Analysis of Dynamic and Static Elastic Modulus of In-situ Marine Concrete (현장 해양 콘크리트의 동탄성계수와 정탄성계수 분석)

  • Impact echo method estimating the soundness of concrete measures the dynamic elastic modulus of specimens which are different with static elastic modulus tested by uni-axial compression test. Thus, this paper investigates the relationships between dynamic and static elastic modulus based on in-situ concrete cores. Also, dynamic elastic modulus was compared with compressive strength. Concrete cores were obtained from about 20 to 70 years concrete structures at three different harbors which were Incheon, Wando, and Masan in Korea. In order to investigate the influence of exposure condition on the relationship, air zone, splash zone, and tidal zone were selected. Different harbors showed the different relationships between dynamic and static elastic modulus, but exposure conditions have no influence on the relationship between dynamic and static elastic modulus. Also, the relationship between dynamic elastic modulus and compressive strength has the same tendency as the relationship between dynamic and static elastic modulus. The relationship equations were proposed to estimate the relationships properly.

부산신항 적극적 관제 장려 방안 연구

  • 부산신항은 지형적인 특성상 마산 방면에서 입출항하는 선박과 신항으로 입출항하는 선박이 서로 교차하는 경우가 빈번하고 대형 컨테이너선과 저속 예부선 등의 통항량이 많을 뿐만 아니라 년 중 안개일수도 많아 충돌사고 위험이 상존한다. 따라서 선박에 정보제공 정도만 하는 소극적 관제 보다는 선박의 이동에 개입하는 적극적인 관제가 사고 방지에 더욱 효과적이라 할 수 있다. 부산신항의 관제 자료 및 해양안전심판원의 재결사례 등을 통하여 충돌사고의 원인을 분석하는 과정에서 적극적 관제의 필요성을 확인할 수 있었다. 본고에서는 부산신항에서의 적극적 관제 사례와 문제점을 주로 법률적인 측면에서 살펴보고, 적극적 관제의 개선 방안을 도출하여 보았다.

The development of Masan Port through comparison of Free Trade Zones (자유무역지역 제도비교를 통한 마산항 발전방향)

  • The purpose of this paper is to investigate CFZ(custom free zone) and FTZ(free trade zone) in Korean FTZ System and develop Masan Port in Korea Local Port. The main point of this discussion is to approach the efficient method ill developing Masan Port through comparison CFZ and FTZ. For this purpose, this paper is searched the present situation of logistics in Korea and Northeast Asia, also discussed the concept of FTZ in international status. Then CFZ accepted by Korean government started from the concept of FTZ and is the logistic-centered FTZ in the middle of three model, production-centerde model, production-logistic combination, and logistic-centered FTZ. But CFZ in centering logistic excepted the fundamental manufacture in Korean production. and is almost the same about other various sides, i. e. law and enforcement ordinance. etc This problem is decreasing the efficiency in Korean commercial system. Thus this paper indicate the view point and rightness of region economic through study of FTZ and CFZ in Masan Port. This paper says that FTZ is better then CFZ in Masan Port with comparing superior position about economic development direction, industrial structure, Foreign investment attraction, business fluctuation, national-local renovation. Therefore this paper concludes that the development of Masan Port needs the effort as follow : first, Masan Port must apply in enlarging FTA into Free Tree Area. Second, the government must develop the high-density and medium-small scale in Masan Port. Third, the local government must promote the amount of demand in Masan Port logistic. Forth, the government must actively propel great-sphere development in present Masan Port.

A Numerical Study on the Effectiveness of a Floating Breakwater in Wonjeon Port (부방파제를 이용한 원전항의 정온효과 수치해석)

  • A numerical scheme is proposed which is applicable to the evaluation of wave field containing floating structures, and the method is utilized to estimate the effect of the floating breakwaters to be installed in Wonjeon port near Masan. The model is based on the mild-slope equation which is widely accepted for the calculation of wave modulation near shores and an additional term is introduced to consider the wave scattering associated with the thin floating structures such as floating breakwaters. The tranquility in Wonjeon port with the floating breakwater in the east side is calculated and compared with the one with a bottom-fixed breakwater. The present method is believed to provide an efficient way of quantitative measurement of the performance of floating breakwaters.

김해시의 지역전략산업 육성방안

  • 김해시에는 약 3,000개가 넘는 기계산업을 중심으로한 전국 두 번째로 많은 중소기업이 있다. 김해국제공항이 10km 이내에 있으며, 부산항과 마산항, 가덕신항만이 자동차로 30분 거리에 있고 서울, 대구, 광주로 가는 고속도로와 울산, 양산, 부산, 창원, 진주를 잇는 동남 공업벨트의 중심지로서 사통팔달의 최적 교통조건을 갖추고 있다. 또 남해바다 해양성기후의 영향을 받아, 화훼, 과수, 채소 등의 신선농산물 재배에도 최적이며 공항을 통해서 50분 거리의 후꾸오까와, 70분 거리에 있는 동경에 이들 농산물의 신속한 수출도 용이하다. 한편 김해시는 가락국의 가야문화권 중심도시로 국립김해박물과의 개관, 문화유적의 복원 등으로 관광도시의 면모도 갖추어 가고 있다. 김해시는 이러한 입지적 요건을 최대한 활용하여 다음과 같은 지역전략산업을 육성하여야 할 것이다. 첫째, 기존의 기계 자동차 금속산업은 지식집약형 기계산업(정밀의료기기 및 첨단 자동차부품포함)으로 특화하여야 할 것이다. 둘째, 화훼 및 농산물수출은 현대화된 재배시설 및 유통시설의 조성, 수출전문생산단지 조성, 대체에너지의 개발 등으로 수출경쟁력을 제고시켜야 할 것이다. 셋째, 기존 기계산업을 정보기술산업과 접목시키는 벤처기업의 육성으로 장기적으로는 하청구조의 산업구조톨 지양하고 기술개발을 통해 경쟁력있는 중소기업을 육성시켜야 할 것이다. 넷째, 유적, 화훼 등의 관광자원을 개발하여 부산과 제주도를 잇는 관광도시로 육성시켜야 할 것이다. 끝으로 인제대학의 특성화분야인 의생명공학을 중심으로 우리나라 최초의 헬씨어밸리(healthier valley)조성올 통해 생물 건강소재산업을 개발하는 것이 바람직 할 것이다. 이상의 특화산업들이 산업연관 효과를 가지고 조화있는 발전을 할 때 21세기의 경쟁력 있는 김해시 건설이 가능할 것이다.

Speciation and Ecological Risk Assessment of Trace Metals in Surface Sediments of the Masan Bay (마산만 표층퇴적물에서 미량금속의 화학적 존재형태 및 생태계 위해도 평가)

  • Total concentration and chemical speciation of trace metals (Cu, Pb, Zn, Cd, and Ni) were determined to evaluate pollution level and potential ecological risk in surface sediments of the Masan Bay. The results showed that the trace metal concentrations, except for Ni, were high in the inner Masan Bay. Based on the chemical speciation of metals in sediments, the percentage of total concentrations of Cd and Pb in non-residual fraction was 92% and 88%, respectively, indicating that these metals originated mainly from anthropogenic sources. However, Ni (70%) was dominant in residual fraction. Pollution load index (PLI) and ecological risk index (ERI) values in the inner bay indicate the presence of anthropogenic pollution and considerable-moderate ecological risk, respectively. Ecological index (Ei) value for Cd was high at most stations in the Masan Bay, and Cd content was the highest in acid soluble fraction, which presents the highest ecological risk. The results obtained in this study indicate that Cd presents a high potential ecological risk to benthic biota in the Masan Bay.

  • Open-coast storm surge computations are of value in planning and constructing engineering works, especially in coastal regions. Prediction of typhoon surge elevations is based primarily on the use of a numerical model in this study, since it is difficult to study these events in real time or with use of physical models. A simple quasi-two dimensional numerical model for storm surge is considered. In order to understand the model's underlying assumptions, range of validity, and application, we discussed several aspects of typhoons and the physical factors governing storm generation processes. We also followed the basic governing equation, together with the assumption generally taken in their development, to see the principle characteristics of the model from a physical as well as a mathematical point of view. The equations consistent with the model described here are reduced forms of the basic equations and their effects on the resulting numerical scheme are discussed. Finally we applied the model discussed above to a storm surge problem at Masan Bay, the south coast of Korea Effects of astronomical tide, initial water level, and atmospheric pressure setup are considered. We then analyzed the flood at the coastal city and proposed a reasonable way of flood control.

  • Buoys are a necessary component for the safety of vessel traffic. However, if the buoy becomes inoperable from damage and loss, it can have significant impact on vessel traffic safety as well as unexpected budget spending. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the risk of accidental contact by applying the marine traffic assessment index that can reflect the traffic flow in the sea area. First, Busan Port No. 5 fairway, with a high number of buoys and many contact accidents, was set as the sea area for assessment. to investigate the status of accidental contact and evaluate risk of contact accidents based on the IALA Waterway Risk Assessment Programme (IWRAP MkII) and Potential Assessment of Risk Model (PARK Model). As a result, buoys are near the P recautionary Area wherein the traffic flow was complicated by the Masan port vessel and Busan new port vessel, and buoys are near the entrance of the Gadeok waterway, wherein vessels show a pattern of navigation across the fairway and buoys are near the breakwater in the inner fairway were considered as high risk for contact accidents. This study can be used as basic data for establishing an integrated model to evaluate the risk of buoy contact accidents.

Acquired Drug Resistance during Standardized Treatment with First-line Drugs in Patients with Multidrug-Resistant Tuberculosis (다제내성결핵 환자에서 표준 1차 항결핵제 치료 중 발생한 획득 내성)

  • Background: First-line drugs, if sensitive, are the most potent drugs in the treatment of multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB). This study examined the frequency and risk factors associated with acquired drug resistance to first-line drugs during a standardized treatment using first-line drugs in patients with MDR-TB. Methods: This study included patients who were diagnosed with MDR-TB at the National Masan Tuberculosis Hospital between January 2004 and May 2008, treated with standardized first-line drugs, and for whom the preand post-treatment results of the drug susceptibility test were available. Their medical records were reviewed retrospectively. Results: Of 41 MDR-TB patients, 14 (34.1%) acquired additional resistance to ethambutol (EMB) or pyrazinamide (PZA). Of 11 patients initially resistant to isoniazid (INH) and rifampicin (RFP), 3 (27.3%) acquired additional resistance to both EMB and PZA, and 3 (27.3%) to PZA. Of 18 patients initially resistant to INH, RFP and EMB, 6 (33.3%) acquired additional resistance to PZA. Of 6 patients initially resistant to INH, RFP and PZA, 2 (33.3%) acquired additional resistance to EMB. Ten of the 41 MDR-TB patients (24.4%) changed from resistant to susceptible. No statistically significant risk factors associated with acquired resistance could be found. Conclusion: First-line drugs should be used cautiously in the treatment of MDR-TB in Korea considering the potential acquisition of drug resistance.

The Efficiency of the Port Hinterlands of Gwangyang and Busan (광양.부산항의 항만물류배후단지 효율성 분석)

  • It's vital to establish the competitive comparative advantage as the competitions among global logistics companies have become fierce. The global companies, hence, must innovate their Port Hinterland to hub and spoke in a view of SCM. The Port Hinterland significantly affects its local economy and value added. The task of the Port Hinterland nowadays is to improve its efficiencies by utilizing logistics operations and services. The Korean government has planned to reduce the scale of the Port. The CCR and BCC matrices show that there are nine efficient companies: two companies in Gwangyang Hinterland and five companies in Busan Hinterland, though Masan FTZ was only ranked on the 24th, on the rank of world FTZ. This paper aims at finding the cargo volume necessary for achieving the maximum efficiency. This research proposes an appropriate strategy to keep a certain amount of cargo volume stable and presents the Port Hinterland differentiation strategies of Gwangyang and Busan.
