Output Data Analysis of Simulation: A Review (시뮬레이션 출력 자료 분석에 관한 연구)

  • Simulation is the imitation of the operation of a real-world process or system over time. It concerns the study of the operating characteristics of real systems. Typically, a simulation project consists of several steps such as data collection, coding, model verification, model validation, experimental design, output data analysis, and implementation. Among these steps of a simulation study this paper focus on statistical analysis methods of simulation output data. Specially, we explain how to develop confidence interval estimators for mean ${\mu}$ in terminating and non-terminating simulation cases. We, then, explore the estimation techniques for $f({\mu})$, where the function $f({\bullet})$ is a nonlinear that is continuously differentiable in a neighborhood of ${\mu}$ with $f'({\mu}){\neq}0$.

Recognition of Fire Levels based on Fuzzy Inference System using by FCM (Fuzzy Clustering 기반의 화재 상황 인식 모델)

  • Fire monitoring system detects a fire based on the values of various sensors, such as smoke, CO, temperature, or change of temperature. It detects a fire by comparing sensed values with predefined threshold values for each sensor. However, to prevent a fire it is required to predict a situation which has a possibility of fire occurrence. In this work, we propose a fire recognition system using a fuzzy inference method. The rule base is constructed as a combination of fuzzy variables derived from various sensed values. In addition, in order to solve generalization and formalization problems of rule base construction from expert knowledge, we analyze features of fire patterns. The constructed rule base results in an improvement of the recognition accuracy. A fire possibility is predicted as one of 3 levels(normal, caution, danger). The training data of each level is converted to fuzzy rules by FCM(fuzzy C-means clustering) and those rules are used in the inference engine. The performance of the proposed approach is evaluated by using forest fire data from the UCI repository.

A Study on Development of A School-Based Alcohol and Delinquency Prevention Program (청소년 음주 및 비행 예방 프로그램의 개발을 위한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop and evaluate a school-based alcohol and delinquency prevention program. The program emphasizes the acquisition of skills to effectively deal with peer pressure specific to alcohol use and delinquency as well as to build more healthy relationships with both parents and friends. The program was operated by social workers in a middle school in Seoul for almost 2 months. The program produced positive results. That is, students' drinking frequencies, the level of positive alcohol expectancies, and the level of delinquency have been lowered. Finally, this study suggests that the length of the program be extended and the program be replicated by future social work practitioners and researchers in order to make the program more effective.

A Case Study on Guiding the Mathematically Gifted Students to Investigating on the 4-Dimensional Figures (수학 영재들을 4차원 도형에 대한 탐구로 안내하는 사례 연구)

  • Some properties on the mathematical hyper-dimensional figures by 'the principle of the permanence of equivalent forms' was investigated. It was supposed that there are 2 conjectures on the making n-dimensional figures : simplex (a pyramid type) and a hypercube(prism type). The figures which were made by the 2 conjectures all satisfied the sufficient condition to show the general Euler's Theorem(the Euler's Characteristics). Especially, the patterns on the numbers of the components of the simplex and hypercube are fitted to Binomial Theorem and Pascal's Triangle. It was also found that the prism type is a good shape to expand the Hasse's Diagram. 5 mathematically gifted high school students were mentored on the investigation of the hyper-dimensional figure by 'the principle of the permanence of equivalent forms'. Research products and ideas students have produced are shown and the 'guided re-invention method' used for mentoring are explained.

Measurement of Viscoelastic Properties of Heat Denatured Gluten Network (열변성 글루텐의 점탄성 측정에 관한 연구)

  • A method for the measurement of viscoelastic properties of heat denatured gluten network was developed in order to evaluate the noodle making quality of wheat flour. The stress relaxation of elongated heat denatured gluten network could be expressed by 6-element generallized Maxwell model. The tensile force of heat denatured gluten network increased by the heating time. The elastcity and viscosity of the first exponential term which covers 70-74% of the total relaxation increased as cooking time was extended up to 1q min. The addition of gluten network strengthening agent, potassium bromate, at 1000ppm level reduced the elasticity and viscosity, while weakening agent, L-cystein, increased them. The relaxation time decreased after 11 min of cooking in both cases. The elasticity and viscosity of heat denatured gluten were affected differently by the concentration of added urea.

A Design for the Personalized Difficulty Level Metric based on Learning State (학습 상태에 기반한 맞춤형 난이도 측정을 위한 척도 설계)

  • The 'level of difficulty' is one of the major factors for learners when selecting learning contents. However, the criteria for the difficulty level is mostly defined by the contents providers. This approach does not support the personalized education which should consider the abilities and environments of various learners. In this research, the knowledge of the learners and contents were formalized and generalized to resolve the issue, and object models, including a metric for personalized difficulty level, were designed in order to be applied for experiments. And then, based on 100 contents for music education and 20 learners, we performed simulations with an implemented tool to validate our approach. The experimental results showed that our method can calculate the personalized difficulty levels considering the similarities between the knowledges from the learning state and the contents. Our approach can be effectively applied to the on-line learning management system which contains easy access to the learning state and contents data.

Collaborative Beamforming for Ad Hoc Sensor Networks (분산된 Ad Hoc 센서 네트워크의 협력 빔포밍)

  • In this paper, we derive the average received beampattern at each receive node which is randomly distributed within a disk when considering a collaborative beanforming between transmission nodes which are randomly distributed within another disk for ad hoc sensor network. Numerical results show that the radius of disk at the transmitter determines the beamwidth of mainbeam, and the sidebeam is affected by the number of transmitter nodes. We also consider K receive groups and divide the transmit sensor modes into K groups to support each receive group using beamforming, and derive the SINR at each receive node. Finally, we investigate the effects of beampattern and interference on total sum capacity among all receive node, and numerically determine the number of transmit nodes for each group which can achieve the maximal sum capacity.

  • DNA microarray 칩은 신약 개발, 유전적 질환 진단, Bio-molecular 상호작용 연구, 유전자의 기능연구 등 폭넓게 사용되고 있다. 이 논문은 cDNA mimcroarray 데이터를 분석하기 위한 웹형태의 시스템 개발에 대한 내용을 다룬다. 하나의 cDNA microarray에는 수 백에서 수 만개의 유전자가 심어져 있으며, 데이터를 분석할 때 대량의 데이터와 다양한 형태의 오류로 인해서 데이터간의 차이를 보정하는 분석 도구와 통계적 기법들이 사용되어야 한다. 본 논문에서는 가상 칩 뷰어를 이용하여 실제 microarray 데이터의 foreground intensity에서 백그라운드의 intensity를 제거하여 일반화된 칩 이미지를 생성한다. 이 가상 칩 뷰어는 여러 가지 필터효과와 서로 다른 두 형광의 차이를 조정하는 global normalization 기법을 사용하여 발현 유전자 분석을 시각적으로 할 수 있고, 중복된 마이크로어레이 칩 데이터를 통하여 시간이 많이 걸리는 분석전 칩의 유효성을 검토할 수 있다. 칩 데이터의 normalization을 위한 통계 방법으로 R 통계 도구와 linear 모델을 사용하여 microarray 칩의 유전자 발현 양상을 분석한다. 통계적 방법을 사용하지 않은 데이터를 추출, 이 데이터의 패턴 그래프 그리고 발현 레벨을 분류하여 마이크로어레이의 각 스팟의 유효성 검토의 정확성을 높였다. 이 시스템은 칩의 유효성 검토, 스팟의 유효성 검토, 유전자 선정에 대해 분석의 용이성과 정확성을 높일 수 있었다.

  • To establish governance, which is rising as the new urban management system, it is significant to prepare Good-Local governance model that is proper to regional conditions and characteristics. This study analyzes changes in influence of governance participants appeared during the process in ecological park in Chungju Won-heung, using new methodology comparing ideal form and real condition regarding the influence of decision making, which is the key factor of governance. The result of this study showed that influence in participation of governance decision making improved gradually and this developed as Good-Local governance decision making by developing consultation regarding the new regional issue when it comes to operation and management. For further study, general model needs to be established through applying and analyzing suggested analysis method to various governance cases to evaluate the level of influence, which is the key component.

Target Speech Detection Using Gaussian Mixture Model of Frequency Bandwise Power Ratio for GSC-Based Beamforming (GSC 기반 빔포밍을 위한 주파수 밴드별 전력비 분포의 혼합 가우시안 모델을 이용한 목표 음성신호의 검출)

  • Noise reduction is necessary to compensate for the degradation of recognition performance by various types of noises. Among many noise reduction techniques using microphone array, generalized sidelobe canceller (GSC) has been widely applied to reduce nonstationary noises. The performance of GSC is directly affected by its adaptation mode controller (AMC). That is, accurate target speech detection is essential to guarantee the sufficient noise reduction in pure noise intervals and the less distortion in target speech intervals. Thus, this paper proposes an improved AMC design technique in which the power ratio of the output of fixed beamforming to that of blocking matrix is calculated frequency bandwise and probabilistically modeled by mixture Gaussians for each class. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm outperforms conventional AMCs in receiver operating curves (ROC) and output SNRs.
