An increasing in quantity of multimedia data brought a new problem that expected data should be retrieved fast and exactly. The adequate representation is a key element for the efficient retrieval For this reason, the MPEG-7 standard was established for description of multimedia contents in 2001. Recently, the new metadata were developed to represent characteristics of movie information resources by Korea Federation of Film Archives. In this paper. we designed and implemented a movie information retrieval system. This system used XML schema to accept movie information metada. This system offers a keyword retrieval using high-level metadata based on movie information and similarity retrieval using low-level metadata based on MPEG-7. As a result, that ill be Possible more efficient movie information interchange . movie information metadata reuse and fast retrieve.

This paper proposes an image retrieval system which integrates metadata, contents, and emotions in textile images. First, the proposed system searches images using metadata. Among searched images, the system retrieves similar images based on color histogram, color sketch, and emotion histogram. To extract emotion features, this paper uses emotion colors which was proposed on 160 emotion words by H. Nagumo. To enhance the user's convenience, the proposed textile image retrieval system provides additional functions as like enlarging an image, viewing color histogram, viewing color sketch, and viewing repeated patterns.

최근 개인 컴퓨터에 저장되는 다양한 미디어 정보에 대한 검색요구가 크게 대두되면서, 다양한 데스크톱 검색 시스템이 출현하고 있다. 그러나, 기존 데스크톱 검색 시스템은 파일명, 일부 제한된 메타데이터, 콘텐츠들에 대한 키워드 기반의 검색을 수행하기 때문에 사용자의 요구에 부합하는 결과를 정확하게 제시하는 못하는 문제점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 이와 같은 문제점을 해결하기 위해서 시맨틱웹 기술을 활용하여, 온톨로지에 기반한 메타데이터를 정의하고 이를 기반으로 메타데이터간의 의미적 연관성에 기반한 시맨틱 데스크톱 검색/관리 시스템에 대해 기술한다.

This study aims to develope a scholarly metadata information system based on conceptual elements of text structure of Korean studies research articles and to identify the applicability of text structure based metadata as compared with the existing similar system. For the study, we constructed a database(Korean Studies Metadata Database, KMD) with text structure based on metadata of Korean Studies journal articles selected from the Korea Citation Index(KCI). Then we verified differences between KCI system and KMD system through search results using same keywords. As a result, KMD system shows the search results which meet the users' intention of searching more efficiently in comparison with the KCI system. In other words, even if keyword combinations and conditional expressions of searching execution are same, KMD system can directly present the content of research purposes, research data, and spatial-temporal contexts of research et cetera as search results through the search procedure.

최근까지 개발되어 사용되고 있는 대부분의 P2P 파일 검색 및 공유 시스템들은 파일 이름과 확장자를 이용한 단순 키워드 검색 방식을 취하고 있다. 점점 기술이 발전되고 많은 정보가 쏟아져 나오면서 많은 자료 중에서 필요한 정보를 빠르고 쉽게 찾을 수 있는 능력이 필요하게 되었다. 또한 단순히 파일 검색을 떠나 컨텐츠를 공유하고 배포하는 경우 파일의 이름만을 가지고는 파일의 역할과 내용을 알 수 없어 파일에 대한 정보를 담는 메타데이터에 관한 연구와 그 중요성이 증가하고 있는 상황이다. 본 논문에서는 P2P 파일 공유 및 검색 시스템에서 검색의 정확성과 효율성을 높일 수 있도록 메타데이터를 이용한 파일 검색 시스템을 제안한다. 이를 위해 메타데이터로 자료의 검색이 가능한 OAI 프로토콜을 이용하였고 제안한 시스템을 구현해 실험해보았다.

MPEG-7은 기존의 MPEG표준들과 다르게 컨텐츠 검색을 위하여 내용기반 검색에 필요한 요소 기술들을 제공하는 목적으로 개발된 표준이다. MPEG-7 메타데이터를 이용한 검색엔진으로 내용기반의 검색이 가능하다. 하지만, 사용자들이 지정만 Query에 대하여 DMIF 표준을 준수하면서 알맞은 컨텐츠와 HPEG-7 메타데이터를 실시간으로 전송하는 시스템은 현재 개발된 예가 없다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 MPEG-7 메타데이터 검색엔진과 연동하기 위해 사용자가 요청하는 Query에 맞는 컨텐츠와 MPEG-7 메타데이터를 DMIF 스트리밍 엔진을 이용하여 실시간으로 전송하는 시스템을 설계해 보았다.

And we integrated high-level and low-level schemas to retrieve datas for users.

데이터와 파일의 개수가 증가함에 따라 효율적인 파일 검색 기법에 대한 요구가 증가하고 있다. 현재까지 제안된 파일 탐색 기법은 탐색 시간이 매우 오래 걸리거나, 미리 인덱싱 과정을 거쳐야 하기 때문에 사용자가 원하는 시점에 빠르고 효율적인 파일 탐색을 제공하기 어렵다는 단점을 지닌다. 본 논문에서는 디스크의 메타 데이터 영역을 직접 접근함으로써 고속의 파일 검색을 가능하게 해주는 효율적인 검색 기법을 제안하고자 한다. 본 기법은 메타 데이터가 서로 비슷한 영역에 위치한다는 파일 시스템의 특징을 활용함으로써 디스크 내의 데이터를 고속으로 탐색하고, 이를 DB로 구성함으로써 실시간 검색을 지원한다. 또한 파일 시스템 내의 변경 사항을 빠르게 추적하여 DB를 업데이트 할 수 있다는 장점을 지닌다. 본 논문에서 제안한 검색 기법을 다수의 시스템에서 평가한 결과 기존의 기법 대비 약 20~50배의 탐색 시간 향상과 10초 미만에 실시간 검색이 가능한 상태를 구성 할 수 있음을 확인 할 수 있었다.

본 논문에서는 텍스타일 영상의 내용 데이터와 메타데이터를 결합시킨 영상 검색 시스템을 제안한다. 섬유 패션의 정보를 가지고 있는 메타데이터와의 결합은 그 동안의 섬유 패션 산업과 관련된 영상 검색 시스템에서 진보된 것이다. 우선 메타데이터의 정보를 통해서 영상을 검색하게 된다. 검색된 영상 안에서 색상히스토그램과 색상스케치를 통하여 주어진 영상과 비슷한 영상들을 검색하게 된다. 이러한 방법은 영상내용만을 통해 검색했던 것 뿐만아니라 텍스트가 가지고 있는 의미를 보안하여 보다 효과적인 검색을 할 수 있었다. 본 논문에서 제안된 시스템에서 부가적인 기능인 돋보기 기능, 색상 히스토그램 기능, 색상 스케치 기능, 반복 패턴 보기 기능을 통해 검색된 영상들의 정보를 효과적으로 제공함으로써 사용자의 편의를 강화하였다.

디지털 방송과 함께 저장매체를 갖는 PVR과 셋탑박스가 출현하였지만 방대한 컨텐츠에 대한 선택의 어려움이 발생하였다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해서 PVR에서는 TV-Anytime과 MPEG-7 표준을 기반으로 멀티미디어 데이터에 대한 메타데이터를 제공한다. 이 메타데이터는 멀티미디어 데이터를 표현하는 특징적인 정보를 포함하고 있어, 컨텐츠에 대한 선택과 검색을 돕는다. 그러나 메타데이터는 그 내용이 방대한 XML document로 구성되어 있어, 효율적이고 빠른 검색이 쉽지 않다. 본 논문은 이러한 XML 메타데이터의 특성을 기반으로 효율적인 검색을 위한 XML 메타데이터 엔진을 설계한다. 제안하는 XML 메타데이터 엔진은 메타데이터의 정보적 특성을 기반으로 인덱싱 구조를 설계하여 XML 메타데이터의 접근 시간을 최소화한다.
