Prediction of Wear Rate for Rubber Track by Using Frictional Energy Analysis (마찰 에너지 해석을 통한 러버 트랙(Rubber Track)의 마모율 예측)

  • The wear of rubber track being in contact with the road surface is an important subject because it decreases the traction performance and the operating efficiency of tracked vehicle. For the above reasons, many attempts have been made to quantitatively calculate the rubber track. However, it depends on the experimental methods which are highly time- and cost-consuming. Therefore, the numerical simulation approach is highly desirable, but it needs to model the complex geometry and the material behavior in details as well as the interaction with the road surface. In this study, the rubber track and its material behavior are elaborately modeled since these factors are very important in the prediction of the wear rate of the rubber track. Accordingly to the studies on the rubber wear by previous investigations, it has been found that the wear is greatly influenced by the frictional energy. The frictional energy of rubber track is computed by utilizing the 3D finite element analysis of the rubber track, and the wear rate is evaluated making use of the frictional energy and a wear model.

Fretting Wear Simulation of Press-Fitted Shaft with Finite Element Analysis and Influence Function Method (유한요소해석과 영향함수법을 이용한 압입축의 프레팅 마모해석)

  • In this paper the fretting wear of press-fitted specimens subjected to a cyclic bending load was simulated using finite element analysis and numerical method. The amount of microslip and contact variable at press-fitted and bending load condition in a press-fitted shaft was analysed by applying finite element method. With the finite element analysis result, a numerical approach was applied to predict fretting wear based on modified Archard's equation and updating the change of contact pressure caused by local wear with influence function method. The predicted wear profiles of press-fitted specimens at the contact edge were compared with the experimental results obtained by rotating bending fatigue tests. It is shown that the depth of fretting wear by repeated slip between shaft and boss reaches the maximum value at the contact edge. The initial surface profile is continuously changed by the wear at the contact edge, and then the corresponding contact variables are redistributed. The work establishes a basis for numerical simulation of fretting wear on press fits.

  • Plasma spray coating technology is essential for the microsemiconductor processes based on the electronic and computer industry, and extend gradually the range of application for up-to-date industry such as diesel engine and gas turbine components. These thechonoogies may be applied to the components requiring wear-resistance, heat resistance, fatigue-resistance, and corrosion-resistance. In this research, plasma spray technology was selected for the wear resistant coatings as the most proper technique. The final goal of this study is to improve the wear resistance through establishment of coating soft-ware, and basic research for industrialization of the technology concerned.

  • The purpose if this research was to improve the pressure distribution on the disk brake pad Not uniform pressure distribution on the disk brake pad generate the unbalance wear of it and the unbalance wear of disk brake pad generate vibration, noise, heat and reduce the braking capacity. For improve the pressure distribution on the pad in this research, upper face of caliper housing finger was cut. Two kinds of caliper which uncut and cut of finger face were compared the stress distribution by FEM analysis and real experiment. Also natural frequency and deforming displacement ware calculated. It was understood that pressure distribution could Improve by cut inside upper face of caliper housing finger.

  • In this paper, the method and its effectiveness to decrease the uneven wear of the brake pad were proposed. A finite element analysis was performed to analyze the pressure distributions on the contact surfaces. The optimum brake pad shape was determined by a robust design using the Taguchi method. The effectiveness of the optimum design was clarified by the wear tests with a dynamometer.

  • In this paper, a robust design of the back-plate of the brake pad to decrease the uneven wear of the pad was studied. A finite element analysis was performed to analyze the pressure distributions on the contact surfaces. Optimized back-plate shape of the brake pad was determined using the Taguchi method.   • 고체 추진제 로켓의 연소시에 발생되는 산화 알루미늄(A1$_2$O$_3$) 입자는 로켓 추진 노즐에서 팽창과정의 효율을 저하시키는 요소가 되며, 이러한 비효율성은 연소 가스와 입자간의 비평형 상태 효과와 기본적인 속도와 열적 차이에 의해서 발생된다고 보고되었다. 또한 연소시 발생된 산화 알루미늄 입자는 높은 열과 큰 운동량을 가지고 로켓 노즐 내부를 유동하게 되며, 매우 많은 량이 짧은 시간에 고온 고속으로 노즐 벽면이나 기타 구조물에 충돌 및 점착하기 때문에 로켓 노즐내의 표면이 손상을 입게 되고, 로켓의 방향 제어 및 조정 안정성이 저하되며, 구조적인 강도가 약화 될 수 있다. 또한 산화 알루미늄 액적들의 경우 노즐 벽면에 고착되게 되면 로켓의 중량 증가로 인해서 추력의 손실을 초래할 수 있다. 따라서 이러한 연소 부산물들의 운동 경로와 충돌 위치 및 표면에서의 충돌량과 그리고 충돌에 따른 마모량 및 점착 그리고 열전달 특성을 예측하는 것이 필수적이다.

  • 연료 분사펌프는 600bar 이상의 고압 연료를 분사밸브를 통하여 디젤기관의 연소실에 연속적으로 공급하는 장치이며, PLUNGER&BARREL 은 분사펌프의 핵심 부품으로 작동하고 고온 고압의 환경에서 $4{\mu}m$ 미만의 초정밀 간극을 유지해야 한다. 이러한 정밀한 가공 상태를 유지하기 위해선 내마모성 및 내열성에 적합한 재료와 열처리가 필수 요소이다. 현재 주로 사용되고 있는 방식은 DIAMOND STONE 에 의한 HORNIG 가공을 주로 사용하기 있다. 하지만, 연삭 가공과는 달리 별도의 치수 보정 장치가 없는 관계로, STONE 마모와 그에 따르는 마모량 공차에 의한 정밀 치수 확보의 어려움으로 인해, 고비용 저효율의 약점을 가지고 있다. 그러므로 기존의 HORNING STONE 방식을 대체한 PIN 방식의 HORNING MACHINE 개발을 목표로 한다.

공구파손의 파괴역학적 해석에 관한 기초적 연구

  • 구조물과 기계부품에 부하를 주는 하중은 여러가지 종류가 있고, 이에 따르는 파괴의 형식도 여러가지가 있다. 그중에서도 연강압연용 로울러, 베어링 레일등은 집중 압축하중을 받는데 이들 부재의 파괴사고가 빈번히 일어나고 잇다. 압축에 의한 파괴 중 frectting, 피팅등과 같은 마모 현상은 두 재료의 표면이 서로 미끌어질때 일어나며, 이것이 공구나 기계부품의 성능과 수명을 저하시키는 주원인이 되며, 이러한 궁구나 기계 부품을 수리 또는 교환을 하기위한 인적, 경제적 손실은 막대하다. 본 연구에서는 금형등 공구의 마모편이 발생되는 마지막 과정인 크렉의 성장을 고찰하기 위하여 Sub-surface크랙 모델을 설정하여 2차원 유한요소 법으로 경계층 근방에 크랙이 존재하는 반무한 평면에 집중하중이 작용할때의 응력확대계수를 해설하였는데, 일반화된 해석법으로 혼합모드에서의 응력확대계수를 결정하였다.

A Study on Roll Wear in the Roll Forming Process (롤포밍 공정에서의 롤 마모에 관한 연구)

  • This study show a numerical method to predict roll wear in the roll forming process. Archard's wear model was reformulated in an elemental form to predict volume of roll wear and then wear depth on the roll was calculated using the results of finite element analysis. Abrasive wear occurs at contact area in the roll forming process and the results of simulation are compared with experimental data in production line. The wear simulation approach with 3-D FEM program for roll forming process, SHAPE-RF is in good agreement with it in tendency.
