Accuracy Analysis of Image Orientation Technique and Direct Georeferencing Technique

  • Mobile Mapping Systems are effective systems to acquire the position and image data using vehicle equipped with the GPS (Global Positioning System), IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit), and CCD camera. They are used in various fields of road facility management, map update, and etc. In the general photogrammetry such as aerial photogrammetry, GCP (Ground Control Point)s are needed to compute the image exterior orientation elements (the position and attitude of camera). These points are measured by field survey at the time of data acquisition. But it costs much time and money. Moreover, it is not possible to make sufficient GCP as much as we want. However Mobile Mapping Systems are more efficient both in time and money because they can obtain the position and attitude of camera at the time of photographing. That is, Image Orientation Technique must use GCP to compute the image exterior orientation elements, but on the other hand Direct Georeferencing can directly compute the image exterior orientation elements by GPS/INS. In this paper, we analyze about the positional accuracy comparison of ground point using the Image Orientation Technique and Direct Georeferencing Technique.

Study on MEMS based IMU & GPS Performance in Urban Area for Light-Weighted Mobile Mapping Systems (경량 모바일매핑시스템을 위한 도심지 내 MEMS 기반 IMU/GPS 통합센서(MTi-G) 특성 연구)

  • With the development of MEMS, small and low-priced sensors integrating IMU and GPS have produced and exploited for diverse field. In this research, we have judged that MEMS-based IMU/GPS sensor is suitable for light-weighted mobile mapping system and carried out experiments to analyze the characteristics of MTi-G, which was developed from XSens company. From a sensor which fixed to dashboard, coordinates results with no post-processing were achieved for test area. On the whole, the results show satisfactory performances but some errors also were discovered from parts of the road due to sensor properties, XKF characteristics and GPS reception environment. We could confirm the potential of light-weighted mobile mapping system. Experiments considering various GPS reception environments and road condition and more detailed level of accuracy analysis will be performed for further research.

  • When extracting geo-referenced 3D data from cameras mounted on Mobile Mapping Systems, one of important properties for accuracy of extracted data is the alignment of the relative translation(lever-arm) and rotation(bore-sight) between the coordinate systems of Inertial Measurement Unit(IMU)/Ground Positioning System(GPS) and cameras. Since the conventional method calculates absolute camera orientation using ground control points (GCP), the alignment is determined in one Coordinated System (GPS Coordinated System). It basically require GCP. We proposed a mathematical model for the alignment using the initially uncoupled data of cameras and IMU/GPS without GCPs.

  • In this paper, we propose a social-based collaboration systems for business process management in the mobile cloud. This XMDR-DAI is to provide services for data sharing and exchange between local systems that operate independently in a cloud environment, take charge of a social-based collaborative business process management. Social-based collaborative business processes are handled in a collision among a structure such as unit conversion, meaning conflict, and the schema mapping data resulting from the inner query. The conflict was resolved by mapping process which takes in each XMDR-DAI.

  • 무선통신의 발달에 따라 모바일 장비 기반의 이동성을 고려한 서비스에 관한 연구가 활발하다. 모바일 장비는 제한된 화면크기, 부족한 리소스 등의 한계와 함께 사용자의 이동 중에 발생하는 이벤트를 처리해야 한다는 문제가 있기 때문에, 사용자에게 친숙한 인터페이스와 개별화된 추천 서비스가 요구된다. 본 논문에서는 사용자의 선호도를 반영한 베이지안 네트워크를 이용하여 모바일 장비에서 개인화된 추천 시스템을 개발한다. 실시간으로 변화하는 환경에 적응하도록 네트워크를 설계하기 위하여 전문가에 의해 구조를 설계하고, 수집된 사용자 로그를 바탕으로 파라메터를 학습하여 베이지안 네트워크 모델을 생성한 후, 학습된 모델 기반의 추론결과를 실제 컨텐츠와 비교하여 시스템에 매핑시킴으로써 사용자에게 추천한다. 실제 신촌지역 음식점 추천을 대상으로 실험한 결과, 그 가능성을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • 모바일 융합 서비스를 개발하기 위해 단순 컴포넌트의 조립(integration)이나 합병(merge)과 융합 서비스를 식별하는 기존의 개념만으로 부족하다. 비즈니스 서비스 모델에 적합한 비즈니스 기능을 가진 융합 서비스를 지원하는 응용 시스템 개발을 위해 비즈니스 서비스 모델에서부터 서비스 모델로의 매핑과 다양한 자산(assets)정보가 필요하며 이들을 설계 단계에서 구현 단계를 지원하는 적절한 프레임 워크가 절대적으로 필요하다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 소프트웨어 집약적인 신기술을 도입하여 시장 전략과 융합 모바일 도메인에 적합한 소프트웨어 개발 도구 및 환경 지원을 위한 모바일 융합 서비스 기반 공통 프레임워크(SOCF:Service Oriented Common Frameworks)를 연구하며 실생활의 모바일 서비스가 제공자와 고객 간에 재사용 단위의 추상화 수준을 단순 컴포넌트를 넘어 서비스 제공과 사용사이(provide/consume)의 서비스 수준까지 확대하여 다양한 서비스 자원들을 통합하고 재사용하여 서비스 융합 시스템 개발을 지원하는 프레임워크 설계 및 구현에 관한 내용을 서술한다.

  • The perforrnance and portability of mobile applications can be greatly increased by adopting proxy modiles which exists between the conventional system and the device. When mobile devices collaborate with the conventional computers, there are problems to address: a battery life problem, limited input and output methods, and intermittent wireless connection. Those issues are magnified in the multimedia collaboration environment since it works in a real-time condition and the size of the message in the system is big in many cases. Additionally, because multimedia collaboration system softwares are too heavy and complex for mobile devices, it is veη hard to integrate them with conventional systems. In this paper, we describe our design and its implementation of a novel approach to map events (i.e. messages) using a proxy for mobile applications. We adopt a proxy to provide a content adaptation (i.e. transcoding) where the message contents are customized. Also, we design a mobile version publish/subscribe system to provide communication service for mobile device in loosely coupled and flexible manner. We present our empirical results which show that our design can be efficiently implemented and integrated with a conventional multimedia collaboration system.

Accurate Spatial Information Mapping System Using MMS LiDAR Data (MMS LiDAR 자료 기반 정밀 공간 정보 매핑 시스템)

  • Mapping accurate spatial information is important for constructing three-dimensional (3D) spatial models and managing artificial facilities, and, especially, mapping road centerlines is necessary for constructing accurate road maps. This research developed a semi-automatic methodology for mapping road centerlines using the MMS(Mobile Mapping System) LiDAR(Light Detection And Ranging) point cloud as follows. First, the intensity image was generated from the given MMS LiDAR data through the interpolation method. Next, the line segments were extracted from the intensity image through the edge detection technique. Finally, the road centerline segments were manually selected among the extracted line segments. The statistical results showed that the generated road centerlines had 0.065 m overall accuracy but had some errors in the areas near road signs.

  • 본 연구에서 3차원 지형공간정보의 구축 및 처리, 가시화를 위하여 개인용 PC와 임베디드 단말기의 포켓 PC환경에서 자료 호환 및 동시 운영이 가능한 실시간 3차원 GIS의 Prototype의 설계 및 구현과 적용 실험을 하고자 한다 OpenGL(Open Graphic Library)과 OpenGL|ES (Embedded System)를 활용하여 도시경관을 구성하는 주요객체인 지형, 건물, 교통, 식생 등을 통합적으로 저작 및 3D 객체 모델링 및 렌더링이 통합 및 개별 운영 시스템을 설계하고 구현하였다. 구현 단계에서 개인용 PC 운영환경에서는 기능성 향상에 중점을 두어 공간 데이터베이스 설계, 텍스처 영상 매핑처리, 대용량의 3차원 공간정보 처리 및 관리, 가시화, 렌더링, 모델링 기능들을 제공하며, PDA 휴대용 단말운영환경을 지원하는 모바일 시스템에서는 실시간 모바일 저작기능과 렌더링 기능에 주안점을 두어 개발하였다. 한편 연구 결과로 구현된 시스템은 원도우 XP 기반의 개인용 PC와 PDA 단말기 상에서 3D 객체 자료구조가 호환되어 향후 다양한 응용이 가능할 것으로 생각된다.

Simulation based Target Geometry Determination Method for Extrinsic Calibration of Multiple 2D Laser Scanning System (다중 2D 레이저 스캐너 시스템의 외부 표정요소 캘리브레이션을 위한 시뮬레이션 기반 표적 배치 결정 기법)

  • Acquiring indoor point cloud, using SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) based mobile mapping system, is an element progress for development of as-build BIM (Building Information Model) for the maintenance of the building. In this research we proposed a simulation-based target geometry determination for extrinsic calibration of multiple 2D laser scanning mobile system. Four different types of calibration sites were designed: (1) circle type; (2) rectangle type; (3) double circle type; and (4) double rectangle type. Based on the measurement values obtained from each simulated calibration site geometry, least squares solution based extrinsic calibration was derived. As a result, the rectangle type geometry is most suitable for extrinsic calibration of this system. Also, correlation values between extrinsic calibration parameters were high, and calibration results were distinct according to the calibration sites.
