Method of Monitoring Forest Vegetation Change based on Change of MODIS NDVI Time Series Pattern (MODIS NDVI 시계열 패턴 변화를 이용한 산림식생변화 모니터링 방법론)

  • Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) has been used to measure and monitor plant growth, vegetation cover, and biomass from multispectral satellite data. It is also a valuable index in forest applications, providing forest resource information. In this research, an approach for monitoring forest change using MODIS NDVI time series data is explored. NDVI difference-based approaches for a specific point in time have possible accuracy problems and are lacking in monitoring long-term forest cover change. It means that a multi-time NDVI pattern change needs to be considered. In this study, an efficient methodology to consider long-term NDVI pattern is suggested using a harmonic model. The suggested method reconstructs MODIS NDVI time series data through application of the harmonic model, which corrects missing and erroneous data. Then NDVI pattern is analyzed based on estimated values of the harmonic model. The suggested method was applied to 49 NDVI time series data from Aug. 21, 2009 to Sep. 6, 2011 and its usefulness was shown through an experiment.

  • 건설교통부는 국가미래에 대비해 실질적으로 기여할 수 있는 전략적이고 중장기적인 실효성 있는 R&D 혁신 로드맵인 VC-10 사업을 진행하고 있다. 이 과제의 핵심 기술 중에 하나인 유비쿼터스 센서네트워크는 초소형 센서들로 구성된 망으로써 환경 및 재난 재해, u-City 건설, 스마트 하이웨이, 방범 및 국방, 시설 관리, 유통, 등과 같은 다양한 분야에 사용할 수 있는 유비쿼터스 사회의 핵심 요소이다. 이것은 실시간 네트워크를 통해 전송 또는 관리되고 언제, 어디서나, 어떠한 대상과 의사소통이 가능한 지능형 컴퓨팅 환경을 구현하는 것이다. 그러나 이러한 기술을 바탕으로 하는 기존의 시스템들은 특정분야를 위한 독자적인 프로토콜이나 저전력 통신을 제공하는 ZigBee 기반으로 설계되었기 때문에 소규모 범위에서만 서비스 제공이 가능하며 시스템간의 연동이 어렵다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 유비쿼터스 센서네트워크간의 연동성을 고려한 대규모 실시간 모니터링 시스템을 설계하여 다양한 분야로 서비스할 수 있는 테스트베드 구축에 대한 방안을 제시하고자 한다. 여기서 모니터링 대상은 국토의 지반, 환경, 그리고 도심지역 등이다. 이렇게 제시된 방안은 국내실정에 적합한 모니터링 시나리오를 작성하여 테스트베드를 구축 시에 요구된 사항들에 대한 정당성을 입증한다.

  • 본 논문에서는 위험요소를 내재하고 있는 로켓시스템에 대해 원거리에서 실시간 모니터링 및 제어를 할 수 있도록 원격 제어시스템을 설계, 개발하였다. 뿐만 아니라 로켓 근처에 위치한 무인 시설물 내에는 원격제어에 따른 로켓내부 시스템의 각종 센서 출력값을 멀티채널방식을 이용하여 장시간에 걸쳐 저장하고 원격지에 위치한 유인 시설물 내에서 LAN 통신을 통해 데이터를 분석할 수 있도록 DAS(Data Acquisition System)을 설계하고 개발하였다. 개발된 시스템은 간이 연계시험을 통해 입증하였으며, 향후 3단형 과학로켓발사통제시스템에 적용할 예정이다.

  • Passive sampler는 현장에서 제약 없이 사용할 수 있다는 간편성과 그 측정결과의 정확성, 정밀성에 대하여 입증된 바 있는 측정도구로써 대기질 측정 및 모니터링뿐만 아니라 최근에는 대기확산모델의 검증자료로도 활용되고 있다(김선태, 2001). 이러한 측정방법은 국내의 경우 1992년 이후 한정적으로 사용되었으나, 최근에는 국내뿐 아니라 해외에서도 passive sampler를 사용하는 사례가 증가하고 있으며, UNEP에서도 다양한 목적으로의 활용성을 언급하고 있다(UNEP, 1994). (중략)

  • When performing experiments in indoor and outdoor environment, we need a system that monitors a volunteer to prevent dangerous situations and efficiently manages the data in real time. We developed a guidance device for visually impaired person that guides the user to walk safely to the destination in the previous study. We set a POI (Point of Interest) of a specific location indoors and outdoors and tracks the user's position and navigate the walking path using artificial markers and ZigBee modules as landmark. In addition, we develop path finding algorithm to be used for navigation in the guidance device. In the test bed, the volunteers are exposed to dangerous situations and can be an accident due to malfunction of the device since they are visually impaired person or normal person wearing a eye patch. Therefore the device requires a system that remotely monitors the volunteer wearing guidance device and manages indoor or outdoor a lot of map data. In this paper, we introduce a managing system that monitors the volunteers remotely and handles map data efficiently. We implement a management system which can monitor the volunteer in order to prevent a hazardous situation and effectively manage large amounts of data. In addition, we verified the effectiveness of the proposed system through various experiments.

International developments in geological storage of $CO_2$ ($CO_2$의 지질학적인 저장에 있어서의 국제적인 개발들)

  • Geological storage of captured $CO_2$ is a new way of reducing greenhouse gas emissions to protect the climate, but is based on the established technology associated with injection of fluids underground. The geological formations of interest for this technique include operational and depleted oil and gas fields, and deep saline aquifers. Prediction of storage performance will depend on models of the behaviour of $CO_2$ in geological formations; these need to be refined and verified, and methods of monitoring developed and proved. These needs can be met through monitored demonstration and research projects. Current commercial projects that are demonstrating $CO_2$ storage include Sleipner, Weyburn, ORC, and In Salah; research projects include West Pearl Queen, Nagaoka, and Frio. In this paper, some of the monitored injection projects are described. The reservoirs employed for storing $CO_2$, and the associated monitoring techniques, are briefly reviewed. It is argued that small-scale research projects, used to develop techniques and prove models, are complementary to the large-scale monitored injections that will establish the viability of this technique for mitigating climate change.

  • This paper describes on the system and method for automatically tracking and real-time monitoring the position of target ships relative to the own ship using a PC based radar system that displays radar images and electronic charts together on a single PC screen. This system includes a simulator for generating the GGA and VTG information of target ships and a simulator for generating the TTM and OSD outputs from a ARPA radar and then host computer accepts NMEA0183 sentences on the maneuvering information of target ships from these simulators. The results obtained are summarized as follows;1. The system developed this study can be used as a range finder for measuring the distance between two ships and as a device for providing the maneuvering information such as distance and bearing to target ships from own ship on ECS screen. 2. From the result of position tracking for a selected target ship tracked with an update rate of 5 seconds using the $\alpha$-$\beta$ tracker, we concluded that the smoothing effect by the $\alpha$-$\beta$tracker was very effective and stable except in the time interval until about one minute after the target is detected. 3. From the fact that the real-time maneuvering information of tracked ship targets via a local area network (LAN) from a host computer installed a radar target extractor was successfully transferred to various monitoring computers of ship, we concluded that this system can be used as a sub-monitoring system of ARPA radar.

Quality Check Monitoring System for Advancing the Yield Rate based on Sensor (베어링 생산수율 향상을 위한 센서기반 품질 체크 모니터링 장치)

  • This paper presents the monitoring method of machining error and quality check to improve the productivity of boring manufacturing process. Machining error usually appears as the offset of spatial location of actual cutting path compared to ideal cutting path. In order to monitor an error of workpiece, multiple factors affecting quality of boring, such as distortion of workpiece, clamping error, radial rotation error of the spindle and motion error of machine tools, were took into account. To verify the productive quality, we propose the quality check system. The system based on IT convergence analyzes the process error rate and saves the analyzed data in memory. Also, these play important roles in detecting an inferior production goods and can decrease the production cost and loss of bearing.

A Study on Reconstructing Impact Forces of an Aircraft Wing Using Impact Response Functions and Regularization Methods (충격응답함수와 조정법을 이용한 항공기 날개의 충격하중 복원 연구)

  • The capability for reconstructing impact forces of an aircraft wing using impact response functions and regularization methods were examined. The impact response function which expresses the relation between the structure response and the impact force was derived using the information on mass and stiffness data of a finite element model for the wing. Iterative Tikhonov regularization method and generalized singular value decomposition method were used to inverse the impact response function that was generally ill-posed. For the numerical verification, a fighter aircraft wing was used. Strain and deflection histories obtained from finite element analysis were compared with the results calculated using impact response functions. And the impact forces were reconstructed with the strain histories obtained from finite element analysis. The numerical verification results showed that this method can be used to monitor impact forces on aircraft structures.

현장추적자시험에 의한 폐기물매립장 침출수 유출경로 규명

  • 폐기물매립장에서의 침출수 유출을 확인하고 경로를 파악하기 위해 추적자시험이 실시되었다. 추적자는 요오드와 Rhodamine WT를 이용하였으며, 추적자는 T-2, 4, 5공에서 주입하였다. 관측지점으로는 매립장내 우수관 출구와 측면배수구에서 모니터링 하였으며, 또한 주입공 하부의 9개 지하수공에서 모니터링 하였다. T-4, T-2와 T-5 지하수공에서 요오드와 Rhodamine WT 용액을 주입한 추적자시험 결촤 매립장의 바닥 차수막이 파손되어 침출수가 우수관내로 유출되고 있음이 입증되었으며, 또한 매립장내의 투수성이 매우 높아 일반적인 자연상태에 비해 매립장에서 우수관내로의 침출수 유입이 매우 빠름을 알 수 있었다. T-4와 T-2 지하수공에서 실시된 추적자시험에서 매립장의 차수벽 하부에 위치한 B-5와 B-6공에서 다량의 추적자가 관측되어 하부차수벽을 통해 침출수가 유출되고 있음이 확인되었다. 본 현장에서 실시된 추적자시험을 통해 매립장에서의 침출수 유출은 매우 빠른 속도로 발생하고 있으며, 또한 주 유출경로로는 T-4와 T-5 지하수공 주변의 바닥차수막과 매립장의 하부차수벽을 통해 유출 되어지고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다.
