  • This study aimed finding effective models for the teaching the concept of function. We selected two models. One is discrete model which focuses on the 'corresponding relation of the elements of the sets(domain and range). The other is continuous model which focuses on the dependent relationship of the two variables connected in variable phenomenon. A vending machine model was used as a discrete model, and a water bucket model was used as a continuous model in our study. We taught 2 times about the concept of function using two models to the 60 students (7th grade, 2 classes) living in Taebak city, and tested it twice, after class and about 3 months later. A vending machine model was helpful in understanding the definition of function in the 7th grade math textbook. Also, it was helpful to making concept image and to recalling it. On the other hand, students who used the water bucket model had a difficultly in understanding the all independent variables of the domain corresponding to the dependent variables. But they excelled in tasks making formula expression and understanding changing situations.

  • This paper present a fuzzy mxlel of describing reacton features for ozon contactor in advanced water treatn-ent systems. Input and output variables are chosen by considenng the object of ozon processing and several parameters related to management of water quahty. Dissolved organic carbon concentration, $UV_{254}$ absorptIon and $KM_NO_4$ consumption are proposed as common variables in input and outp.lt variables. Furthermore own concentration, raw water's temperature and contact time are suggested as input variables, Membership hmctions for input variables have triangular type share and the grades in each lrembership function are determined by investigating process data gathered at pilot planl The decision parts of fuzzy model have linear combination form of input variables and coefficients included in such linear equations are computedd with process clata in the sense of least square error Also fuzzy trodel suggested in this paper is partitioned by 3 independent fuzzy rnxlels using the characteristics of having no interactions armng output variables. As a result, such fuzzy mxlel has rrerits in computation and comprehension. According to simulatIon results, fuzzy moIel's outputs give almost similar data to process output under same input conditions.

  • This paper aims to analyze the impact of generative language models on coding education and explore appropriate assessment methods. Generative language models have the ability to generate accurate and efficient code based on natural language prompts, making them increasingly utilized as tools in coding education. However, in coding exams that allow the use of language models, students may simply input the exam instructions as prompts and still achieve high scores. As a result, traditional assessment methods have become inadequate in distinguishing students' actual coding proficiency. We aim to analyze the correlation between understanding programming syntax and the ability to solve problems using generative language models. To do this, we examined the results of both a test assessing basic programming syntax and a coding test that involved utilizing generative language models, administered in a coding course at S University. Additionally, the paper discusses the need to develop new assessment items that comprehensively evaluate students' understanding of programming syntax and problem-solving abilities.
