Estimating Maintenance Cost by Actual Database Based on Operation in Sewage Treatment Plant (하수처리장 실적데이터베이스를 활용한 유지관리비용 예측)

  • For a successful construction project not only construction engineering and project management technology but also economic evaluation technique is required. Design and construction technologies are necessary to receive a project order. However, construction management technology which can be apply from the project initial phase to the project operation and management phase is required to create a benefit from the project. Construction management technology is one of the effective factors for project success. Economical and efficient cost management from the planning phase influences the project success. This study investigated cost flow and cost factors of domestic Sewage Treatment Plant project for systematic analysis of cost items following the entire project phase. Particularly, data modeling based on domestic Sewage Treatment Equipment maintenance cost DB was performed, and maintenance cost estimation trend line is suggested using Monte carlo Simulation Method to decrease uncertainty of actual results DB and for feasibility study. The Interpretation of Separation Mechanism of Ridge-Cut Explosive Bolt Using Simulation Programs (해석프로시져를 이용한 리치컷형 폭발볼트 분리기구 해석)

  • The present work has been developed the interpretation processor including the behavior of material failure and the separation phenomena under transient dynamic loading (the operation of explosive bolt) using AUTODYN V4.3, SoildWork 2003 and TrueGrid V2.1 programs. It has been demonstrated that the interpretation in ridge-cut explosive bolt under dynamic loading condition should be necessary to the appropriate failure model and the basic stress of bolt failure is the principal stress. The use of this interpretation processor developing the present work could be extensively helped to design the shape and the amount of explosives in the explosive bolt having a complex geometry. It is also proved that the interpretation processor approach is an accurate and effective analysis technique to evaluate the separation mechanism in explosive bolts.

A Design Control System of Hybrid Underwater Glider and Performance Test (하이브리드 수중 글라이더의 제어 시스템 설계 및 성능 시험)

  • In this paper, we studied the control of the hybrid underwater glider (HUG), which has the advantage of high precision route search function and long-term mission capability. Dynamic modeling of HUG is based on numerical model of the attitude controller and buoyancy engine, thruster. We designed the control part considering the smooth control and precise sailing of HUG. A buoyancy engine capable of inhaling water is designed to control the buoyancy of HUG. And mass shifter carrying the battery was designed for controlling pitching motion of HUG. A control system for controlling the buoyancy engine and the attitude controller was constructed. In order to verify performance, we performed water tank test using manufactured HUG.

  • Inheritance and concurrency are the primary feature of object oriented languages, and are especially important for code re-use. They provide maximum computational power and modeling power through concurrency of objects. But, concurrent objects and inheritance have conflicting characteristics, thereby simultaneously use of them causes the problem, so failed inheritance anomaly, which requires code redefinition of inherited methods to maintain integrity of objects. In this paper, to solve the inheritance anomaly problems we introduce concept of state abstraction, in which infernal states of encapsulated objects are made available from a part of object's external interface. And we design inheritance interface mechanisms which methods are inherited efficiently. In our scheme, we can solve the typical inheritance anomaly problems.

Evaluation of Temperature and Precipitation on Integrated Climate and Air Quality Modeling System (ICAMS) for Air Quality Prediction (대기질 예측을 위한 기후·대기환경 통합모델링시스템 (ICAMS)의 기온 및 강수량 예측 능력 평가)

  • This study provides an evaluation for capability of Integrated Climate and Air quality Modeling System (ICAMS) on future regional scale climate projection. Temperature and precipitation are compared between ground-level observation data and results of regional models (MM5) for the past 30 years over the Korean peninsula. The ICAMS successfully simulates the local-scale spatial/seasonal variation of the temperature and precipitation. The probability distribution of simulated daily mean and minimum temperature agree well with the observed patterns and trends, although mean temperature shows a little cold bias about $1^{\circ}C$ compared to observations. It seems that a systematic cold bias is mostly due to an underestimation of maximum temperature. In the case of precipitation, the rainfall in winter and light rainfall are remarkably simulated well, but summer precipitation is underestimated in the heavy rainfall phenomena of exceeding 20 mm/day. The ICAMS shows a tendency to overestimate the number of washout days about 7%. Those results of this study indicate that the performance of ICAMS is reasonable regarding to air quality predication over the Korean peninsula.

Comparison and Analysis of Cycling Packet Drop Algorithms and RIO as Packet Drop for the Congestion Control (혼잡제어용 패킷 폐기를 위한 사이클링 패킷 폐기 기법과 RIO 알고리즘의 비교 분석)

  • In this paper, we compared and analyzed two new models of cyclic packet dropping algorithm, Adaptive Cyclic Packet Dropping algorithm (ACPD), and Non-adaptive Cyclic Packet Dropping algorithm (NCPD) with RIO. The ACPD algorithm drops adaptively packets for the congestion control, as predicting traffic pattern between each cycle. Therefore the ACPD algorithm makes up for the drawback of RIO algorithm and minimizes the wastes of the bandwidth being capable of predicting in the NCPD algorithm. We modelled two cyclic packet drop algorithms and executed a simulation and analyzed the throughput and packet drop rate based on Sending Priority changing dynamically depending on network traffic. In this algorithm, applying the strict drop precedence policy, we get better performance on priority levels. The results show that two new algorithms may provide more efficient and stricter drop precedence policy as compared to RIO independent of traffic load. The ACPD algorithm can provide better performance on priority levels and keep stricter drop policy than other algorithms.

  • The HMM-Net is a neural network architecture that implements the computation of output probabilities of a hidden Markov model (HMM). The architecture is developed for the purpose of combining the discriminant power of neural networks with the time-domain modeling capability of HMMs. Criteria of maximum likehood(ML) and minimization of mean squared error(MMSE) are used for learning HMM-Net classifiers. The criterion MMSE is better than ML when initial learning condition is well established. However Ml is more useful one when the condition is incomplete[3]. Therefore we propose an efficient learning method of HMM-Net classifiers using a hybrid criterion(ML/MMSE). In the method, we begin a learning with ML in order to get a stable start-point. After then, we continue the learning with MMSE to search an optimal or near-optimal solution. Experimental results for the isolated numeric digits from /0/ to /9/, a training and testing time-series pattern set, show that the performance of the proposed method is better than the others in the respects of learning and recognition rates.

Hardware-Accelerated Real-Time Rendering for 3D Su-Muk Painting (하드웨어 가속 실시간 3차원 수묵화 렌더링)

  • This paper presents a method for real-time 3D Sumi-e rendering us ing normal graphics hardware. Sumi-e is one of the traditional oriental painting styles. Most research on Sumi-e paintings has focused on 2D or :2.5D Sumi-e brushwork simulation. On these systems. complicated user's hand drawing is required to generate the image of Sumi-e effects. and it can render the 2D or 2.5D Sumi-e images only. We present an automated rendering system for 3D image of Sumi-e painting. It uses 3D common object as an input data and does not need any additional input of user brushwork. Especially for the real-time rendering. hardware-accelerated algorithm for Sumi-e rendering is newly suggested in our system. It is designed with efficiency for customer level graphics hard ware. The results of this paper show that the features of traditional Sumi-e painting are successfully modeled and that 3D Sumi-e painting is rendered in real-time effectively.

  • This paper presents a mechanism for improving performance of the IEEE 802.6 MAN(Metropolitan Area Network), a dual-bus structured high-speed communication network, by a more efficient use of bandwidth. The MAN protocol is able to handle various traffic and offers better transmission speed than the conventional LAN, but the unidirectional bus structure and propagation delay of request bits results in unfairness since higher nodes use more bandwidth. As the number of stations and the distances between them are increased, the problem becomes mere serious. As a solution, this paper presents a method that every station enables to identify the used slots, and that a specified class denoted 'erasure station' has with the functions of destination release, slot reuse. As a result, it is export to improve network bandwidth values of each station and the throughput and delay time was analytically analyzed, and it is shown that according to computer simulation results, this mechanism improves the network performance.

  • This paper proposes the controller for biped robot using intelligent control algorithm. In order to simplify the complexity of biped robot control, manipulator of biped robot is divided into four modules. These modules are controlled by intelligent algorithm with Hierarchical Mixture of Experts(HME) using neural network. Also neural network having direct control method learns the inverse dynamics of biped robot. The HME, which is a network of tree structure, reallocates the input domain for the output by learning pattern of input and output. In this paper, as a result of learning HME repeatedly with EM algorithm, the controller for biped robot operating safety walking is designed by modelling dynamics of biped robot and generating virtual error of HME.
