High-flow steel-fiber reinforced mortar may induce a certain fiber orientation distribution in the process of placing and thus have an influence on the tensile properties. In this paper, the variation of the fiber orientation distribution according to the flow of high-flow steel-fiber reinforced mortar was estimated in numerical simulation. The analytical results present that the major variation of fiber orientation distribution is made within 150mm of flow distance, thereafter the tendency of the fiber orientation distribution is not noticeable even though the peak of distribution density in the orientation parallel to the flow direction get bigger along the distance. Considering the close relation between the fiber orientation and the tensile behavior of composite, prediction of fiber orientation distribution make it possible to predict the variation in the tensile behavior of high-flow steel-fiber reinforced mortar according to the flow.

In this paper, mortar mixed with tapioca starch was manufactured to evaluate the effect of tapioca starch on mortar, through evaluating the quality characteristics of mortar, the impact of tapioca starch on improving the performance and basic quality of mortar was examined. Tapioca starch tended to decrease flow by increasing the viscosity of the dough consistency of fresh mortar, which tended to reduce flow, and decreased by about 10 % as the tapioca starch mixing ratio increased by 0.025 %. In addition, the effect of tapioca starch on the compressive strength of mortar was at the same level regardless of the tapioca starch mixture at 28 days of age. However, at an early age of 3 days, the speed of compressive strength development was accelerated by mix ing tapioca starch. In addition, the effect of tapioca starch on the compressive strength of mortar was at the same level regardless of the tapioca starch mixture at 28 days of age. However, at an early age of 3 days, the speed of compressive strength development was accelerated by mixing tapioca starch. The speed of strength development improved by about 20 % when mixing 0.050 % tapioca starch. The adhesion strength improved by about 60 % when mixing 0.050 % tapioca starch, and the final shrinkage in length change decreased by 5 %.

A hydrophobic emulsion consisting of PMHS and PVA was mixed into a cement mortar to observe changes in cement hydrate and microstructure, and to experimentally evaluate compressive strength and flexural strength. The hydrophobic emulsion was added with metakaolin and PVA fibers, and the stirring speed and sequence were adjusted to prepare a shell-concept hydrophobic emulsion. It was then mixed when mixing mortar to enhance filling of the internal pores and change of the hydrates. It was observed that the mortar mixed with a hydrophobic emulsion was filled with micropores and a coating film was formed on the surface of the hydrates by the emulsion. It was analyzed that the total pore area and porosity of the mortar mixed with the emulsion decreased from 30% to 60% compared to OPC, excluding the 50MK variable, which was extremely reduced and the median pore diameter decreased in some variables. It was also found that the compressive strength of the mortar mixed with emulsion 1% was increased up to 20%, but the strength of the mortar specimen mixed with 2% decreased to 50%.

The Physical performance of use materials was evaluated to improve durability of fast-paced repair mortar used at rapid construction sites. The fastening performance and basic performance were evaluated by substituting ferronickel grinding slag residues, rapid settlement, and EVA-based polymer for mortar. As a result, the compressive strength, flexural strength and adhesion strength were increased due to the use of FS Fine Aggregate and RS Fine Aggregate. The chloride ion promotion test of fast-polymer mortar kept the chloride inhibitory performance from 7 days to 28 days when fNS was used less than 50%. Durability degradation due to the use of FS Fine Aggregate and RS Fine Aggregate has not been found, and it is believed that further consideration of economic and long-term durability will be required for use as alternative Aggregate for construction and civil engineering.

The aim of this research is the feasibility analysis of the reject ash premixed cement mortar with combined aggregate. Namely, for the combined aggregate with two different qualities of aggregates, a fundamental properties of cement mortar was evaluated depending on various replacing ratios of reject ash(Ri). According to the experimental results, the combined aggregate consisted with low-quality aggregate and sea sand did not change the flow value depending on the reject ash while the combined aggregates consisted with low quality aggregate and sea sand; and consisted exploded debris sand and sea sand the increasing reject ash increased the air content with increased replacing ratio of reject ash. In the case of compressive strength, as the replacing ratio of reject ash was increased, the compressive strength was increased. It is considered that when 5% of reject ash replacing ratio made similar quality of cement mortar with favorable quality aggregate, hence, it can be suggested that 5% replacement of reject ash for desirable fluidity and compressive strength of concrete.

As the installation of solar panel accelerates, so does the number of solar panels reaching their end-of-life (EOL). However, the EOL solar panels is becoming a concern, as they contain potentially hazardous materials and are not easily recycled. Coping strategies such as effective collection, disposal, and recycling methods will be important to manage the growing number of EOL solar panels in the coming years. Therefore, many studies have focused on the development of EOL solar panel recycling technology. One recycling technology for EOL solar panels applicable to the construction field is the application of extracted tempered glass from EOL solar panels as construction materials. This study summarized the EOL solar panel disassembly technology and evaluated the mechanical properties of mortar using extracted tempered glass as fine aggregate. The results showed that when tempered glass was used as a fine aggregate in mortar, the compressive strength, flexural strength, and macro pores in the 1-3 ㎛ with 200-300 ㎛ range were affected, regardless of the disassembly technology of EOL solar panels. Especially, we found that the mechanical performance of mortar using chemically treated tempered glass was noticeably decreased due to changes in the chemical composition of the extracted tempered glass resulting from the removal of K2O and CuO due to chemical reactions. Meanwhile, it was found that when fly ash was used as a binder, the reduction of mechanical performance could be alleviated.

When fiber reinforced concrete is manufactured, it is useful to utilize lathe scrap as an aiternative material of steel fiber, because it is not only economical as an by-product of steel manufactures, but also has a very similar composition to that of steel fiber. The purpose of this experimental research is to evaluate the compressive strength and tensile behavior and then propose a material model of lathe scrap reinforced mortar. For this purpose, the lathe scrap reinforced mortars were ma de a ccording to their tota l volume fra ction of 1.5 % for wa ter-binder ra tio of 30 % a nd 40 %, respectively, a nd then the mechanical properties such as compressive strength, direct tensile strength, and stress-strain curve of those were evaluated. Also, based on the experimental results of lathe scrap reinforced mortar the material model for tensile behavior was suggested. It was revealed that the experimental results and the proposed material model corresponded relatively well.

Recently, NDTs (Non-Destructive Techniques) using electromagnetic(EM) properties are applied to the performance evaluation for RC (Reinforced Concrete) structures. Since nonmetallic materials which are cement-based system have their unique dielectric constant and conductivity, they can be characterized and changed with different mixture conditions like W/C (water to cement) ratios and unit cement weight. In a room condition, cement mortar is generally dry so that porosity plays a major role in EM properties, which is determined at early-aged stage and also be affected by curing condition. In this paper, EM properties (dielectric constant and conductivity) in cement mortar specimens with 4 different W/C ratios are measured in the wide region of 0.2 GHz~20 GHz. Each specimen has different submerged curing period from 0 to 28 days and then EM measurement is performed after 4 weeks. Furthermore, porosity at the age of 28 days is measured through MIP (Mercury Intrusion Porosimeter) and saturation is also measured through amount of water loss in room condition. In order to evaluate the porosity from the initial curing stage, numerical analysis based on the modeling for the behavior in early-aged concrete is performed and the calculated results of porosity and measured EM properties are analyzed. For the convenient comparison with influencing parameters like W/C ratios and curing period, EM properties from 5 GHz to 15 GHz are averaged as one value. For 4 weeks, the averaged dielectric constant and conductivity in cement mortar are linearly decrease with higher W/C ratios and they increase in proportion to the square root of curing period regardless of W/C ratios.
