결과를 원격 데스크 탑과 상황정보 서비스 인터페이스를 통해 확인했다.

Weblog is one of the most spread web services. The content of the weblog includes daily events and emotions. If we collect personal information using mobile devices and create a weblog, user can create their own weblog easily. Some researchers already developed systems that created weblog in mobile environment. In this paper, user's activity is inferred from personal information in mobile device. The inferred activities and story generation engine are used to generate text for creating a weblog. Finally, the text, photographs and user's movement in Google Map are integrated into a weblog.

기존 상황인식 시스템을 제안한 대부분의 연구는 모바일 환경에서 제한된 모바일 기능과 메모리 공간 및 데이터 처리 능력으로 인해 소규모의 상황인식 처리 능력을 가지는 단점과 추론 엔진의 부분 개발로 인한 상황 정보 추론 방식의 제한적인 형태로 나타나고 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 모바일이라는 단점을 극복하고자 모바일 클라우드 환경을 기반으로 Jess 및 SWRL을 이용한 상황인식 프로세스를 구현하였다.

Mobile tour guide applications help tourists to search for and visit their surrounding POIs(Points of Interest) of their locations and to obtain their guide information. With the development of wearable devices like smart watches and wearable glasses, people using multiple mobile devices are increasing; a tourist may use a hand-held device, a wearable device or both to obtain tour information. However, most mobile tour guides using mobile devices provide the tour information with little consideration of their hand-held and wearable characteristics. In particular, a tourist with multiple mobile devices who search for the tour information from multiple mobile devices must input their intention separately to each device. To alleviate these problems, we propose a mobile tour guide system with the following features: one is to reduce redundant user input by sharing the touring context between hand-held and wearable devices; the other is to present tour information according to capabilities and usage pattern of the devices. The proposed system guides tourists by complementing disadvantage of the devices and also minimizes user interaction between applications and tourists.

모바일 정보 서비스의 수용성에는 사용자 인터페이스가 중요한 요소이다. 특히 모바일 인터페이스에서 청자(listner)인 인간에게 화자(speaker)인 기계가 어떻게 시의적절한 대화를 하는가는 수용성에 중요한 요소임에도 불구하고 아직까지 이에 대한 본격적인 연구가 진행되지 못했다. 따라서 본 연구의 목적은 사용자의 상황을 인식한 존대등분 계산법을 제안하여 이에 근거한 시의적절한 대화를 지원하는 상황 인식형 모바일 인터페이스를 설계하도록 하는 것이다. 다만 존대등분 계산은 문화별 및 언어별로 차이가 날 수 있으므로, 한국어를 대상으로 계산법을 제안하려고 한다.

The dissemination of smartphones is being spread and supplementary services using smartphones are increasing and various as the Mobile network and device are developing rapidly, so smartphones that enables to provide a wide range of services is expected to receive the most attention. It makes users listen to music anytime, anywhere in real-time, use useful applications, and access to Internet to search for information. The service environment is changing on PC into Mobile due to the change of the circumstance mentioned above. these services are done by using just location information rather than other context, and users have to search services and use them. It is essential to have Context-aware technology for personalization recommendation services and the appropriate representation and definition of Context information for context-aware. Ontology is possible to represent knowledge freely and knowledge can be extended by inferring. In addition, design of the ontology model is needed according to the purposes of utilization. This paper used context-aware technologies to implement a user personalization recommendation service. It also defined the context through OWL modeling for user personalization recommendation service and used inference rules and inference engine for context reasoning.
